That faith is itself the evidence of faith is the focus today along with more on confessing only to GOD and refusing confession to clergy, and others within the church. A “Yahoo! Christians: Faith is the evidence of things not seen, What is the evidence of our faith?

THE BATTLE AXE: Confessing Only to GOD? (04/08/2013)—(5.) Even many long-time believers within our congregations do not grasp the benefit from a discipline of confession to a figure who serves both as agent and spokesperson for GOD, and for the worship community. Behaving as if personally attacked, or as if their private access to GOD can be denied by people like themselves, such persons often are spiritually immature, reprobate and unregenerate. They identify confession, intercessory prayer, and seeking to speak personal truth in love as submission to ungodly authority; and fail to realize that their own spirit is one of bitterness, defiance and rebellion that, in fact, challenges all divine order. More correctly, clergy should be seen as embodiments and incarnations of divine law. See Psalms 19: 7-13 and James 5: 16, KJV. (6.) While Jesus taught that privacy and secrecy should be practiced in almsgiving, devotions and prayer, the Lord’s instruction was directed against religious externalism—observing ceremonies, practices and rituals to give an appearance of righteousness before GOD, while lacking faith and other sacred content. The Lord condemned such hypocrisy as “going through the motions,” flamboyant public displays, pretension, self-promotion, and showing-off. The course of the Gospel is to be one of making truth visible that was heretofore hidden (we say, revelation). All are to see visible fruits from our prayer life and service along with material and social outcomes. See Matthew 6: 1-18 and Luke 6: 43-45, KJV. (7.) Many believers in Christ do not correctly acknowledge the covenant nature of new life. As a sacrament of the church, confession is to further mold the collective consciousness and unity that must be established. To the extent one refuses all duty and obligation to the clergy and others of the congregation, and the salvation they seek is personal and specific to themselves, those wrongly insisting on “intimate salvation” have not yet put away pride, and surrendered themselves to Christ as their Savior. Such persons have no part in the body of Christ, and remain unsaved. See Numbers 15: 29-36, 1st Samuel 10: 17-27 and Acts 5: 1-11, KJV. (8.) In the same way, the home cannot replace the church, nor the church replace the home, private worship is not intended to totally replace gathering with others in public. Each setting is to supply unique experiences that are fitted together as completeness, spiritual maturity, and soundness. Relationship to clergy is not a substitute or replacement for relationship with GOD; and is understood as another divine tool along with baptism, penance, repentance and death. See Mark 9: 33-42, John 17: 14-23 and Hebrews 10: 24-26, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Romans 5: 1-9, King James Version)

Tzadiq, many mature Christians understand faith as an aspect of divine person. In this view, GOD is a spirit, and we must worship him in spirit and in truth. As a feature that makes up divine being, faith exists only in GOD, not created beings and living creatures; and faith is inseparable from such sacred substance as forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin. Through the appearance of GOD in the person of Jesus Christ (called “Incarnation”), mankind receives an added measure of the spirit from GOD that was once provided to mankind in Creation. The holy spirit believers are to now receive is the same essence that operated in Creation; and serves to alter, change and transform human makeup.

Recognizing the presence and operation of divine substance is not accomplished merely by intelligence, logic, mental functions, and reason. Through baptism (we say death and re-birth), the spirit a believer was born with, and that becomes altered through sexual joining and repeated sins, is completely replaced by a fresh endowment from GOD that includes faith (we say, “divine DNA”). Existing with this spirit, believers are then sons and daughters of GOD, who must develop and mature after the dictates of their own sacred content.

Faith itself is the evidence of faith, just as righteousness is the standard for realizing righteousness, and truth is the verification of truth. For mature Christian believers, faith is acknowledged as present by its peculiar visible consequences and effects. Included are comfort, edification, and exhortation (called prophecy). Thus, faith from GOD appears in human action, attitude and utterance.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, following judgment, mankind is to exist with GOD immortal and incorruptible. At this time, humans are not able to perfectly perceive and realize the fullness of divinity; and only those themselves having a mature awareness established through the many different gifts provided by the Holy Spirit correctly discern at all the truths of divine being and holy person.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to the measure of faith you now contain.

Both a judge and a king of Israel are in focus as “Bible heroes” (Samson and Saul, respectively), and there is more on how we, today, may see Jesus serving the poor. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer, “the Olmec” (Level 2 with 603 points, a member since October 8, 2012), posted the following:

Why was samson such an idiot and yet he is considered a hero and not Saul?

Saul who was the king of Israel and samson were both similar idiots, but samson is considered a hero in the bible.

THE BATTLE AXE: On Seeing Jesus Serve the Poor (12/03/2012)—Those whose hearts and minds are hardened against GOD are “blind” as were the adversaries of Moses; and no way exists for them to see what GOD presents of himself “in plain sight.” Not only did Pharaoh and the men of Egypt refuse to acknowledge that the Holy One was present and active among them, they also refused to believe that GOD was working through Moses as his agent and spokesperson. When all but two from the army of Israel (Joshua and Caleb) denied the apparent truth that GOD was present and active among them, and repeatedly denied Moses as a visible agent of the Most High, GOD proclaimed they would die in the wilderness, and that he would fulfill his word to them by blessing their children and grandchildren, who were their lawful agents and substitutes. The problem is not that GOD has abandoned mankind, or is no longer present upon the earth; it is that, to see the image of GOD, that in fact is visible through one another, men must use vision that is an operation of faith, and not any organ of the flesh. Sacred content, godly function, and divine process must be their focus; and divinity is acknowledged by its resonance with the power of ones own inner spirit. Those who “see” do not look for carnal, material and social phenomena. They realize connection, wholeness, and unity among beings, events, purposes and sacred substance. The holiness for many spirit-filled acts that comfort the poor remain unrecognized because there is no display of ceremonies, costumes, and rituals; and they do not center upon giving food, clothing, money or shelter. For many who viewed the viral photo of the NYC police officer giving shoes and sox to a homeless man, an observance of Christ’s Passion and Crucifixion was shown, the act of humility (called foot-washing). By sharing their endowment of such gifts as humility, joy, longsuffering, wisdom, and wrath against sin, believers and the poor are able to see, follow Christ, and enter the Promised Land that is the Kingdom of GOD.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. (1st Samuel 15: 22-24, KJV)

For many mature Christian believers, Samson son of Manoah and Saul son of Kish are both tragic heroes after the morbid fashion of Greek drama, as opposed to role models and “pillars of faith.” As a divinely promoted judge for the still developing covenant nation, Samson was to serve as a deliverer, one who would be a visible expression of divine wrath against their enemies, and who would recover the people of GOD from bondage and servitude. As a divinely anointed king, Saul was to serve as the highest judge and leader within the covenant nation, who would intercede to resolve disputes, and defend their common interests. Neither of these men were called to serve as priests, those consecrated to make the sacrifices of atonement that would secure the divine covenant before GOD.

While Samson was prepared for service by his parents through a strict upbringing and continuous devotion to GOD following a “miraculous” birth, Saul’s preparation to be king was primarily through examples from surrounding nations. Not surprisingly, much of Samson’s behavior appears as arrogance, disobedience, hubris (i.e., pride), and the rebellious, self-promotion of a youngster who wants to throw off authority, duty, and parental restraint. By contrast, Saul first behaved as one who lacked ambition, however, had no self-confidence or sense of duty. When called to the public ceremony that would affirm him as king, Saul hid himself with the baggage handlers.

Saul did not begin his administration as did Solomon by humbling himself to GOD. Almost immediately, Saul was given his first “test” as the new king, and had to rally the armies of Israel for the defense of a city, Jabethgilead (1st Samuel 11, KJV). So to speak, Saul’s kingdom was begun through warfare, and that set the pattern for all that would follow. When commanded to carryout divine judgment against the Amalekites, Saul’s behavior displayed arrogance, disobedience, hubris (i.e., pride), idolatry, rebellion, presumption and, finally, witchcraft.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, images in action movies and popular culture often describe a man’s struggle to achieve romantic, political and social goals as heroic. However, given such purposes depict only issues of material reality, self-will, and social process, viewers receive little spiritual instruction or nourishment for their indwelling Spirit from GOD.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, I share some ideas that came to me with disturbing power as I was reflecting upon current efforts to establish legislation on marriage equality, and the many hidden meanings and invisible sacred purposes of divine law. There is no Battle Axe presentation:

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water? Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb. So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish: Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web. He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure. (Job 8: 11-15, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Christians Who Ignore GOD’s Laws (10/25/2012); Justice Comes By Love? (10/01/2012); A Daily Revelation? (10/02/2012); Wrong To Love? (08/17/2012); The Young Less Religious (08/18/2012); Marriage and Civil Law (08/14/2012); Apostasy Forgiven? (08/15/2012); Faith Establishes Law (03/10/2012); Support For The Bible (03/11/2012)

The crux of the matter:

Many created beings and living creatures see all law and judgment as arbitrary overlays upon existence. They hold that law, law enforcement (policing) and judgment are not defining elements that make us what, and who we are. In their view, all would be as well off, if not better, without law. Knowledge provided through the law may be dismissed and disregard, and action commanded by the law may be ignored, refused and left undone. Since law may be broken, corrupted, unknown and violated, law cannot be binding, and is, therefore, superfluous and unnecessary.

The present referendums and other legislative initiatives to establish “marriage equality,” should be understood as dangerous, because they do not completely and correctly expose the underlying issues regarding the place of GOD in human culture, law, and daily living. To legislate that GOD has no place in determining the identity, process and substance of mankind, is to dismiss all divine law.

Were they asked to vote that (1) Mankind is never again to acknowledge Almighty GOD as the source of law for life, (2) Mankind is capable of creating righteous laws that can guide human behavior and conduct, and correctly meet the broad range of requirements for human life (e.g., emotional, psychological and spiritual needs) without appealing to GOD for correction and supervision, and (3) issues of civil right, parity and participation are exclusively within the domain of humankind. citizens of enlightened states would realize immediately, the thrust against GOD is not coming from GOD, nor from those in submission to GOD as believers.

The wet cannot be separated from the water: There are many unspoken arguments that GOD is not to be the sole source of law. That divine law does not offer sufficient benefit. That the nature of divine law is destructive; such law, by existing at all, accuses and condemns. That there is to be no penalty for denial of divine law. That divine law is intrusion and meddling by GOD. That the allowances and privileges men grant to themselves and to one another cannot be canceled, nullified, or removed except by consensual human legislation. That we are correct to pursue the ideal of perfect self-government called “anarchy.” That human law need make no provision for divine promise.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, many of the articles above were advanced and practiced during the French Revolution, and go back to the rebellion in Heaven. The wonderful counsel of GOD pertains to life, death, error and truth. None may insist with integrity that Church and State address completely distinct, and separate matters, or that men and women trained to serve as impartial, secular “machines,” properly recognize and respond to the spirit content within life issues.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
