Scripture points are shared, today, on preparing to be received by Christ at his appearing by adhering to godly standards, self-discipline, and good works.  The writer at “Yahoo! God ; How will Christians handle the Lord’s coming when they wont even obey all of Jesus’ sayings ; Mal. 3 & Eze. 28:18?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.  God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,  Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.  But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.  Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.  And if by grace, then is it no more of works:  otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace:  otherwise work is no more work.  What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.  (Romans 11:  1-7, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Malachi (01/02/2015); Sinless Until Advent? (11/05/2014); Holy Wars? (11/06/2014); What To Do At His Coming (07/20/2014); Loving Someone Unseen? (05/03/2014); Lot and the Angels (05/04/2014); About the Second Coming? (01/18/2014); Unprofitable Servants? (01/19/2014); To Find A True Christian? (06/17/2013); Unseen Sin? (06/18/2013)

“Forrest Toney”, I am going to use your question as an occasion to share certain answers for Christian believers appearing in the form of points from the Scriptures.  Believers are to “handle” the things proclaimed, promised, and prophesied by applying faith and the imparted Spirit of GOD.  Perhaps you will agree that Christians are called into association as the Church of Jesus Christ, not to focus upon death, dying, or the “end of the World.”  We increasingly are to center our commitments, feelings, goals, thoughts, and actions upon eternal life, and the Advent (some say, Second Coming) of Jesus.  The broader application of divine judgment is not the review of attitudes, behavior and social conduct among men (we say, works).  Just like mercy transforms condemnation, divine grace now qualifies and transforms the meaning and value of works in divine judgment.  As an act of finite self-will and intellect, believing is a human work.  Consider the following:

(1.)  2nd Timothy 3:  1-5, King James Version (KJV):  1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:  from such turn away.

(2.)  Galatians 2: 19-21, KJV:  19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.  20 I am crucified with Christ:  nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:  and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  21 I do not frustrate the grace of God:  for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

(3.)  Romans 8:  8-10, KJV:  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

(4.)  Romans 6:  3-7, KJV:  3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:  that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

(5.)  1st John 4:  9-11, KJV:  9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

(6.)  Romans 6:  11-14, KJV:  11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.  13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:  but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.  14 For sin shall not have dominion over you:  for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

(7.)  James 2:  10-13, KJV:  10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.  11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.  12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.  13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

(8.)  James 2:  17-24, KJV:  17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.  18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works:  shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.  19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well:  the devils also believe, and tremble.  20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?  21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?  22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?  23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness:  and he was called the Friend of God.  24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

(9.)  Philippians 3:  8-10, KJV:  8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:  for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,  9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:  10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

There are many other Scriptures that should be carefully considered, correctly understood, and made a permanent part of ones own sacred knowledge.  (For example, (10.)  1st John 2:  24-28, KJV:   24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.  25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.  26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.  27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you:  but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.  28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith, sacred knowledge, and the continuing operations of GOD for your perfection.

Covenant with Israel, foretelling the future, Malachi, and sacred prophecy are considered, today.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Hamburai” (Level 1 with 85 points, a member since April 11, 2014) posted the following:

Why there is no prophet after Malachi?

Why there is no prophet Came after Malachi?
Do you think prophecy can happen again?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.  And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.  Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.  Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.  Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.  (Acts 3:  22-26, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Why Prophets Were Sent to Israel (11/23/2014); The Need for Prophecy Then and Now (11/24/2014); Divine Sleep (03/28/2014); The Storm-battered City? (03/29/2014); Why Not One Bible? (11/02/2013); Why Jesus Used Parables (11/03/2013); Jesus and the Pharisees (07/14/2013); How Could Angels Fall? (07/15/2013)

“Hamburai”, here are some points from the sacred knowledge shared among Christian believers:

(1.)  Prophecy is an aspect of divine revelation whereby divinity is made known and recognizable to created beings and living creatures.  Prophecy displays active, organic, and personal truth from the fullness of GODhead, and is granted as the expression of grace and privilege for those in intimate relationship with GOD.

(2.)  The substance of prophecy is not so much foretelling the future as indicating and proclaiming divine intent, eternal purpose, and ongoing sacred process.  Given that GOD is eternal, immutable and unchanging, the holy writings clearly show that essentially the same divine law, sacred promise and prophecy are repeated over time from covenant to covenant, and from generation to generation.

(3.)  GOD has shown disappointment, displeasure, and wrath against Israel as a treasured covenant partner without also denying or terminating the covenant.  Terms of the covenant provide that repentance and returning to GOD may be made by a remnant (i.e., a portion that represents all).  While those of the priesthood and the tribe of Levi were to serve as the holy portion, through the new covenant established by Christ the chosen are seen to be those having the imparted, indwelling spirit from GOD, and serving in a new ministry of righteousness.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  For a period of some 400 years, no prophet (we say, spokesperson from GOD) having the same spirit and power that operated through such men as Moses, Samuel, Elijah, and Jeremiah appeared within Israel.  Those making false claims did arise, however, until John the Baptist none appeared advancing the same sacred truths earlier proclaimed.  Despite sharp rebuke from GOD through captivity and exile, the system for atonement, offerings and sacrifices that could only be acceptably performed through the priests became so corrupt that GOD promised to send one born through a virgin.  John the Baptist appeared as the first prophet after Malachi, and the work of Jesus as Messiah centered upon the fulfillment of prophecy.  Prophecy continues today through the followers of Jesus who contain his Spirit (called the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
