Accepting the human condition while embracing divine provisions for judgment and eternal life are topics, today, along with more on complaining against leaders and those who serve as spiritual guides.  The “Yahoo! Christians, I’m confused about this, can you help me?

These two bible passages seem to contradict each other. I’m also having a hard time with only Christians going to heaven.:

Romans 2:9-16

9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism.
12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

Hebrews 11:6

6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

THE BATTLE AXE:  My Sheep Hear My Voice (03/08/2013)—While the men and women of the church must proclaim truths that do not change, they themselves must change.  All must learn, grow and be continually replenished until the final completion of their mortality.  Both maturation in emotional, intellectual mental, physical, and social aspects, and spiritual perfection must be completed within the framework of experience over time.  Given all employ such human tools as discovery, imitation, practice, risk-taking, trial and error learning, until his appearing, clergy and laity will come short of the high standard in Christ (see Romans 3:  19-27 and Ephesians 4:  1-32, KJV).  The legitimate processes for censure of elders and officers within the church body are marked by continuing pursuit of the sacred mission to provide spiritual benefits such as certainty, faith, growth, healing, instruction, nourishment, and strength.  The spirit for censure is never self-justification, self-righteousness, or self-promotion.  The chastisement, correction and humbling of those within the church hierarchy should come naturally as every single member shows the Lord to be present in power through their own lives as believers.  Where there is a genuine desire to provide correction and supply missing spiritual guidance, errors and dissatisfaction with the performance of church leaders must be expressed displaying balance, dutifulness, humility, respect, and thoroughness.  The duty of the believer is not to talk about another churchman; it is to talk to him sharing from ones own endowment of the holy.  Those in rebellion against divine authority and seeking to corrupt the legitimate sacred process of the church typically do so making diabolical and unholy attacks characterized by envy, exaggeration, insults, levity, malice, prejudice, racism, sexism, tasteless humor, presumption, profanity, sarcasm, selfishness, slander, and spite.  Extreme, final and irreversible action may be urged on the basis of bias, false witness, fear, gossip, half-truths, lies, rumors, speculations, and undocumented charges.  To advocate carefully hearing and reflecting upon the defense and explanations of those accused usually result in others also being berated, condemned and slandered as accessories, dupes, as those in complicity and consenting to conspiracy, or even as those who are criminal, weak, unbelieving, unmanly, and ungodly.  Even so, subversive agents, counterfeit believers, and instruments of the Adversary are easily recognized because they do not seek agreement, closure, consensus, resolutions of problems, or the production of godly fruit.  Their efforts center upon venting anger, confrontation, denying power to others, destruction, and revenge.  The ministry of Jesus demonstrated that challenging the clergy and leadership of the worship community can be even more delicate than correcting parental authority and those committed as loved ones and caretakers.  Believers are cautioned to discern those sent by GOD whom to challenge is to challenge GOD himself.  Apply again the counsel from Scripture:  Matthew 18:  15-17, 2nd Thessalonians 3:  11-15, 1st Timothy 5:  17-22, Jude 8-23, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble:  and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.  But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.  And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.  (Malachi 4:  1-3, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  No Contradictions? (01/15/2013); Why A “Spokesperson?” (01/14/2013); Confusion 2013 (01/13/2013); And This Was Good News (12/01/2012); Contradictions? (11/23/2012); According to the Eternal Purpose (11/20/2012)

All who come to Christ for salvation “have a hard time”, until they come into full maturity and acceptance of GOD.  Apart from Christ,  human self-will is not correctly directed to acknowledge divinity, denies authority to the will of GOD, and repeatedly opposes the multitude of spiritual laws that generate divine order.  There are a myriad of fixed, non-negotiable, and unalterable conditions for human existence, for covenant with GOD, for divine judgment, for redemption, sanctification and salvation.  Saying this another way, “We can’t separate the wet from the water!  It’s not that we don’t like the rain, we just hate that it gets us soaked.  Eventually, all our efforts to deny, ignore and change the established aspects of sacred reality result in damnation, disappointment, embarrassment, humiliation, loss, and pain.”

Self-will in created beings and living creatures respond to sin—an influence opposing the existence of divine law, of divine person, and of all that has been created by GOD.  Sin first became known among the holy angels who challenged the need for divine law.  Awareness in the created cannot detect sin apart from the law, for sin does not exist as any carnal, material or spirit substance.  Because human consciousness is dominated by the flesh (i.e., appetite such as hunger, thirst, cravings for sexual contact; sensation such as hearing, seeing, touching, and mental functions such as fantasy, imagination and thought) divine truth and sacred content again must be imparted to those in the earth that will enable resistance to sin, and prepare mankind for the full transformation demanded by eternal life.  The very aspects of GOD must exist within those who will continue as companions to GOD, and as a permanent part of divine experience.  Included are incorruptibility, faith, holiness, love and immortality.

The contradictions found within the holy writings usually appear as a product of our own human error, and spiritual immaturity.  The scriptures are suitable as a precise human tool for revealing things that are totally divine in the same way that bananas may be used in place of watermelons:  ignoring their differences in size, shape, thickness and weight, they are exactly the same!  Both are green (at least, at first), both are fruit, and both taste pretty good as snack items.  More to the point:  these fruit function to convey life by distributing and protecting nourishment, refreshment and seed.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, judgment is imperative and non-negotiable because judgment pertains to divine existence, not merely to likes, dislikes, preferences and whims.  More than simply a relationship with GOD (wherein men could be his equal) must come into view.  All will be examined for the content of GOD as an aspect of their being.  Thus, there are many peculiar expressions and ideas for Christian belief.  Included are “born again,” “raised from the dead,” “dead to sin, yet alive to God,” “the imparted, indwelling spirit,” “the Comforter,” “the Spirit of Truth” and “filled with the Holy Ghost.”)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Whether GOD responds to prayer asking victory for competing athletes, and more on the perfection of the law are topics, today. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Oscar Manuel Perez” (Level 3 with 1,920 points, a member since April 9, 2011) posted the following:

May God bless Dallas Cowboys, my team. LOL, will you pray for me, lol?

THE BATTLE AXE: The Law Not Flawed (12/30/2012)—In the terms of its unique purpose, the law is perfect, and accomplishes every aspect of its divine intent (Romans 7: 12, KJV). The law only fails where we ask from the law what the law has not been designed to do. While the divine law is an inheritance for the people of GOD that establishes a level of security, the law does not automatically bestow real property (land), social position, and worldly wealth. Those who are accounted as faithless or godless may usually also be regarded as lawless. The law cannot eliminate sin; however the law may illuminate and make the presence of sin known where sin would be otherwise invisible. Law does not control and influence where the carnal mind has dominion; for the carnal mind consists of mechanical operations of the flesh (such as appetite, imagination, sensation, and fantasy), and is not subject to the Spirit of GOD (see Romans 8: 5-14, KJV). Thus, in accordance with the Gospel, the law of GOD is for those sinners seeking change, repentance and the righteousness of GOD (1st Timothy 8-10, KJV), and provides guidance as a standard of correction, rather than a rod for condemnation and punishment.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8: 28, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Why No Answer? (08/25/2012); GOD Does Exist (03/20/2012); Idols of Flesh (03/12/2012); The Work of Jesus (03/13/2012); Gangs? (12/02/2010)

You will probably find the answer from mature Christians to be somewhat disappointing. Blessings from GOD are provided so that believers may carry out and perform divine intent; and divine blessing pertains to spiritual rebirth, growth, and perfection of Creation. As with human warfare and struggle on the battlefield of blood, GOD is active and present during athletic competitions through the commitment and faith of the individuals that make up the units in conflict, the team or sports organization. The depth of each man’s personal relationship with GOD will shape his attitude, his effort, his obedience to coaching, and his being in sync with others.

The answers of GOD to prayer for victory may be seen in the healing of injury, or that participants may bring to the game soundness of body and clarity of mind. Even so, the divine purposes focus upon the forgiveness of sin, the revelation of divine person, and the sanctification of both heaven and earth. A divine judgment is now in process that does not focus on human behavior and conduct, or how men entertain themselves in the earth through the flesh. The Gospel of Jesus Christ exhibits the standard for the searching of our lives; and the emphasis is upon the divine content of ones spirit, rather than diet and foods, sexual behavior, and verbal exchanges. The imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD is not a spirit of combativeness and competition. The church and kingdom of GOD are built up and edified only by a holy spirit of cooperation.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, many say “luck” favors those who are well prepared. GOD favors those who are dutiful, faithful, holy, obedient, reverent, righteous, and wise. To the extent the games center in covetousness, ego, pride, and self-promotion, the games must be understood as idolatry, ungodliness and whoredom.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

The importance of divine wrath and sacred knowledge to spirit-filled preaching is considered, today. Also, there is more on the spirit of man as the candle of GOD. The Yahoo Answers” writer using the ID “Jack Covie” (Level 1 with 20 points, a member since December 20, 2012) posted the following:

Why are so many spineless Christians today preaching about love and peace and not about God’s wrath?

What happened to hellfire and brimstone preaching?

I grew up in Tennessee in the 1950s. Back then the preachers were fiery men of passion. They didn’t try to be politically correct. They weren’t afraid to offend people. They said without hesitation that if you die without God you will be sent to hell to burn forever. No ifs ands or buts. But today you have fools preaching about love, and God does love everyone, but he also has vengeful side that will strike you fools down.

THE BATTLE AXE: Candles of GOD? (12/26/2012)—Almighty GOD uses the spirit of man both to see (i.e., identify the nuances within human makeup), and to be seen (i.e., reveal himself). In such examination and judgment, behavior and conduct are not the focus of GOD so much as the presence of specific aspects of divine substance that make a person fit to be in communion and have fellowship with GOD as well as to fulfill prophecy, to receive spiritual increase, and to perform sacred service. The purpose of judgment, then, is not destruction and punishment so much as appreciation (assigning right value), correction, making the most effective use of spiritual resources, and providing maximum sacred benefits. While sin has appeared as an influence upon the will of created beings and living creatures, sin does not directly control and manipulate ones spirit content. The focus and power of spirit continually changes, however, the makeup of human spirit is constant, and presents as both animal and divine expression. The divine nature may be permanently amplified, concentrated or reconfigured through death, prophecy, rebirth, and sanctification.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2nd Peter 1: 2-8, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Love in Christ (10/23/2012); Unconditional Love (03/28/2012); On Properly Setting Our Sights (03/29/2012); Justice Comes by Love? (10/01/2012); A Daily Revelation (10/02/2012); Girdle 28: Grounded In Love (12/13/2011); Girdle 7: Gateways (11/22/2011); Binder 38: Everlasting Kindness (11/04/2011)

Many mature Christian believers agree that “hell fire and brimstone” preaching centers in emotion, feeling, the flesh, and the law, rather than in the person of Jesus, the many sacred purposes of GOD, the work of spreading the Gospel, or the changes and choices one must make in order to receive the Holy Ghost. The imparted, indwelling spirit from GOD (also called the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Prophecy), establishes divinity within the believer that otherwise exists only in Divine Person. Included are balance, holy boldness, hope, faith, joy, longsuffering, love, piety, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin. (These aspects of divine content are inseparable, such that, where one appears, all are present.)

Wrath against sin is not a temporary feature describing divine displeasure. Manifest as the law and truth, wrath makes sin known to created beings and living creatures. Sin is no carnal, material, physical or social “thing.” Sin, that first appeared among the angels, and was made visible through behavior, has not been created by GOD, and may not be eliminated simply by changing ones conduct. Sin opposes the existence of divine being, divine law, and the entire Creation of GOD. Wrath is a permanent aspect of divine being, and should not be confused with human anger, temper, and rage that comes and goes as a disposition or mood. Wrath pertains to sacred processes such as death, judgment, resurrection, and sanctification.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, fear of the Lord (awe) and wrath against sin are not the same, yet the two are one (i.e., complements). Believers are called to acquire sacred knowledge, and to operate with full awareness of divine grace. Faith and feeling are to be in balance with reason; for thereby, the whole person of Christ is displayed: both he who overturned the tables of the money changers in the Temple having a scourge in his hands, and he who wept over Jerusalem.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
