Today, focus is upon the introduction by GOD of social conflict at Babel through the divine alteration of human communication and language performed to bring about the scattering of mankind to fill the earth.  Only through the operations of Adamic sin did the new patterns of affiliation and association become the source for continuing conflict, distrust, division, fear, hostility, insecurity, and suspicion.  Thus, topics considered include divine continuity, diversity as a device to compensate for lack of change by and within GOD, and mankind as a vessel for divine law.  Also, in view are counterfeit peace, eternal purpose, and the oneness of mankind.  There must be a peculiar separation of the created from the Creator both to establish the fullness and integrity of the living as independent beings as well as to maintain distance vital for the divine exercise of authority, preeminence, and sovereignty.  For men to live in heaven, and for GOD to live upon the earth, multiple sacred operations must be completed that establish a “new creation.”  GOD must permanently alter death, duration, existence, judgment, sacred law, life, time and space.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Christians: Why did God confuse people’s tongue and scatter them to different parts of the world if He knew…?

Things like like racism and cultural bias would be issues? Hello- I am a Born Again Christian and I am curious about this. The Bible says god knows everything. The reason for there being different cultures, languages and nationalities/ethnicities is because of what happened with the Tower of Babel. There was a group of people in the Bible who were in a desert somewhere, who were busy trying to build the Tower of Babel to reach Heaven. God saw this and was angry- He struck the tower down and spread the people out to various parts of the world and confused their tongues. Over time people adapted to the parts of the world they were in. Okay- this being said, why did God do this if He knew there would be dissension among and between certain groups of people? Things like racism and cultural bias goes back to Bible times- Moses was criticized for marrying a Cush women, i.e., and there were nations at war with each other in the Bible. Some of the nations were at war over CULTURAL issues. God wants there to be peace- He doesn’t want people fighting. People fight if they have to. Please help- thank you.

Update: The Bible says God knows everything – fixed.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female:  for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.  (Galatians 3:  26-29, King James Version, KJV)

“JG”, among Christian believers, no one is privileged to “have all the answers,” and so the process of participating within the new creation is one of sharing sacred knowledge, prophecy, revelation, and personal testimony.  Mature Christians generally agree that the Creator, who is spirit, is immortal, immutable, incorruptible, and unchanging.  As an accurate and legitimate representation of the character, nature, and substance of divinity, all Creation is marked by oneness without sameness; and diversity appears as an important expression of divine intent that establishes freshness and newness while avoiding change.  The varieties among roses, tulips, and trees number in the thousands, as do the created beings and living creatures.

The focus upon sacred purpose requires a different perspective than that for human affairs centering in things carnal, material, and social.  Thus, the holy writings provide a divine “point of view” showing the active presence of GOD within thousands of events, from thousands of lives, over the course of thousands of years.  Even the feelings, prayers and thoughts of others are made open to us.  That this has been helpful to grant us understanding also is shown in your recognition that such errors as cultural bias, ethnic arrogance, discrimination, persecution, prejudice, and racism are not in accordance with divine law, with sacred process, or with eternal purpose.

Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and the divine order established through sacred law.  By grace, Noah and his family were chosen as vessels to contain and preserve the spirit within divine law.  The end (i.e.,) intent and purpose of the law is existence and life, allowing us to say, for those sharing eternal life there can be no “end” of the law.  Those who followed the flood of Noah as his descendants and the population of the earth failed to restore and correctly continue in the original commandments of GOD that most simply proclaimed the divine intent:  Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth.  Mankind’s goal to build a tower to heaven—that would be safety against the next flood, one that GOD denied would ever happen—would never allow the earth be overspread by the living.  Like thieves and murderers in a gang relationship, at Babel their agreement and being at peace was a conspiracy against GOD, and a consensus to do wrong.  The iniquity, sin and transgression there, then, is no less than the original error of Adam and Eve:  Their doubt, fear, and skepticism expressed no faith, respect, or trust in GOD.  Consider how some of this is stated using language from the Bible:

(1.)   James 4:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?  2 Ye lust, and have not:  ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain:  ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.  3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

(2.)  Galatians 5:  16-18, KJV:  16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh:  and these are contrary the one to the other:  so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.  18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

(3.)  Hebrews 4:  1-2, KJV:  1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.  2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them:  but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

There is far more to be said, carefully examined, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  Romans 10:  2-4, KJV:  2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, points are shared responding to speculations and conspiracy-theory thinking about the followers of Jesus Christ.  Like present-day believers, the apostles and disciples of Jesus were challenged to understand that his ministry from GOD was that of a high priest, prophet and king (like David), not merely a rabbi or teacher of doctrine.  Until John the Baptist, no anointed prophet such as Isaiah, Ezekiel, or Jeremiah had appeared for more than 400 years.  Even those who acknowledged Jesus as prophet, were not skilled enough to quickly recognize when his message simply repeated that of earlier prophets recorded within the holy writings, amplified and commented upon the earlier messages, or resulted because he himself was operating in the role as a sacred spokesperson and prophet with messages that were fresh and never-before proclaimed.  The writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Bluebootz” (Level 5 with 8,944 points, a member since June 29, 2012) posted the following speculations:

The disciples were the inner circle. They were graced with truths that were not given to the masses that Jesus taught.?

It is possible that they were privy to information, not only spiritual truths, but also revelations about the drama that was about to take place.

Judas and Jesus were best friends, does it make sense that Judas would betray his friend? Or does it make more sense that Judas would create a diversion?

Peter denies Jesus and Judas sells him out? What? Jesus wouldn’t choose wimps and betrayers as his inner circle would he?

Maybe Jesus and his disciples were all in, on a hidden secret thing. Like Jesus doesn’t get crucified.
He cries in Gethsemane because he dislikes having to set up another.

It could make sense right?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me:  and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:  and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.  (John 14:  21-23, KJV)

“Bluebootz”, your understanding is off in a number of peculiar points.  Consider the following that is shared among Christian believers that shields against spiritual confusion:

(1.)  The most necessary focus is upon the divine operations, the sacred processes, and the eternal purposes of Deity.  All the cultural, emotional, material, political, and social activity may be thought of as “noise” to be ignored.  In addition to fulfilling prophecy, Jesus was establishing the further dimensions (we say, a new testament) for the perpetual covenant and the form of priesthood that had been granted to Israel.  As he approached the time of his crucifixion, Jesus had appointed only 12 apostles, yet, was followed daily by hundreds who were committed disciples.

(2.)  When Jesus began to teach more directly the meaning of his incarnation (i.e., the appearance of divinity using flesh and blood), many of the disciples began to feel disheartened and repelled.  There would be a great “falling away” (we say, apostasy).  Jesus would teach that his followers must consume and take himself into themselves completely.  Like Gideon who went into battle with only 300, Jesus would identify those who truly were prepared by using the language of eating his flesh, and drinking his blood, rather than merely by saying, receive the Comforter, the Holy Spirit.  Jesus shocked and tested the acceptance, commitment and understanding of every one who thereafter would approach him.

(3.)  During their last Passover supper, Jesus announced that he would be betrayed that very night by someone who was also sharing at their table.  Immediately, the men began to ask, Is it I, Lord?  Their expressions of embarrassment and self-doubt were not because Jesus was clairvoyant and had read everyone’s mind.  The apostles understood there were limits upon their ministry that would have to be removed.  While they were able to use power from GOD through the name of Jesus, none had received the gifts from the Holy Spirit, or the imparted, indwelling spirit that would abide among them after his return to the Father.  Thus, in many  ways, their primary focus was still upon themselves, their own possibilities for authority and power as ministers within the new kingdom, their continuing competition and rivalry, their inability to accomplish simple tasks (e.g., forgetting to bring along fresh bread), the stinging challenges made by Jesus to the measure of their faith as well as their own nagging uncertainty whether Jesus truly is Messiah.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  GOD is a spirit.  Thinking and speaking as a Christian requires an apprehension of existence that uses concepts and terms appropriate to a cosmic and divine scale.  The need for salvation by direct interventions of divinity on behalf of all created beings and living creatures is correctly received only where the living identify and unite with divinity through such aspects of relationship as forgiveness, humility, praise, prayer, promise, prophecy, and steadfastness.  The Lord’s resurrection first was announced to many who were in hiding, did not know of his crucifixion, and expected Jesus to be released or that their own arrest would soon occur.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, a response is made to “Omgurd34”, a blog writer at , who chose to attack my post (10/20/2010) Speaking of GOD.  Also,  there is more on persecution, and warfare against the early church.

THE BATTLE AXE:  The “Miniature War”?—(6.)  It was first believed that the crucifixion of Jesus would have the same result as the beheading of John the Baptist:  All his disciples would be leaderless, would go into hiding, and would be scattered.  The death of one man would destroy all that had been built up as heresy, nonconformance, rebellion, and schism.  Before the time of Jesus and John, other movements and “uprisings” had occurred, that were successfully put down by destruction of their charismatic leader.  Not so with the work of GOD through Christ.  Jesus prophesied that there would be violent opposition and persecution.  The early church adopted a number of mechanisms to maintain communication and order.  In addition to the roles of disciples, apostles, and prophets, conferences and meetings and church-wide meetings were held to decide controversies.  Well defined roles as bishops, deacons and evangelist appeared, who all began to apply substance to the skeletal structure that had been supplied.  As the satellite locations and territories in communication with Jerusalem increased, the process of spreading the Gospel would be detailed, refined, and further standardized.

(7.)  Where Peter, James, Paul, or Silas became recognized as leaders after the example and pattern of Jesus, persecution by the Jews and Romans focused upon destroying the church by removing these key figures.  There were multiple imprisonments, public beatings, and, finally, executions.  There were even conspiracies by the Jews against the Roman government in order to eliminate the Apostle Paul.

(8.)  In addition to repelling life and death situations imposed by outside enemies and persecution, the church also has had to endure forms of spiritual warfare appearing as betrayal, false members, and heretics in order to maintain the integrity of its doctrines and teachings.  The goal to establish openness and religious liberty often has had to be seen as secondary to the works for maintaining continuity and survival.  As in the time of David, who fled to the caves of Adullam, the church even has been known to “go underground” to escape the carnal and physical threats.  See Acts 5:  34-42, Acts 12:  1-3, 1st Corinthians 11:  19, 1st Corinthians 12:  27-28, 2nd Corinthians 11:  23-31, Acts 23:  12-14 and 2nd Timothy 3:  12, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious:  and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.  Unto you therefore which believe he is precious:  but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,  And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient:  whereunto also they were appointed.  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:  which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.  (1st Peter 2:  1-10, KJV)

“Omgurd34d”, many Christian believers are willing to nourish you, and build you up.  There is a rational process (i.e., a logical pattern and series of planned events) now in place for gaining direct access to divinity, and correct knowledge regarding the things of GOD that have been revealed to mankind.  Humans must engage the Almighty through one another.  Right relationship to GOD begins as interaction among created beings and living creatures who are made in the image of GOD.  In that sense, it is like ones journey to a World Series:  Victory must begin at the onset with spring-training, scrimmages, and pre-season games, before season opener, and the umpire’s yell, PLAY BALL!  Winning it all is not impossible, however, it requires that everyone makes their best possible effort to maintain a championship level throughout.

Every alcoholic father and husband will say that he has a right to enter his own home, vomit in the living room, the kitchen, the foyer, the den; on the children, on the dog, on the wife, and then insist, he does not have a drinking problem—especially where he did it only one time!  Such guys feel they are granted this same right in the homes of close friends, co-workers, parents, and siblings—everybody who would protect them while they are out of their skulls.  More than this, many dare to think they will have the same “human rights and privileges” to spew out filth in heaven, and before the high throne of divine majesty, because “GOD is love.”

Those who have not been permanently changed through baptism (death of ones inborn spirit, rebirth having divine DNA, so to speak), are outside of Christ.  There are human aspects of baptism (attending church, making a conscious choice, cooperating with clergy, etc.); however, there are unseen, divine aspects of that sacred event, that may be completed only by GOD.  Those not yet reborn will never understand either the human, or divine truths of new life.  Thus, a starting point to access is acceptance:  there are things that come only through operations of spirit matter that must reside within the living.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, a person is free to dismiss everything spoken to them, quoted from the Scriptures, or shared as the conviction and personal testimony of caring believers.  No one is to “swallow” everything they hear, hook, line, and sinker.  We are to test the quality and substance of each presentation that may be made.  However, by choosing to reject divine offerings shared by others, believers also may lose their privilege to claim innocence, integrity, or respect for the Spirit from GOD that was present through the ministry from others.  Consider this:  No one attacks a baby for soiling itself, and its caretaker.  You cleanse the child, and encourage its growth—even when its someone else’s baby.  At first.  By age five, the child should be toilet trained, and, when it is not, we regard the little one as a “special needs” child, who may require institutional placement with professional attention and skills beyond that of their parents.  Certainly, at age twenty, twenty-five, few mothers have the necessary physical strength, and emotional, psychological and spiritual balance to continue to manage such a child, despite their being firmly rooted in love.  Can you understand, then, why believers feel forced to turn away from those expressing lack of self-control, and count it “case closed,” game over?  A coach, a player, a team will face many losses, batting slumps, and shutouts before arriving to the playoffs.  Everyone knows, however, extra batting practice is not enough; the only way out of a slump is to keep going to bat, and to keep swinging at the pitches they throw you.  There are always possibilities until you leave the field, and quit.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of divine faith that resides in you.

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility:  for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.  (1st Peter 5:  5-6, KJV)

A question on the status of Satan as servant to GOD is considered, today.  Also, there is more on divine peace.  A writer at “Yahoo! Christians, is Satan God’s servant?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Understanding Peace? (11/20/2013)—Peace will never be the outcome of war; yet, the world (the man-made system for interaction and support) has made war a life process indispensable to human survival.  Divine peace is the fruit of righteous judgment, the resolution of conflict and settlement of disputes.  For mankind, peace is a pattern in social behavior, events, exchanges, and experience that is marked by the absence of conflict, enmity, pain, struggle, suffering, tension, uncertainty, and violence.  Therefore, peace is regarded as a product of human actions, attitudes, choice, discipline, intellect, reason, speech and wisdom (for example, see Proverbs 11:  11-13, Proverbs 17:  27-28 and even Mark 4:  38-40, KJV).  For our Maker, peace is an eternal substance that always appears with other aspects of divinity such as awareness, being, holiness, life, person, and presence.  Divine peace exists within the Almighty and is indivisibly emanated with completeness, perfection, immutability, and truth.  Through operations of the imparted, indwelling Spirit, created beings and living creatures acquire divine peace through change and growth; and peace is to be a permanent feature of their own make-up.  See Psalms 29:  11, Job 22:  21, Philippians 4:  7, Romans 8:  6 and Colossians 3:  15, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:  And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:  And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.  And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:  And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.  (Leviticus 16:  20-26, KJV)

“David G”, thank you for the chance to serve Jesus as my Savior by sharing a few points based upon his ministry to mankind demonstrated through Israel:

(1.)  Opposition to divine law was first expressed by a leader among the holy angels.  Created as finite beings with limited knowledge, limited abilities, and focused purpose, the angels are not mortal, neither are they immortal or incorruptible.  Their awareness and continuing existence do not depend upon conforming to the frameworks of time and space.  They are not all-knowing, do not have foreknowledge, and may not predict the future independent of divine utterance (e.g., law, proclamation, promise, and prophecy).

(2.)  In addition to the use of angels to serve as sacred messengers who appear to mankind, GOD employs angelic beings as servants who maintain order throughout the universe through ranks (e.g., dominions, principalities, thrones), and as those who praise and worship in the celestial presence (we say, heaven).

(3.)  Not all angels, or men, discern and recognize the defiance, disobedience, and rebellion of Satan (i.e., Adversary); and the ongoing process of divine judgment allows GOD to reveal the standards of absolute righteousness and the full nature of all who exist, including the rulers among the angels, and Christ, the Son of the Highest.  The true nature of sin goes beyond completing, performing poorly, or refusing to accept duty.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divinity, and all things put forth by GOD.  Human nature is not contrary or naturally opposed to that of the angels; and so many in the earth have dared agree with Satan and his followers embracing angelic error and sin.  Only by such operations of the Holy Spirit as baptism, death, rebirth, and repentance do men accomplish the multiple changes that are seen as resistance to sin, correct separation from Satan, and wrath against sin.

(4.)  Sovereign majesty and the fullness of Divine Person are not lessened or threatened by any finite being.  Sin did not first appear as upheaval and violence; and was not put forth from GOD as a creation, or an aspect of existence.  Because sin lacks divine matter and living substance, and of it itself is no material and physical matter, we say sin is “no thing,” sin cannot be detected without tools provided by GOD, and sin cannot be destroyed.  Even so, sin has direction, effect and presence; and sin may dominate awareness in created beings and living creatures.  Also, sin may diminish the endowment of spirit content (the breath of life) from GOD.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (5.)  The Son of GOD, Jesus, is also the divine High Priest who is now completing tasks that relate to atonement, judgment and purification of the heavenly Temple.  While Christ is ministering within the Sanctuary, the Savior is absent from among the host in the heaven, just as he is now hidden from believers in the earth.  With this in view, many committed Christian believers are satisfied that Satan has been divinely preserved, and will be employed as “a servant” for an indispensable role in the destruction of sin, that of a goat of sacrifice.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  Jesus is coming soon.  Grow in grace.

The possibility that Bible authors were pressured by Old Testament prophecy to fabricate accounts of Jesus as Messiah is challenged, today.  Also, there is more on the Tower of Babel, and unseen sin.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Edward” (Level 4 with 3,058 points, a member since February 13, 2013) posted the following:

Because the Jewish OT prophesied about the messiah, was it envitable that later Bible authors…?

would write about Jesus, having never met him, believing that they were being guided by the Holy Spirit in what they were writing was the truth?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Unseen Sin? (06/18/2013)—The Tower of Babel continues to be an important caution and warning for modern-day Christian believers.  A subtle and understated human principle comes into view that is widely embraced within democratic nations, the rule that there is strength in numbers:  Where enough people accept, agree upon, or perform a behavior, it may be accounted as “harmless”, “normal”, no longer a threat to society, and, therefore, no longer “sin” or an obstacle to right relationship with GOD.  In keeping with such thinking, Americans have seen Sabbath (Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays) become the time for exalting athletes and football rather than church attendance with praise to GOD; and holy matrimony with obligation to maintain heritage and priesthood from GOD through maintenance of traditional family is increasingly confounded by demands that same-sex  (homosexual and lesbian) relationships must be respected as lawful marriage.  Right relationship with GOD may not be founded upon temporal events or the ever-changing truth of human experience.  Affection, dreams, fantasy and imagination may color and add excitement, however, such vanities cannot be trusted as foundations for eternity.  The overriding principle from the holy writings must continue to come into view, the rule of judgment according to privilege:  Atonement also must be made for sins committed by an entire community that have been performed in ignorance of the divine law, of sacred process, and of the consecrated purposes of GOD (see Leviticus 4:  13-21, Luke 12:  47-48, Acts 3:  13-21, and 1st Timothy 1:  5-14, KJV).  On behalf of believers, Christ has completed all the necessary work for atonement, redemption, and salvation through his death on the cross.  It remains that each Christian believer must personally confess participation in the collective error, repent, and appropriate the holy provisions from Christ.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.  Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.  And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;  As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.  Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.  (2nd Peter 3:  9-18, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Words Spoken By GOD? (06/05/2013); Teachings on Judgment (06/06/2013); Why Jesus Authored No Books (05/01/2013); Recognizing True Prophets (05/02/2013); False Witness? (10/31/2010); Bible Complete? (11/01/2010); Holy Writings? (11/02/2010)

Edward, there are many points a person must consider, here, to avoid folly, presumption, and spiritual confusion.  Included are these:

(1)  The holy writings were carefully collected, fitted together and preserved as a tool for continuing a priesthood upon the earth that completes and finishes a sacred pattern in heaven.

(2)  Men who have no sacred knowledge or part in the priesthood, yet seek to handle and manipulate the Scriptures, may do so without fear of the Lord (i.e., humility and reverence; correct awareness of divine awe), or expectation of divine judgment and punishment.  However, these also are established in a self-awareness as attackers, blasphemers, mockers, and destroyers of faith and right knowing for others.  More than this, in addition to violating aspects of their own conscience and personal integrity, those who continue in such error must realize a decay and decomposition of their own sense of commitment, dutifulness, faithfulness, honor, righteousness, self-respect, and will power to embrace the things from GOD.

(3)  The divine endowments, knowledge, and motives of men are made visible and transparent through the holy writings.  Antichrists, charlatans, deceivers, false prophets, hypocrites, impostors and unclean spirits all are exposed by the Scriptures.

(4)  The operation of GOD and sacred process within created beings and living creatures may be communicated among men by their questions, responses to one another as well as their routine conduct, and is not only displayed and revealed through formal religious ceremony and ritual.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5)  The experience of knowing Jesus is through ones spirit content providing awareness that is shaped entirely by faith, an aspect of full divinity inseparable from such other divine substance as forgiveness, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom and wrath against sin.  The mundane elements of human discourse and intellect (we say, brilliance, cleverness, logic, reason) do not reveal the active presence of GOD, and cannot replace the imparted, indwelling Spirit available through the ministry of Jesus Christ that permits one to know GOD as GOD knows himself.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Conspiracy, sin, and the Tower of Babel are topics, today.  Also, there is more on finding a true Christian.  The “Yahoo! Answers” Top Contributor using ID “exs” (Level 5 with 9,932 points, a member since June 4, 2012) posted the following:

What is the deal with the tower of babel…god didn’t like people working together so he made it so they?

couldn’t get along, or was it as the bible says, that we would become gods if we worked together. Is god attacking people so we won’t work together. Is world peace against god’s plan

THE BATTLE AXE:  To Find A True Christian? (06/17/2013)—True Christians are those who continually confess that they are imperfect and incomplete without GOD.   Such believers correctly acknowledge that their love, their obedience, their reverence, their prayers, their service, their understanding, their worship all miss the mark, and are unacceptable to GOD without the grace divinity supplies.  Many are beset with sin that appears to be no sin, that is, ambition, envy, immaturity, lack of focus, and pride.  All Christian believers are in a process of divine transformation from mortal to immortal and incorruptible.  As such all are in transition, and continue as “works in progress.”  Sincerity and zeal are not acceptable measures for deciding a “true Christian.”  Many are sincere in their belief of false doctrine, errors, heresy, and lies.  (See Isaiah 66:  1-5, Philippians 3:  7-14 and Matthew 9:  10-13, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.  All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.  Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.  The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORDthough hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged:  and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.  (Proverbs 16:  1-6, King James Version)

“exs”, here are some important points acknowledged by many mature Christian believers as shared from GOD through Jesus Christ:

1)  Sin cannot be correctly detected and resisted by created beings and living creatures without various spiritual devices and tools provided by Almighty GOD.  Included are anointed leaders, divine law, righteous testimony, holy proclamations, sacred promise, prophecy, the holy writings, and the living examples of those who serve in ministry.

2)  Sin was first detected among the holy angels; however sin has neither being nor substance, and is not made up of any physical or spirit matter.   We say, sin is “no-thing;” yet, sin opposes the existence of divine law (i.e., the expressed will of GOD), the continued being of the Law Giver, and the continued existence of all under the authority and protection of the Law.  Sin may dominate self-will in created beings and living creatures; however, sin cannot alter or influence the will of GOD.

3)  Mankind was created to inhabit and maintain the entire earth.  The sons of Noah were to overspread the earth, and fulfill the first commission (be fruitful, multiply, and replenish).  However, mankind became committed to defiance and rebellion by working together to create a tower upon the earth that would allow access to heaven in case of another destroying flood.  Babel became a magnet and center (we say, city) to all.  Multiple offenses against GOD were committed thereby, including conspiracy, disobedience, idolatry, lack of faith, pride, self-promotion, and unbelief.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, 4)  The earth has been created by GOD, while the world has been the creation of mankind.  The world is a necessary human system for communication, exchange of resources, meeting shared challenges, solving shared problems, and survival.  Included in the world are culture, entertainment, history, medicine, politics, science and technology.  Because the world also embraces defilement of spirit, human error, and sin, the world repeatedly generates conflict between mankind and his Maker.  However, peace is not the outcome of conflict and war; peace comes only by restoration of order and the settlement of dispute through law, that is, by judgment.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

The testimony of the Apostle Paul and his standing as one who sinned despite great knowledge of the law are the focus, today. Also, there are more thoughts on ethics, government, leadership, and vigilance. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Will” (Level 2 with 305 points; a member since September 21, 2012) posted the following:

The Bible says sinners are of the devil, and Paul was sinning so does this mean he was of the devil?

“He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” 1 John 3:8

“I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” Romans 7:15

“Thanks be to God–through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.” Romans 7:25

THE BATTLE AXE: Thoughts Upon A Warrior’s Fall (11/15/2012)—Counsel from the holy writings continue as vital in defense of men and nations. Too many of our champions and guardians are now being defeated through cultural arrogance, spiritual ignorance, terrorism (not righteous warfare), and whoredom. Consider again: Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness (Proverbs 30: 20, KJV). The fall of Osama Ben Laden (at home, with family, and surrounded by a civilian population), and now the defeat of General Petraeus (by recklessness as a husband, and disgrace as a government official) were both upon battlefields that pertain to what the Qur’an identifies as jihad-al-akbar (the Greater Jihad). That peculiar teaching of jihad cautions believers that the day-to-day struggle against sin and evil occurring within oneself and their community as they daily pursue seemingly mundane yet lawful activity is more important in the acknowledgment of GOD than necessary armed combat, conflict, and warfare. Could properly “knowing the enemy” have altered the policy and goals of “dead or alive” with “kill rather than capture—U. S. forces appear to have granted their adversary the high honor of Islamic martyrdom. Going further, at a time when the Nation continues facing conflicts generated by the economy, the command structure of the military now appears more vulnerable and weak than ever before because of multiple violations of military codes and discipline, including the pursuit of carnal pleasure that undermines duty, and diminishes content of ones divine spirit. Surely, the comparisons will be made to Samson, the son of Manoah, and his fall through a consort, Delilah (see Judges 16, KJV). The American military may only become a symbol of social and spiritual corruption where the American people surrender their high standards for law, love, obedience, respect and truth. Before GOD, covenant as a community makes it that oneness in pursuit of shared carnal, political and social goals establishes oneness in accomplishment, accountability, dishonor, ignominy, and judgment (see Numbers 15: 30-41, Proverbs 20: KJV). Readers should also consider THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD: (11/19/2011) Girdle 4: The Sin Of Achan; (09/21/2011) Dispatch 42: Unprofitable Servants; (08/20/2011) Dispatch 12: Peace (David); (08/21/2011) Dispatch 13: Peace (The Lord)

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. (Romans 6: 5-11, KJV)

Mature believers in Jesus Christ as their own redeemer and savior generally agree that among the various rules for correct understanding from the Holy Scriptures is a strict requirement that a reader always look for harmony and agreement among the many fragments, parts and segments of the full presentation (i.e., from beginning to end). Those who seek contradictions, corruption and errors will remain blind to the divine content conveyed, and unable to receive the sacred substance the Scriptures transmit.

Saul of Tarsus is presented to the church as an “ordinary man” born through no miraculous events (as the Herald and Prophet, John the Baptist or as the promised Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth). Saul (later Paul) was educated and served the covenant of Moses as one whose inheritance was that of a Pharisee, and a Roman citizen. Deputized by leaders of the Temple Community, Paul became a leader in the persecution of the early church. His role as “lord, high executioner” gave him authority to arrest, detain, torture as well as endorse, oversee and act as official witness to public execution by stoning. Through those tormented and condemned, Paul was exposed to the doctrine and teachings of Christ; and became deeply impressed by the spirit content of believers in their conviction, their humility, their joy and acceptance of death. Paul was converted from ceremonial Judaism, and became convinced that GOD truly was working through an incarnation as the man Jesus of Nazareth. Christ appeared to Paul, who was traveling to Damascus to identify Christians there that were in hiding by forcing their families, friends, and fellow-believers to betray, and denounce them.

By the intervention of Christ and himself having received the Holy Ghost, Paul was able to realize that the Gospel was to be understood as the proclamation of eternal truth having application to more than merely historical, material, political and social realities. Such elements as ceremonies, customs, law, rites and traditions all were to be viewed in the light of divinity, spiritual purpose, and sacred process.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, unlike those who lack the imparted, indwelling Spirit, Paul realized that, apart from the provisions of GOD, the intelligence of created beings and living creatures cannot recognize the operation and presence of sin. The various forms of law (e.g., decrees, ordinances, practices, rituals, statutes, testimonies) permit some knowledge of sin, yet, do not eliminate sin. Through Jesus, mankind has now received greater tools for detecting and resisting sin: his human, yet, divine example as well as a divine endowment, the Holy Spirit. Sin, first discovered among the angels, speaks to more than simply naughty behavior, poor conduct and disobedience. Sin opposes divine law, divine being, and the existence of all Creation.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. (Isaiah 61: 1-3, KJV)

In the plan of GOD for the nations, Israel was to demonstrate to all mankind a proper covenant relationship through law, reverence, and worship. Such sacred process as divine atonement for sin; the fulfillment of proclamation, promise, and prophecy; the operation of mercy in godly judgment; and the revelation of grace were depicted through a system of governance, and continual sacrificial worship. The consecrated priesthood established under Moses was not charged with maintenance of civil law and routine social process. The Aaronic priest were to perform the sacred duties of the Tabernacle. After the time of Moses, when civic leaders served that were divinely appointed, the judges were understood as agents of GOD who were to function primarily as “deliverers”; however, the judges were not anointed as the priests.

Saul was anointed to be king by the prophet Samuel (who had previously anointed David). In carrying out the office of king, Saul immediately responded as a defender of the nation, and one who leads in war (see 1st Samuel 11). Saul was to wait for the arrival of Samuel before leading the people in offerings and sacrifice. However, Samuel was delayed; and Saul presumed (i.e., unlawfully exercised authority; took it upon himself) to make policy contrary to the word of GOD (see 1st Samuel 15).
The priesthood came under condemnation when Eli, through neglect and weakness, encouraged the irreverence and presumption of his two sons. Saul went into battle no longer having the support and the counsel of GOD. When the ark of GOD was brought down to the battlefield (as if an idol) to inspire the army, the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain as were Saul and his sons (see 1st Samuel 4: 11).

David was granted godly counsel through “seers”, and the provisions from the Tabernacle of Urim and Thummim in the regalia of the High Priest were not immediately available to him. Returning the ark to Jerusalem, and the building of a permanent house of GOD, were priority to David. Once the Tabernacle was restored and in operation, David instituted courses (schedules) for the service of the priest and Levites. Additionally, he established a music ministry that also provided the liturgy through his own poems and psalms. The service of David embraced the anointing of king, priest, prophet and judge. The dynasty (“house”) granted to David saw an inheritance that was not only civil authority, it also included sacred duty.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, the curse proclaimed against all the men who would come forth from Eli is seen having further fulfillment through Solomon, the son of David. The treachery of Abiathar, Joab and others (1st Kings 2: 27) could not be seen as politics to grab power over the Tabernacle; and was understood as further obedience to GOD.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
