Today, focus is upon Jesus dying upon the cross and other operations performed by divinity to establish eternal life.  For Christian believers, the glory of GOD that exalts the divine nature as far above that routinely found within humanity is seen more through correction, forgiveness, mercy, and peace than by coercion, imposing ones will, punishment, and violence.  The world community is correct to suspect the integrity, maturity and sanity of any  actor or movement claiming to operate as a legitimate messenger or spokesperson from GOD.  Recent acts of terrorism deserve only our condemnation, for they all have failed to display the awesomeness, goodness, purity and righteousness of GOD.  The various attacks instead have shown only murderous human ambition, anger, criminal deception, envy, warped sentiment, and the wretchedness of isolated individuals.  Many now are in error believing that their highest service to GOD—the Creator of all life—is by human actions that are yet carnal, material and social, and that at best may only condemn others, destroy oneself as a martyr, and eliminate a few sinners through conflict and holy war.  By contrast, atonement, redemption, salvation, death, resurrection, and even final judgment of the created are carried out by Sovereign Deity to prepare and embrace those from among the living who will be made immortal and incorruptible to exist as life companions with GOD.  The activity, direction, motives, and purposes visible as life and sacred substance within created beings and living creatures should therefore be accounted as precious, the gift of GOD imparted from the Creator through grace.  The fighter at “Yahoo! 7 Answers (Australia)” using the ID “?” (Level 1 with 59 points, a member since June 24, 2016) posted the following:

Why was Jesus’s death on the cords necessary for people to be able to enter heaven?

If God wanted to forgive our sins, why not just forgive them? Who is God trying to impressive? Presumably himself, since he’s judge and juror, as well as execution victim.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:  that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  For he that is dead is freed from sin.  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.  For in that he died, he died unto sin once:  but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:  but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.  (Romans 6:  3-12, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Going To The Cross (05/25/2016); Presumption Is Never Helping (05/23/2016); Sacred Knowledge and Christ (05/16/2016); The Cross and Mankind (05/13/2016); It Takes The Cross (04/22/2016); The Cross and Creation (03/24/2016); The Cross Must Occur? (02/23/2016); The Bridge To Heaven (01/27/2016)

“?”, Jesus Christ dying upon the cross represents all the sacred operations required to establish the full Creation.  In the same way human behavior and the responses a person makes in different situations depends upon many factors that seem to be unrelated, and may be hidden or below the surface, divinity also responds to multiple aspects within the character, nature and substance of events, material objects, persons, and purposes.  The operations of sin oppose the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and the entire Creation that relies upon sacred law and  divine order.  While sinners are released from continuing to sin by death, the consequences and effects of sin remain, and are not eliminated.  The “management” of sin requires a full  transformation of all that exists as well as of all who live.  In part, the created must acquire sacred knowledge and perform sacred practices (we say, sacraments).

The revelation of GOD whereby created beings and living creatures experience communication, exchange, interaction and relationship with the Maker occurs only through multiple operations of spirit substance that include absolution, cleansing, forgiveness, and healing; atonement; confession; incarnation; inheritance; praise; prayer; proclamation; promise; prophecy; repentance; resurrection; and sanctification.  Thus, correctly understood, a goal of “going to heaven when you die” is useless apart from a commitment to exist in this present world as a life companion to divinity (we say, born again believer; child of GOD; vessel of divine Spirit).

Just as the processes of death and mortality have already begun and are ongoing for those upon the earth, eternal life may begin today for those who embrace Jesus Christ as their redeemer and savior.  Permanent changes are made within a believer through water baptism that include death of ones inborn spirit, burial of the “human nature” derived from Adam, and rebirth from divine seed, so to speak.  The believer must acquire inseparable aspects from the makeup of GOD such as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Consider how some of this appears stated in the language of the Bible:

(1.)  2nd Peter 1:  2-4, King James Version (KJV):  2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:  that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

(2.)  Ephesians 3:  14-19, KJV:  14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,  15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;  17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

There is far more that could be said, must be carefully examined, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (3.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, Scriptures are shared responding to a question on spirit warfare.  Properly understood, destruction and death are not the highest manifestation of divine glory.  The most sublime display of supernal glory is incarnation, where divinity takes on carnal form, or operates from within created beings and living creatures as an imparted, indwelling, Spirit from GOD (we say, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth).  As those in warfare under the authority of GOD, believers do not decide who is the enemy, or what is their target, any more than those in secular forces may choose the flag to be raised, or the uniform to be worn.  Christian believers do not embrace any teaching on jihad that identifies divine warfare where mankind is set in opposition to mankind.  Because cleansing, the works of faith, eternal life, healing, and salvation are the primary purposes revealed by divinity through Jesus Christ, Christian warfare does not center in the usual carnal objectives of conquest, conscripting laborers and slaves, expanding territory, and seizing the property and wealth of others.  The Holy Spirit empowers and enables operations to prepare a harvest from the earth of those who are spiritually ripe.  No works in the name of GOD—including those to carry out divine judgment and wrath against sin—are driven or fueled by the finite human tools that typically ignite and maintain deadly conflict such as anger, bitterness, spiritual confusion, envy, error, ethnic arrogance, hatred, immaturity, malice, racism, and revenge.  Readers are encouraged to think about the following verses from the Bible as they review the comments below:

2nd Timothy 2:  23-26, King James Version (KJV):  23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.  24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,  25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

2nd Timothy 2:  3-5, KJV:  3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.  4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.  5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Romans 13:  11-12, KJV:  11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:  for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.  12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand:  let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

2nd Timothy 4:  6-8, KJV:  6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Romans 8:  35-39, KJV:  35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.  To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.  (1st Peter 5:  6-11, KJV)

“Anonymous”, the Deity a Christian serves is a god of Judgment, and one who never separates from anger against and opposition to sin.  The serious language of conflict and spiritual warfare is used among those who are disciples of Jesus Christ to establish awe (i.e., the correct awareness of divine authority and power as eternal and matchless; we also say, fear of the Lord) and humility as well as to complete baptism (i.e., death of ones inborn spirit; rebirth from divine seed) and sanctification (i.e., being isolated, or set apart for sacred service).  What we endure here, now, gets us ready to be fully transformed at the appearing of Jesus.  Until then, multiple works are being carried out by divinity to make permanent changes in a believers character, spirit content, and living nature.  Those born again must gradually “grow up again” while living upon the earth, and becoming mature and perfected through growing pains that may include bereavement, life challenges, disappointments, duties, obstacles, losses, repentance, reversals, sacrifice, and sufferings.  Consider again the following Scriptures:

(1.)  1st Corinthians 15:  50-56, King James Version (KJV):  50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,  52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:  for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?  56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

(2.)  2nd Corinthians 10:  3-5, KJV:  3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

(3.)  Ephesians 6:  10-12, KJV:  10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Today, reply is made to a charge that, through law and judgment, divinity operates as do terrorist groups.  Caliphate, covenant relationship, sin, and the worship of idols are topics along with reverence toward the Maker as the necessary condition wherein all created beings and living creatures are to exist.  Divine law has not been established to inhibit cleansing, correction, forgiveness, and repentance.  The operations of sin promote the elimination of divine law, Deity, and all that is, has been or ever will be put forth from GOD.  In the scheme of GOD the crime of a thief is not merely one of taking away from another some temporal object that will eventually break, or perhaps be lost anyhow.  The offense is against all law, divine order, and the universe that is laid out with myriad unseen streams in flux.  It is deceit and idolatry to promote any thing from finite imagination and mind as having authority, power, and divine substance that are to be obeyed, reverenced and worshiped as a god.  Included are buildings, family, freedom, land, military forces, money, sexual pleasure, and weapons.  Yet through sin, awareness, intellect and self-will in the living are led to manufacture abominations, abstractions, and false gods for deliverance, godliness, prosperity, and salvation.  By spiritual confusion human error is maintained as though generated from and approved by the Eternal One.  Readers are to realize, there have been caliphates before, and they failed to manifest the presence of GOD; for both mechanism and process must be of GOD.  Conflict, fear, pain, and violence can not be made to appear as the fruit of supreme righteousness.  Consider the following verses from the Bible, and the presentation below:  John 10:  9-11, King James Version (KJV):  9 I am the door:  by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.  10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:  I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  11 I am the good shepherd:  the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  Also, John 18:  36-38, KJV:  36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world:  if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews:  but now is my kingdom not from hence.  37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.  38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.  Psalms 115:  2-8, KJV:  2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?  3 But our God is in the heavens:  he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.  4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.  5 They have mouths, but they speak not:  eyes have they, but they see not:  6 They have ears, but they hear not:  noses have they, but they smell not:  7 They have hands, but they handle not:  feet have they, but they walk not:  neither speak they through their throat.  8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.  The fighter at “Yahoo! In the bible, God prescribes the death penalty for worshiping other gods, adultery, and homosexuality. How is that different from ISIS/Daesh?

Deuteronomy 13 says to kill those who even think of worshiping other gods (no freedom of religion)
Leviticus 20:13 says to kill gays.
Leviticus 20:20 says to kill adulterers.

Why do ISIS and God agree so much?

Update: Is there some logical reason that God once held the same opinions as terrorists?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.  Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned:   but what sayest thou?  This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.  So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.  And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.  And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last:  and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?  She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee:  go, and sin no more.  (John 8:  4-11, KJV)

“King Apologist”, it is very difficult for most of us to correctly speak of ISIS, or the diverse followers of Islamic belief where we are properly grounded as disciples of Jesus Christ.  The  spiritual maturity that comes by having sacred knowledge and an imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD is required to properly speak of divine intent.  Answering honestly, many would have to confess ignorance of what anyone else believes who does not demonstrate faith similar to their own, and made visible by sacred practices and works.  From my perspective as one willing to say, I am submitted to GOD (musleem) as was Abraham, ISIS advocates idolatry by focus upon a human solution (a government ruled by men; they say, caliphate) that is to be exalted above eternal purpose, divine law, and imparted Spirit.  For sake of the caliphate the living are to embrace death; forswear family, friends, homeland; deny the duty for those who are strong to protect children, civilians in wartime, the disabled, and those who are weak; and refuse all other contracts and covenants, even that of jihad-al-Akbar.

Those who left Egypt with Moses, were challenged to willingly enter agreement with a divinity whose character and nature are made known and revealed through creation, deliverance, judgment, prophecy, and covenant relationship.   Terms of the agreement included obedience to all commandments and proclamations of divine law as well as acceptance of operations by divinity to establish permanent changes within mankind upon the earth.  Israel was to become a peculiar people, and a nation formed in the image of GOD.  The new nation would be healed, purified, and set apart for continuing service and worship (we say, sanctified) through every aspect of exchange and interaction for its people.

A mixed multitude representing many nations joined those from the twelve tribes of Jacob requesting that GOD impose even the harshest punishments and death for transgression of divine law (we say, sin), rather than have GOD deny to them the special place of those who are partners in covenant with divinity.  As the instruments of Deity, the covenant people are in a process of continuous growth and transformation.  Thus, while Deity is eternal, immutable and unchanging, terms of the covenant may be altered, yet, not removed.  Responses made to created beings and living creatures appear as “new” through diversity, discovery, and the unfolding of perfection.

There is far more that must be said to fully shift a person’s understanding regarding that that is holy (i.e. having the active presence, and eternal purposes of divinity).  For example:  The sinful practices acquired by seeking to participate in the one-world empire of the Egyptians (i.e., assimilation) had to be reversed over time.  Almost immediately, while Moses was away in communion with GOD to receive the law written by the finger of GOD upon tables of stone, his brother Aaron, who was to serve as High Priest, led the people in worshiping the golden calf of Egypt.  The change we speak of only comes without upheaval and widespread destruction through grace, mercy, and divine prerogative.  Thousands of years later, 10 tribes would reject rule by the house of David.  Jeroboam, who was exiled to Egypt, would establish the Northern Kingdom (Israel); and to prevent the people being influenced by the requirement for all sacrifices to be made only at the Temple at Jerusalem, and returning to the Unified Kingdom—Jeroboam established worship of the golden calf.  Restoration for the house of David, and the continuing fulfillment of all covenant are to be seen as completely accomplished only where GOD will appear in flesh as Christ, Messiah, and Divinity Incarnate.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith and willingness to be made spiritually mature.

Today, faith, jihad, judgment, and performing the duties of sacred law are topics.  Every legitimate public executioner is held accountable by principles expressed as law, and recognized by every sovereign nation.  More than this, no demand for monies are made that give off the stench of crime and extortion.  All believers must carefully examine those claiming to be “sent” who promote themselves as agents and representatives carrying out the will of Almighty GOD.  In divine judgment, it is the righteousness of GOD—not of mankind—that must appear.  The sacred process of judgment is demonstrated against chosen ones who are in service to GOD, rather than those being exalted by others like themselves.  Where what is shown the world is only condemnation, death, destruction, and self-righteousness, the supposed servants of GOD can be seen as merely presumptuous heathen, and rightly regarded as having no part with He who rules heaven, who provides eternal life.  A fighter at “Yahoo! THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God:  the powers that be are ordained of God.  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God:  and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:  For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain:  for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.  Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.  For for this cause pay ye tribute also:  for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.  Render therefore to all their dues:  tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another:  for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour:  therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.  (Romans 13:  1-10, KJV)

“Michael Vick’s”, here are a few points now increasingly shared among Christian believers to counteract the terrible spread of ignorance about the true meanings of “duty” and “faith”:

(1.)  The term musleem (akin to “muslim” yet not the same) is understood as “being in total submission to GOD.”  The patriarch Abraham, acknowledged in the holy writings as “the Friend of GOD” also is revered as having been musleem.  Abraham established a spiritual inheritance for mankind as a covenant partner in relationship to the Creator.

(2.)  The holy writings teach that GOD used Israel as a tool in revelation to demonstrate divine authority, grace, and wrath against sin.  As surely as GOD created the armies of Israel using herders and keepers of livestock, because they lacked faith, he also denied them the place as those who would serve by populating the Promised Land.  Similarly, when King David wanted to build a Temple that would be the House of GOD, his status as a bloody warrior-king disqualified him.

(3.)  Where “faith” is understood as spirit matter that must be deposited within mankind from divinity, selected men may become recognized as those in covenant with GOD who serve as agents, apostles, imams, judges, prophets, representatives, rulers, and spokespersons provided by Deity.

(4.)  In the same way, law enforcement officers are not judges and jurists, those claiming status as soldiers and warriors are not legitimate as executioners who are lawfully appointed officers of the court (often mistakenly seen as corrections officers, that is, prison guards).  Similarly, soldiers are not used as clerics or workers of miracles (we say, sacred events), given the great danger of increasing spiritual confusion.

(5.)  Lawful agents of a community in covenant are authorized to apply sanctions against other members within the community, however, not to those who  are “outsiders”.  Such servants must make themselves openly known, yet, can appear “wearing the mask” to maintain their integrity as agents of the law who would come under attacks from those punished through the law.  The lack of regard for law and order on a broader scale that also acknowledges operations of GOD within other communities does not continue to manifest the higher purposes of GOD proclaimed by unity.

(6.)  Sin may not be eliminated or removed by finite human tools such as emotions, intellect, logic, mathematics, philosophy, pride, and science.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and the universe that requires divine order grounded in law.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (7.)  Service in combat and open warfare are declared to be “the lesser jihad.”  The “greater jihad” is the pursuit of life and peace by service to establish and maintain community.  Thus, family life, marriage, and parenting are to be ranked as blessing, more godly, and having higher sacred value.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of your faith.

(11/05/2014)—(5.)  Christian believers are to abide (i.e., continue to live) in a sacred condition established by atonement and propitiation (i.e., favor won on their behalf) through the ministry of Jesus Christ.  Salvation pertains to divine judgment, and is first provided as a legal status in the same way as birthright, crowning of a monarch, and inheritance.  An employee must first describe their ability through job applications and interviews, be hired, arrive to work on time consistently, and perform necessary tasks before finally being paid according to a pay schedule and agreement.  Believers are to maintain fellowship with others committed to Christ, carry out sacred practices, maintain self-discipline, and continue their spiritual growth meeting the same challenges, difficulties, and hardship as all others upon the earth.  However, believers will be strengthened by sacred knowledge of divine covenants, promises, proclamations, and prophecies from GOD that provide certainty, comfort, hope, joy, prosperity, and peace.  As a result believers complete their preparation, and are granted full acceptance and access into the divine presence at the second coming of Christ as the redeemer and savior who provides eternal life.  Consider again John 17:  3, 2nd Corinthians 7:  10, James 1:  12, 1st Peter 4:  11-13, 1st John 5:  20, Revelation 2:  10-11 and 21:  6-8, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.  And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD:  even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.  And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,  And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?  Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?  And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,  If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.  And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;  Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.  O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do:  but our eyes are upon thee.  And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.  (2nd Chronicles 20:  3-13, KJV)

“Catherine Tanya Gee”, here are a few points that agree with Bible-based Christian belief:

(1.)  GOD has never declared or pursued war against mankind for control of the earth and conquest.  However, divinity has created armies as instruments who serve in judgment against covenant-breakers.  Those who left Egypt with Moses to enter the Promised Land are a clear example.

(2.)  Those pursuing holy war, jihad, and other religious conflicts usually do so as humans and individuals having no ongoing relationship with divinity such as prophecy and revelation, who are convicted of peculiar teachings from holy writ.  Such fighters have political aims of establishing human government, controlling commerce and trade, imposing ethnic and cultural traditions upon others, possessing real property (we say, land), reenacting events from earlier historical eras regarded as a “golden age” as well as outlawing or regulating public and private worship.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Those who serve as divine agents in judgment also themselves must endure judgment, and are not exempt from obedience to sacred law.  Christian believers who submit to perform the will of GOD are to be in a direct communication with GOD established by an imparted, indwelling spirit having the makeup of divinity (e.g., faith, holiness, longsuffering, joy, peace, wisdom, wrath against sin).  The Holy Spirit (some say, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth) establishes that human awareness and self-will wherein correction is above punishment, mercy above condemnation, and salvation above eternal torment.  Otherwise, the focus of warfare is only death, destruction, domination, and selfishness; and only the bestial and sin nature of mankind will be displayed.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Devotion, redemption and sacrifice are topics, today.  Also, there is more on deferring judgment.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Methoozelah” (Level 1 with 89 points, a member since February 24, 2014) posted the following originally asked on Yahoo Answers Canada:

Beloved Christians! Please help me! I am having difficulty understanding Romans 12:1 – Can you reassure me?

Romans 12:1: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship”

Now even though I am opening myself up to the possibility of having a faith please tell me that this verse means that I have to become a FUNDAMENTALIST ISLAMIC MILITANT JIHADIST!… please tell me this is not so? Surely not, right?

Surely this verse is metaphorical or allegorical or non literal in some way, so how may I ask, might I offer my body as a living sacrifice in the holiest of holy ways so as to give pleasure to God?

Any ideas?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Deferring Judgment? (03/06/2014)—(5.)  Knowledge of The Kingdom.  The kingdom of GOD inhabits divine operations, sacred processes, and eternal purpose.  Because there is no simple formula, or collection of words that may be used to explain the spirit action and nature divinity, when Jesus taught regarding the kingdom of GOD, the Savior repeatedly used descriptions of life process, examples from human experience, parables to illustrate, and suggestions.  The kingdom of GOD is not a physical location, or place upon the earth.  Nor is the kingdom an aggregate, an institution, or a social body.  In the same way we do not immediately apprehend that GOD is a spirit whom we must worship in spirit and in truth, created beings and living creatures can not fully grasp their own divine aspect, and the full reality of judgment and all sacred process.  (6.)  Sin not Eliminated By Death.  Death may not wipe away all sin, however, eternal life may.  Once dead the awareness and self-will of a sinner is no longer dominated and driven by sin.  Even so, death does not release any from the influence of sin, for there are continuing consequences among the living, conditions established by sin that serve as challenges and limitations, and the deceased must yet appear in a divine judgment that is to conclude all the “unfinished business” of resolving conflicts, and settling disputes.  Similarly, the death of Jesus upon the cross did not eliminate sin.  However, the sacrificial death at Calvary, and the falling of the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, did seal a new covenant whereby mankind would overcome sin through anointing, baptism (we say, death and rebirth having divine DNA), faith, forgiveness, and new life.  Repentance pertains to life; and only he who is without sin is worthy to “cast the first stone.”  (7.)  Sin Exposed.  For the people of GOD, there is much we are not to repeat, yet, we are not to forget.  Men are driven by appetite (demands such as hunger, thirst, and craving for sexual contact) from cradle to grave as a mechanical and necessary aspect of carnal being.  The ministry of reconciliation acknowledges that human errors and mistakes while growing, learning, and mastering appetite are not all to be understood as persistent and unchanging sin.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, of GOD as Law Giver, and of all in Creation that responds to divine law.  Sin is not a spirit or life essence put forth by GOD, yet, awareness and self-will for created beings and living creatures may be dominated by sin.  Many blindly accept sin as a natural aspect of human nature, and therefore do not recognize that sin is contrary to their own divine aspect, foreign, strange, and suicidal.  Through Jesus Christ, GOD now is using an imparted Spirit that establishes new spiritual life to operate through choices and decisions of the created.  In addition to sacred law, that identifies sin and its various negative outcomes, GOD employs multiple devices to display cautions and warnings against sin.  Included are confession, evil (calamity, catastrophe, upheaval), life experiences, penitence, praise, prayer, promises, prophecy, sacraments, sacred events (we say, miracles), testimony, and witness.  Finite beings can not eliminate sin relying only upon intellect, logic, reason, and science.  In the same way the poor are always with us for our benefit, it is necessary that peculiar displays of sin be made repeatedly, and that sin be exposed through the light of continued godliness and right doing as well as by sacred truth.  Thus, correctly understood, for the Christian believer, life and all this is about the revealing of GOD, and not about the human predicament.  (8.)  The Authority of the Church.  It is a legitimate task of the church to prepare men for judgment.  While the church may bind and loose upon the earth to remit and retain sin, the church may only deny communion and fellowship to those who sin (we say, excommunicate), and may not absolutely annul, remove, or terminate anyone’s eternal life.  Sin among the priesthood should now be recognized among believers as a divine tool, like the law, whereby sin becomes “exceeding sinful,” and the righteousness of GOD is further exalted.  See Ecclesiastes 8:  8-13, Matthew 13:  1-35, Matthew 18:  1-35, John 8:  1-11, John 20:  23, 1st Corinthians 15:  50-58, Romans 6:  1-23, Romans 7:  12-13 and Revelation 1:  1-3, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious:  and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.  Unto you therefore which believe he is precious:  but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,  And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient:  whereunto also they were appointed.  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:  which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.  (1st Peter:  2:  1-10, KJV)

“Methoozelah”, the expression “living sacrifice” written in the New Testament must be understood in agreement with things written in the Old.  Consider the following:

(1.)  Dedication.  Anything devoted (we say, promised) to GOD must be turned over to the Almighty by its placement upon the altar of sacrifice.  The altar serves as a holy platform or “table” where heaven and earth are in contact.  Dedicated offerings and sacrifices are purified and transferred to GOD through holy fire; and the separation of material from sacred substance is completed upon the altar.  It is only upon the altar that sin is separated from gratitude, humility, reverence, and praise.

(2.)  Redemption.  In the covenant of Israel, all the firstborn throughout the nation were dedicated to GOD, including the first of ones children as well as of ones cattle.  Provisions to preserve the life of a firstborn child so they would not be slain upon the altar included (a) the entire tribe of Levi would be offered in place of the firstborn from the other tribes, (b) by payment of a fee, dedicated offerings would not be placed upon the altar, (c) the sacrifice would be accounted as unfit, and its neck would be broken to utterly destroy it, or (d) the dedicated thing would remain the property of GOD, and would continue in living service within the Tabernacle or Temple.

(3.)  Sacrifice.  Death and law are both tools of GOD to provide sacred structure and process for the living (we say, divine order).  The revealed purposes of GOD for created beings and living creatures pertain to eternal life, rather than to destruction and violence.  Through Jesus Christ, sacrifice is demonstrated as a life process characterized by internalizing the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD.  Through a fresh endowment of the same divine matter that was breathed into Adam, believers are made able to operate in continuous service to GOD.  Included are unselfish giving, love, obedience, praise, prayer, prophecy (comfort, edification, exhortation), and submission to sacred truth.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood that may not be presented, here, at this time.  (For example, (4.)  Jihad-al-Akbar, The Greater Jihad.  A man’s greatest service to GOD is not combat, martyrdom, and warfare against other men like himself.  The more necessary struggle is that a man have so great a victory within himself that he operates continuously after principles to maintain family, community, life, peace, and genuine worship.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Every generation has been privileged to say that GOD has done a work during our lifetime.  We would be wise to rededicate ourselves to GOD through prayer, today.

That GOD is spoken of as “a man of war” is the topic, today, with more on reading the scriptures as literal.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Denny” (Level 1 with 9 points, a member since February 9, 2013) posted the following:

Is God really a man of war? Why does the Bible say he is?

THE BATTLE AXE:  What to Take Literally (03/11/2013)—Because an important purpose of the Bible is to establish inarguable, spiritual truth through focus upon human events, moral principles, and accounts of intimate relationship with GOD, the holy writings are held to exacting standards for accuracy, clarity, completeness, simplicity and transparency.  Trust that the Scriptures are truly provided by GOD is promoted by the absence of contradictions, distortions, exaggerations, lies and superfluous matter (we say “clutter”).  To the extent the Scriptures present the very same devices and techniques found in literary writing such as essays, novels and poetry, many insist the Bible contains no sacred material, and should be subject to the “scientific” scrutiny of such academic disciplines as Archeology, Cultural Anthropology, Literary Criticism, Logic, and Philology.  It remains, the “sacred material” is to exist both within the writings and within the reader as an imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD; and the two are to interact as living agents from GOD.  By the operation of GOD through rebirth and regeneration, believers receive divine substance from the person of Jesus Christ, and thereafter are directed from within themselves by the same precepts, principles, and propositions described in the pages of Scripture.  Thus, the Holy Spirit establishes correct knowledge, discernment, and understanding of the holy writings; and the holy writings function to amplify, convey, nourish, prompt, and refresh the Holy Spirit.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously:  the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.  The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation:  he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.  The LORD is a man of war:  the LORD is his name.  Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea:  his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.  The depths have covered them:  they sank into the bottom as a stone.  Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power:  thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.  (Exodus 15:  1-6, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Will GOD Bless My Team? (12/31/2012); Put Every Man His Sword By His Side (01/01/2013); The Common Danger (01/02/2013); Why did The Judges Fight? (10/19/2012); The Spirit is Willing (10/20/2012); Violence In The Bible (02/26/2012); Why Confess Before Priest (02/27/2012); Jealous, Not Crazy (08/10/2012); The Divine Tool of Death (08/11/2012); Binder 10:  Commitment To Perfection (10/07/2011); Dispatch 35:  My Defense (09/14/2011); Dispatch 34:  The Servant Must Not Strive (09/15/2011); Dispatch 32:  Now Will I Rise (09/11/2011)

Because men have celebrated victory in battle ascribing their success to personal guidance and interventions by GOD (and not to such mechanical and unfeeling elements as chance, destiny, fate and luck), there are various traditions that exalt our Creator as a “man of war,” and that promote the ideals of purity, holy warriors and holy war.  (See for example, Exodus 15:  3, 1st Samuel 17:  33-47 and 1st Timothy 6:  12, King James Version.)

Many mature Christian believers agree that the Almighty is spoken of as a GOD of War in order to communicate in a simple way the profound differences existing due to the divergence of divine will and self-will residing within created beings and living creatures.  GOD is a spirit, and absolutely may not be known, acknowledged and embraced without spiritual truth (see John 4:  23-24, Revelation 12:  7 and 19:  11, KJV).  While the armies of Israel were created by GOD to accomplish the occupation of the Promised Land, rightly understood, they were instruments of divine judgment (like the plagues of Egypt), and not tools for conquest.

The holy writings necessarily use many human language devices that are in line with patterns relied upon by mankind for their carnal, emotional, physical and social existence.  Together these elements are called “the World”, a man-made system for exchanging resources and continuing survival.  The World supplies a person with definitions, meanings, practices and standards that are used to determine the quality of life experiences as good/bad, illogical/logical, real/unreal, right/wrong, scientific/unscientific and even true or false.  Christian believers are “called out” from the World; and are trained to live in the World as new creatures fashioned by Christ.

Just as the World, the Flesh (i.e., appetite such as hunger, thirst, sexual craving; sense such as hearing, seeing, touching; and mind such as fantasy, imagination, recall) and the Devil (i.e., created beings that oppose the will of GOD, demons, unclean spirits), GOD puts forth order and standards to describe the substance and value of objects in human experience.  Together, the provisions of GOD comprise the revelation of divinity.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, war perpetuates war; and peace is only the outcome of truth-finding and judgment, for judgment is the resolution of conflict and the settlement of dispute through law.  For this reason, judgment is always to be received as blessing, rather than widespread death and punishment.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
