The World as a unique belief system is the topic today; also there is more on preachers quoting Scripture during their prayers. With regard to the Internet as a public forum, I’ve been specially pressed to share some of my thoughts in today’s presentation as a response to several comments upon recent postings. Writers “wirelessguru1” and “beelzebob” (that I first took to be Beelzebub—the fallen prince of devils defeated and sealed at the Cross by Jesus Christ—and resisted calling “beelzeboob”) in effect, offered to save me from my salvation in Christ, and release me from a state of gross delusion like that described in the Matrix series of Academy Award winning films (that introduced the “bullet” cinema filming techniques.) They have not heard me moaning and groaning, or complaining against the new life; and it must be their own sad experience of something other than Jesus that is fuelling their discontent. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Mr S The Goon” (Level 1 with 44 points, a member since April 22, 2013) posted the following:

Is life as we see it an illusion?

Are we just existing in a reality that society has created for us?

THE BATTLE AXE: Quoting Scripture to GOD? (04/24/2013)—(6.) The holy writings are understood to provide a vocabulary of sacred events, a shared language and shared truth that have been specially fit together and patterned by GOD to permit believers access to the Holy as shared awareness. As a common focus for GOD and mankind, the Scriptures are a necessary bridge over the fixed gulf of carnal and finite being. See 2nd Timothy 2: 15-16, 2nd Timothy 4: 1-5, 2nd Peter 1: 2-9 and 2nd Peter 1: 16-21, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (1st John 2: 15-17, KJV)

Mr S The Goon, here are some ideas from a mature Christian believer that many have found useful for overcoming spiritual confusion. Often the problem is not with life or truth, it’s with our failure to accept and correctly understand it:

(1.) A belief system is a closed set of definitions, explanations and values that describe reality, and fosters a sense of control and wholeness for those operating within the limits that are put into place by the unique terms of the system. A believer may not go outside of the system for answers, correction, guidance, or inspiration; must not rely upon altered versions, fragments, mutations or partial presentations of the full system; must not introduce material from alternative and opposing systems that would contaminate, defile and profane their beliefs; and must trust that the system they commit themselves to is all-inclusive, authoritative, complete and finished.

(2.) The World System is real, and is a valid source of direction and meaning for human life. Called humanism, secularism, and society, the World provides necessary structure for human exchange, interaction and survival. Included are customs, institutions, language, professions, and traditions that generate rules for our experience of education, family, marriage, politics, science, work life, etc., etc., etc., etc. Mature Christians believe the earth (our physical sphere) is created by GOD, and acknowledge that the World is the creation of mankind.

(3.) In addition to the World, other real systems also foster human understanding of reality. The Flesh system is described by such aspects of experience as appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual craving), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), and mental function (e.g., desire, fantasy, forgetting, imagination, thought). Both the Flesh and the World may determine and dictate what one understands as bad/good, deadly/life-giving, real/unreal, right/wrong, and useful/useless.

(4.) The Christian belief system also supplies ideas to describe and maintain human reality. However, in addition to viewing humanity as carnal, emotional, intellectual, physical, psychological and social, Christianity also acknowledges mankind as spiritual. GOD, the Maker of all created beings and living creatures, is a spirit; and has imparted aspects of himself to all Creation.

(5.) Achieving a clear, correct view upon life is very difficult, and requires discipline, focus, and maturity. Truth does not change, however our readiness to accept the truth does. Human living absolutely must go forward as change: we typically grow, increase, and learn. As the process of our living, most humans rely upon discovery, trial-and-error, risk-taking, and vicarious experience (every device available, even clutching at straws), and so there are multiple opportunities and sources for error, and misunderstanding of the truth.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (6.) In the Christian belief system, sin may dominate the awareness of created beings and living creatures, yet, has no influence upon GOD. Sin distorts and skewers human consciousness, and alters the application of self-will. Sin opposes the existence of divine law, divine person, and the entire universe of GOD. Hence, sinners go about to destroy society, and themselves.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

The importance of knowledge to the life of ones spirit is in view, today, along with more on emotion and feeling as aspects of Christian belief. The “Yahoo! Answers” Top Contributor using ID “daughtereponymous“” (Level 7 with 30,497 points, a member since May 18, 2010) posted the following:

Spiritually dead or alive which are you ? Hosea 4:6 many are destroyed for lack of knowledge do you have it ?

THE BATTLE AXE: Emotional Appeal? (04/02/2013)—(6.) The foolish opinion that Christian belief, and religion in general, are unmanly weaknesses because they encourage emotion and feeling, and therefore, should be left strictly to women and children is not put forth by the holy spirit from GOD. Conviction and faith identify every true champion, defender, godly leader, and righteous warrior. (7.) For mature Christian believers, choices and decisions are guided and organized by faith, law and such divine spirit substance as holiness, humility, righteousness, wisdom and wrath against sin. The instability of feeling, intelligence, logic, reason and self-will are replaced by frameworks of duty, sacred expectation (i.e., hope) and obedience. (8.) Even through science, human feelings are accounted as unreliable and untrustworthy. A person may control how they express or suppress their feelings; yet, when feelings will appear and the level of strength for ones feelings cannot be pre-determined, predicted, or repeated in exact detail. Also, there are no accurate and precise instruments to measure the power of feelings. For Christians, the better Rock whereupon we may build strong belief and understanding has proven to be divine doctrine, holy teachings, and an unchanging sacred spirit. (9.) In Christ, peace is not dull, lacking in energy, or having no excitement. The peace of GOD is said to “pass understanding” partly because his peace appears in the midst of struggle and turmoil. Divine peace shines against what appear to be the opposites of peace, and supplies great clarity, confidence, devotion, focus, purpose, serenity, strength, and zeal. (10.) GOD is love; however, GOD is more than human emotion and feeling. As divinity and pure existence—without dimension, form or number, yet having effect, person, presence, purpose, and substance—GOD is the origin of all being and life; and is fully capable of relationship with created beings and living creatures. Saying this more simply: GOD is a spirit; and we must worship him in spirit and in truth. See Psalms 31: 1-24, John 4: 24 and 1st John 4: 6-16, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. (John 14: 14-20, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: GOD Hiding in Plain Sight (03/26/2013); The Spirit and Pentecost (03/27/2013); Science and the Laws of Nature (03/23/2013); How To Love GOD? (03/24/2013); Bad Knowledge? (02/05/2011); Divine Evil? (02/06/2011)

      Dear “daughtereponymous”:

Here are some thoughts that may be useful to you and your readers.

(1.) Life and death for ones inner being depends upon their content (we say, “anointing” or “endowment”) of sacred substance from the makeup of Divine Person. The imparted, indwelling spirit of Christ makes “alive” to GOD, while dead to sin.

(2.) Such features as faith, holiness, longsuffering, love, wisdom and wrath against sin are permanent and unchanging aspects of divinity.

(3.) Secular knowledge (we also say “intelligence” and “science”), logic and reason are not spirit matter, and cannot increase, nourish or strengthen the divine nature within humankind. Similarly, emotion, feeling, and imagination that are vital to distinction as human persons, do not ensure the survival of ones inner spirit derived from GOD. Sacred knowledge must be continually received, internalized, and applied in carnal, material and social settings.

(4.) Sacred knowledge may begin with commandments and divine law; however, because the scale for grasp of life from GOD is cosmic, embracing the universe, ones knowledge must also embrace a broad range of sacred operations, spiritual processes, and eternal purposes.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5.) The mystery (special knowledge from GOD) once available only to the sons of Adam initiated in covenant as heirs to priesthood is now being shared as open revelation. Nonetheless, it continues that many are called, and few are chosen. See Isaiah 41: 8-10, 1st Peter 2: 5-10 and Revelation 17: 13-14, KJV.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

A writer’s reaction to the mystery of the Lord’s Supper as “cannibalism” comes into view, today, along with more on how Christian believers understand resurrection. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Just” (Level 1 with 93 points, a member since March 20, 2013) posted the following:

Why would Jesus want you to eat his body and drink his blood? It sounds totally grotesque, doesn’t it?

Why would al all-powerful God want you to do something that, in any other context, sounds like a disgusting, cannibalistic, satanic ritual?

THE BATTLE AXE: Magical Resurrection? (03/20/2013)—Christian belief requires a higher level of faith and trust in GOD than anything else in human experience. In addition to the truth of Incarnation (i.e., the appearance of GOD in human flesh), and an eternal relationship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, believers must embrace the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the Anointed One sent from GOD. Resurrection pertains to the full revelation of divinity inarguably describing the absolute power of GOD over Creation, judgment, and eternal life. The many human achievements through the man-made world system (the interrelated mechanisms for exchange of resources and survival that include education, money, language, and science), in fact, are exciting responses and impressive technology for many of the classic situations surrounding birth and death. However, what mankind has accomplished remains void of the divine spark of life, and the divine spirit. The holy writings remain the most accurate and complete source for information explaining the fulfillment of mortality, the state of the dead, and the final conclusion of the ongoing transformation of mankind. At no point is there “magic”; and humanity’s best is merely biochemical trial-and-error through such practices as cloning, cryogenics, in-vitro fertilization, the manipulation of genes, and the human management of physical reproduction. One gains certainty of spiritual truth through spiritual practice that includes personal prayer (presenting ones “secret” self to GOD by actions and words); by study of sacred records detailing the action, character and person of GOD; by regular association with those having developed faith and mature identity as believers in the revealed truth from GOD; and by continuous response to the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD that resides within oneself.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. (1st Corinthians 11: 23-29, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Children, not the Dogs (03/17/2013); Why Jesus Must Be A Jew (03/18/2013); How To Have Conviction (11/24/2012); A Text for Lives Today? (11/25/2012); The Gospel not Logical? (12/23/2010); Proving Truth? (12/24/2010)

Be encouraged, Just. This might help some readers understand:

There are so many spiritual answers a person must receive to completely and correctly be in agreement with the various operations of GOD among, on behalf of, and through mankind, that mature Christian believers are usually forced to declare as do the Scriptures, “you must be born again.” Once born again from divine DNA (so to speak), a believer must “grow up again.” There is a continuous process of learning, practice, and growth that dispels spiritual confusion, and provides correct appreciation of the things from GOD. Maturity does not happen in an instance.

The mystery (special knowledge) of the Lord’s Supper is not understandable to those outside the body of Christ. Coming into the community of believers, a person must acquire a totally new consciousness that is not dominated by “the flesh” (appetite such as hunger, thirst, craving for sexual activity; sensation such as hearing, seeing, tasting, touching; aspects of mind such as desire, fantasy, imagination, recall), or by “sin” that directs the self-will of created beings and living creatures to oppose the existence of divine law, Divine Person, and all the Creation of GOD.

GOD is totally a spirit, has no material form, yet, continues as being and eternal presence endowed with power, purpose and sovereignty. The “makeup” of GOD is sanctified substance that exists exclusively within the Divine Person (such as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin). Through breath and spirit (also called “word”), GOD resides within chosen objects that he has put forth from himself.

As Creator, GOD has established many living creatures that operate through carnal, material, physical and social dimensions. For the created to “know” GOD, the Almighty must respond to aspects of their awareness and being, and speak to them in their own language, so to speak. Flesh and spirit must interact within a protected sphere, that allows oneness without also demanding sameness.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, through the Lord’s Supper, Jesus Christ is further acknowledged as the appearance of GOD in human flesh. It is a straight forward and common sense notion that, by eating and drinking we may ingest and internalize Christ, and that divinity will be increased, nourished, and strengthened within all who partake. Like baptism and being reborn, Holy Communion is more than a human event that emerges from self-will. The spiritual reality that must occur is by the operation and power of GOD. The emblems of bread and wine are transformed to establish holy presence and divine substance.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

The increase of atheism from reading the Bible, and more on titles and respect among Christians are topics, today. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Edward” (Level 2 with 976 points, a member since February 13, 2013) posted the following:

Will reading the Bible produce more atheists than it does followers – will there be a turning point?

Many atheists have cited the ridiculous claims made in the Bible as one of the reasons not to belief in the Christian, or any god. That Christian claims for divinity are man-made, having man’s Bronge-aged thinking stamped all over it.

THE BATTLE AXE: On Titles and Respect (03/15/2013)—The holy spirit that must exist throughout the body of Christ is visible as cooperation not competition, diligence not fault-finding, empathy not envy, expectation not carelessness, forbearance not censure, unity not schism. Those appointed to demonstrate the displeasure and rebuke of GOD are also charged to show balance, forgiveness, humility, kindness and impartiality (see again, Luke 17: 10, 2 Peter 2: 11 and Jude 1: 9, KJV). Special titles are bestowed upon all within the Church of Jesus Christ including names as children of GOD, heirs of GOD, peacemakers, sons of GOD, and children of Light (e.g., Luke 20: 36, Romans 8: 17 and 1st Thessalonians 5: 5, KJV). The belief that GOD is active and present through human figures is a basic truth promoting the worship of GOD as a congregational and shared act, rather than merely a matter of private and secret displays (Galatians 2: 20, Hebrews 10: 24-25, KJV). It remains, duty and responsibility often require the division of labor as well as the making of difficult choices and decisions. Those given the necessary tasks of “picking and choosing” must be anchored, mature and stable, while continuing as open to instruction and new experience from GOD. Those who seek to “lord it over” the people of GOD usually lose their place within the kingdom of GOD, for pride and self-exaltation always result in a collapse. There are no rewards for exaggerating ones authority and “playing GOD”; there are only rewards for acknowledging, humbling oneself and serving GOD. (See Job 32: 20-22, Matthew 23: 1-12, Mark 10: 43 and 2nd Corinthians 1: 21, 24, King James Version.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7: 13-14, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Price of Humanity (12/13/2012); Remembering the Holocaust? (12/14/2012); Believing Everything? (11/23/2012); Why “Mysterious” (11/11/2012); Attending Church? (11/12/2012); See With New Eyes (11/06/2012); Does GOD Feel? (10/05/2012); About Conversion (09/03/2012); By Grace (09/04/2012); Repelled by the Bible (08/13/2012); Jealous, Not Crazy (08/10/2012); The Divine Tool of Death (08/11/2012); The Need For GOD (01/31/2012); Feelings and Liberty (02/01/2012); Girdle 33: The Nearness Of GOD (12/18/2011); Girdle 34: The Life Was The Light (12/19/2011); (08/13/2011) Dispatch 5: Weapons (Vengeance); Girdle 28: Grounded In Love ( 12/13/2011)

Many have wanted to examine and look into the things from GOD for mankind, and have failed to rightly grasp the realities of spirit and non-matter that pertain to sacred belief. There are many indications that GOD would have it so (for example, Matthew 22: 14, Luke 13: 23-39, 1 Peter 1: 12 and Revelation 17: 14, KJV).

The hard truth that separates Christian believers from atheists, humanists, secularists and others is that the holy writings describe the Most High GOD as judge over the spirit content of all created beings and living creatures. The revelation of divinity proceeds through a record of priesthood, covenant, and continuous judgment against sin. The GOD who proclaimed his name to Moses, and “explained” the peculiar vision of his Person, is a god of unavoidable, nonnegotiable judgment (Exodus 34: 6-8, KJV).

Like popularity, pride in ones good looks and wealth, pride in ones intelligence does not fit a person to understand the things of GOD. Only substance from within divine person establishes ones capability for understanding of the Scriptures. Included are faith, holiness, humility, joy, righteousness, wisdom and wrath against sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, only spiritual operations through the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD such as rebirth, repentance and sanctification produce Christian believers. Atheists will abound through ignorance, spiritual confusion, separation from GOD, self-promotion, and operations of self-will in mankind that oppose the existence of divine law, Divine Person, and the full Creation of GOD—what mature Christians call “sin”.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Covenant as an instrument of GOD is the topic, today; also, there is more on Messianic belief. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “truth101” (Level 2 with 527 points, a member since October 19, 2012) posted the following:

Did the jews always break there vows to JEHOVAH (did they keep there word on anything?

THE BATTLE AXE: Signs of Messianic Belief? (12/16/2012)—The cross and tzitzit (pronounced “seat-seat”) are symbols of divine love and power only among believers. Together, the two signify that the law of GOD has been made perfect through faith, righteousness, and full payment of all the law’s penalties. There are many who count themselves “conservative” Christians and mistakenly identify belief in Jesus as Messiah as false doctrine, “judaizing,” heresy, and the mark of a cult. The accusation that “the Jews murdered Jesus” continues among those who are blinded by anti-Semitism, ignorance, racism and hate; and appears among believers both as unholy sentiment, and as the spirit of anti-Christ. The work of GOD in his first appearance as Messiah was to confirm and fulfill various features of a divine plan establishing eternal life. Confusion often arises on the point that, by dying on the cross, Jesus ended Judaism and Jewish law. Echoing the rebellion that appeared among the holy angels, there are many in the churches who say, “the law was nailed to the cross,” declaring, we no longer have to obey the Ten Commandments and other laws given the tribes of Jacob. Some insist that this applies only to ceremonial laws, rituals for sacrifice, and practices specific to Jewish secular culture and history including circumcision and tithing. The covenant of Moses is also called “the law” in Scripture; so many understand that the Mosaic covenant was “nailed” (terminated), and a completely different covenant is now in its place. Messianic belief insists upon the righteousness of GOD depicted through the continuity of covenant relationship with the Jews, and a single provision for rebirth and salvation available to all mankind (i.e., , Jews and Gentiles alike) through Jesus the Son of the Highest.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 31: 31-37, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Why Did the Judges Fight? (10/19/2012); The Priesthood of Kings (10/17/2012); Childlike Faith (10/18/2012); The Spirit is Willing (10/20/2012); Spirit Matter (10/21/2012); Still the “Chosen”? (03/19/2012); GOD Does Exist (03/20/2012); Annulled? (01/09/2011); New Covenant? (01/08/2011)

The covenant work of the Jews as a chosen instrument of GOD must be recognized and spiritually discerned on many levels. The tribes of Jacob were chosen to display both divine blessing and curses (see Deuteronomy 11: 22-32 and Joshua 8: 30-35, KJV). In the same way Noah and his family of eight souls became a “living ark” and vessel preserving divine law upon the earth (see Genesis 6: 1-22 and 9: 1-30, KJV), all Israel is to serve as a nation formed by GOD to demonstrate divine law on behalf of all mankind. Most correctly understood, the repeated failures and shortcomings of the Jews are only “such as is common to man,” and clarifies the need for divine atonement, guidance, intercession, and “rebirth.”

Covenant is more to be seen as the tool of GOD for revelation than contracts and tools of mankind for property and prosperity. In addition to making Almighty GOD known, present and visible, covenant extends the sovereign will of GOD to created beings and living creatures in such a way that all are enabled to more readily recognize and resist sin. Sin is no living entity, and is not put forth from GOD or any in existence. Sin opposes the existence of divine law, the divine Law Giver, and the existence of all within Creation. We speak of sin as if an attribute or trait transmitted by DNA. Sin lacks dimension, form and substance, yet has direction, effect, and presence. Sin is no “thing”, and may not influence the will of divinity, however, sin may dominate self-will in the created. The total elimination of sin requires divine operations that include incarnation, death, self-sacrifice, resurrection, judgment, and the second death.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, as with all things among men, covenant is temporal, and shifts in its meaning and value from person to person, and time to time. Continuity for covenant is established by eternal, unchanging GOD through such mechanisms as dynasty, family, forgiveness, nation, prophecy, regeneration, sanctification, and eternal life.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Belief that may combine Christian and Jewish traditions is today’s topic; and there is more on joy as a believer’s strength. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Melani” (Level 1 with 105 points, a member since November 3, 2012) posted the following:

A coworker wears both a crucifix and tzitzit?
AND she’s a woman. Religiously, what does this mean?

THE BATTLE AXE: A Slaughter of Innocents (12/14/2012)—Joy of (= from) the Lord is provided through the imparted, indwelling spirit of GOD; and does not render believers childish, foolish, and incapable of meeting the difficulties and problems of human life. Instead of euphoria and giddiness, believers acquire a further sense of balance, confidence, order, security, vision and understanding that is important for their making life choices and spiritual decisions. Like the promises of GOD that are certain of fulfillment, joy contends against disappointment, loss, and rejection. More importantly, joy serves as a tool along with other spirit content (e.g., faith, humility, longsuffering, patience) for created beings and living creatures to make right responses to sacred process, divine purpose and holy revelations. Divine joy is closely associated with abundance, beauty, gratitude, kindness, praise and thanksgiving, therefore, joy repeatedly appears with healing, prayer, service, vocational work, and worship. Believers experience the joy of their salvation (1) as they continue to acknowledge change, growth and newness of life; (2) share the Gospel with compassion, courage, enthusiasm and understanding; and (3) show affection, godliness, and respect.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. (Isaiah 42: 1-4, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Son of Man (11/28/2012); How Was GOD Known Before Jesus? (10/06/2012); On Religious Items (08/29/2012); On Cults (08/30/2012); On The Messiah (02/19/2012); The Coming (11/10/2010); A Fig Tree Cursed? (10/02/2010)

It is very likely that your coworker is a “Messianic believer” acknowledging the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Greek names given the Savior). Many experienced Christians and Jews now joyfully embrace the Jewish heritage of Jeshua Bar-Joseph (the Hebrew name given the Savior). In addition to the use of prayers in the Hebrew language, and the use of tzittzit acknowledging divine law, you may find the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath (Friday sundown to sundown on Saturday), feast days commanded in Scripture, and study of rabbinical writings.

While the word “Messiah” is actually found only twice in the Bible (see Daniel 9: 21-27, KJV), groundwork for the doctrine of a divine person that would appear as an offspring of Adam, destroy the adversary of GOD, and restore perfection to mankind and the earth is established very early (see Genesis 3: 1-24, KJV). Later, Messiah is titled “the Lamb” and is named “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (see Revelation 17: 14 and 19: 16, KJV). Messianic belief also advances Adventism, the acknowledgment of divine proclamations, promises, and prophecies that Messiah will return again to the earth, soon.
