THE SECOND COMING

 

Today, three Bible passages are shared that address questions on receiving grace and having merit with GOD.  The divine commandment is that we honor both father and mother.  Few mature Christians are likely to express judgment against their own parents, or call for favor from GOD to be granted one of their parents that would generate division, divorce, and their separation.  Criticizing, condemning, and coming between ones own parents are accounted as arrogant, hateful, malicious, presumptuous, unloving, and unrighteous.  Were a son or daughter to make a request of Jesus on behalf of their parents like that made for James and John, the sons of Zebedee, the Risen Lord might well respond in a similar way.  [It is written:  Matthew 20:  20-24, King James Version (KJV):  20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.  21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.  22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.  23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with:  but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.  24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.]  Correctly understood, proper merit and worthiness for the things of divinity exist only among the persons within the GODhead where there is oneness without sameness that appears through mutual acceptance, complementary accomplishments, combined authority, one-of-a-kind commitment and faithfulness, specific eternal purposes, miracles and one-time events, and unified displays of divine worth.  Examples are seen in such sacred operations as atonement, propitiation, revelation, forgiveness, judgment, Incarnation, resurrection, sacrifice, sanctification, and suffering.  One of the many fighters at “Yahoo! “Anonymous”, there is a whole group of questions similar to this one of yours that all must be answered pretty much the same way.  Included are:  Who deserves to be created?  Who deserves to be healed?  Who deserves to be forgiven?  Who deserves to be loved by GOD?  Who deserves to be saved from hellfire?  Who deserves a great life and happiness from GOD (i.e., a fine-looking spouse, wealth, a big house, nice car, fun job, etc.)?  In a sense, the choice is easy because it is made by the law and not on the basis of emotion, feelings, and kinship.  Even so, mature Christian believers would all be likely to answer these questions with statements from the holy writings that speak to the awesomeness, grace, ownership, divine prerogative, eternal purposes, righteousness in judgment, sovereign will, and love of GOD.  There is no single, short, sweet answer, yet, there are lessons and points of truth that will nourish.  Consider again the following three passages:

(1.)  Luke 7:  36-50, King James Version (KJV):  36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.  37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,  38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.  39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him:  for she is a sinner.  40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.  41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors:  the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.  42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?  43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.  44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet:  but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.  45 Thou gavest me no kiss:  but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.  46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint:  but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.  47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much:  but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.  48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.  49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?  50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

(2.)  1st John 4:  7-11, KJV:  7 Beloved, let us love one another:  for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

(3.)  Isaiah 57:  15-21, KJV:  15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.  16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth:  for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.  17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him:  I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.  18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him:  I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.  19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.  20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.  21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

Today, reply is made to errors contrasting divine and human judgment.  As the offspring of Adam, the son of GOD, the living all are under condemnation by divine law, and must endure a condition of mortality (being subject to death) until released by GOD through the adoption, judgment, redemption, resurrection, or salvation provided through the merit belonging to Jesus Christ.  Since death came by the disobedience of one man, justification, salvation, and glorification are provided through one, Jesus Christ, the Son of man and Son of GOD.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information appears) posted the following:

 

Christians, if people go to Hell for sinning, how come not everybody’s going to Hell?

I believe it should be all about merit–not about what you want. Our judicial system does not reward bad behavior in letting the rapist and murderer go free after attending parole hearings if the crime is too inhumane and severe. You can’t do terrible things and then enjoy a life of peace and tranquility especially when you made other people’s lives a living hell, including the families of those victims. That’s not right.

How would you feel if a man who killed your child not only gets out on bail, but then gets put inside a mansion and the rest of his life to enjoy while a child is dead and he’s still alive, never to get what he deserves?

I believe it should be about merit because it falls in line with fairness. And if you take away fairness, you take away justice. The laws on this Earth have to abide by MERIT, not by the offender s DESIRE. And, if we really wanted God, we wouldn’t have sinned against Him. How can you want Him and you sinning? Jesus even said that if you loved Him, you’d keep His commandments. That’s like me cheating, stealing from and beating my spouse and then saying I love them. What is that?

“Anonymous”, you seem to be confusing the judgment by mankind through human devices and law with the eternal processes of GOD to reveal divinity.  Judgment by the Creator will display otherwise unseen aspects of GOD such as grace, mercy, ownership, person within the GODhead, active presence, divine prerogative, righteousness, sovereign will, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  In the judgment of GOD, the elements of attitudes, behavior, and speech come into view primarily as indicators of ones spirit content imparted from the makeup of Deity.  Included should be inseparable aspects of our Maker:  balance, faith, holiness, hope, joy, longsuffering, lovingkindness, peace, and eternal purpose.

In the sacred process to transform mankind to be an immortal, incorruptible companion of divinity, forgiveness establishes a foundation, and calls forth gratitude, meekness, respect, and reverence.  It is correct to speak of divine forgiveness as “blessing” and a “free gift”, however, acknowledgment and multiple responses are required from the sinner on whom forgiveness is bestowed.  There must be permanent change, rebirth, repentance, willingness to acquire sacred knowledge and maintain sacred practices (we say, sacraments) as well as a commitment to regularly communicate with GOD through praise, prayer, and acts of unselfish service.  What you speak of as “merit” may be the acknowledgement by others that divinity has been at work within the one who once was a sinner.  As a “born again” believer, they are a new creation in Jesus Christ.  Acts of faith, trust, and “good works” now describe their lifestyle and daily routine as that of a believer.

Of course there is far more to be said, carefully considered, and fully embraced.  (For example, the objectives of divine judgment are not those found where only “legalism” appears—to determine condemnation, guilt, and punishment.  Sacred operations will be completed to affirm oneness without sameness among believers and for the spirit substance of each created being and living creature.  The legitimacy will be determined for those claiming place as offspring of GOD and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ; and there will be a careful and complete examination of their spirit substance using the accounts recorded within the Book of Life.  Also, there will be the assessment of accomplishments and deeds for reward.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, focus is on emotional, psychological and spiritual survival through Christian worship among all those of the African Diaspora (we say, Blacks).  Where bitterness, fear, resentment and suicide will acknowledge and install an enemy as the supreme power over your life, reverence to the Creator, and oneness without sameness through Jesus Christ accomplish freedom, invincibility, and eternal life.  Despite abuse, oppression and suffering, many continue to successfully struggle for life because they also receive healing, power, and relief as the offspring and heirs of the Creator.  Through various divine gifts and provisions, awareness and self-will within the living are supplied with sacred direction, futurity, perseverance, possibility, and the vision required for continuous existence, presence, purpose, and sacred relationship.  Those choosing to be enemies on the basis of ethnicity and race not only call forth damnation and hellfire, they also deprive themselves of an excellent friend (it is written:  Proverbs 8:  36, King James Version (KJV):  36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul:  all they that hate me love death.).  The fighter at “Yahoo! “Breakthrough”, the inner spirit must be kept alive for there to be “survival”.  Many mature Christians will agree that “to worship” is to acknowledge and respond to divine revelation provided through such mechanisms as discovery, divine law, praise, prophecy, sacrifice, sacred promise, self-government, and suffering.  All who are treated as despised, marginal, and misfits realize they are part of the “mainstream” when turning to GOD.  Even so, oppressive economic, political, and social systems continue to exist around the world that foster bias, discrimination, hate, and prejudice.  Public markets in Europe selling men, women and children from the continent of Africa were begun and firmly in place 50 years before Columbus in 1492 sought a new route (not a New World) to the wealth of spices and slaves from the East.  Because of the mindset that says, It is just good business, it was made acceptable and “normal” to speak of Blacks as chattel, goods, and a disposable commodity.

The mechanisms for genuine survival of all Black peoples and many others enduring life as members of a minority group (e.g., native Americans, Orientals) have had to address a broad range of meanings, needs, life purposes, and values.  The comprehensive frameworks for Christian belief have provided much of the necessary structure and flexibility to identify and isolate many of the most import features for a true commitment to life rather than death.  Included are anticipation (we say, holding to the energy and excitement of expectation; hope); becoming reconciled to higher things yet giving the appearance of accepting or agreeing with base things that are totally disgusting and reprehensible; defiance; deliverance; disguise; escape; misdirection; and the violence of righteous judgment.  Make-believe, fantasy and pretending are useless as mechanisms to bring about change.  Devices promoting deceit and lies (e.g., betrayal, boasting, gossip, slander) only ensure the destruction of the intimate relationships critical to survival (e.g., friendships, family, marriage, parenting).

In the worship of Black Christians, sinners are to see the otherwise invisible victory of mankind over the many obstacles to existence and peace such as arrogance, death, depression, ignorance, malice, poverty, and sin.  Believers are to receive inseparable aspects from the spirit makeup of divinity that are immutable, incorruptible, and unchanging.  There should be faith, forbearance, gratitude, holiness, joy, longsuffering, lovingkindness, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  In their homes, lifestyles, places for study, prayer, and reflection, rules and standards will be in effect that counterbalance anger, condemnation, self-destruction, despair, and self-pity.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Mark 8:  34-38, King James Version (KJV):  34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.  36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?  38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

(2.)  Ephesians 4:  25-27, KJV:  25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour:  for we are members one of another.  26 Be ye angry, and sin not:  let not the sun go down upon your wrath:  27 Neither give place to the devil.  28 Let him that stole steal no more:  but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.  29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.  30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.  31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

(3.)  Psalms 66:  1-4, KJV:  1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:  2 Sing forth the honour of his name:  make his praise glorious.  3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.  4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

Today, focus is on accord, conformity, and oneness without sameness.  Ministry of oneself and the gifts from GOD to others must come into view.  Divine disfavor that results from human errors such as denial of holy matrimony, divorce, enmity, hate, and unrestrained lust can be avoided.  Sinners are challenged to enter into an agreement (we also say, commitment, covenant, testament of blood) with divinity that establishes them in a relationship of repentance and turning away from sin.  In addition to refusing to further transgress divine law (i.e., commit sin), those who become born-again are to strive to be like Jesus Christ, “the way, the truth, and the life.”  Not only are his deeds and works to be copied or repeated, the precepts, principles, values  and the sacred Spirit shown in his life and ministry also are to appear within our own lives.  As much as possible, believers should conform to divine standards as seen within the church, and show themselves to be a new creation through Jesus Christ by their lifestyle and regular living routines.  With this in view, conforming to Christ and behaving with the integrity of new men and women before GOD should even be seen in the healthy romantic relationships and innocent sexual behavior of a developing believer.  What begins as an necessary exploration of ones own body and feelings must mature to become affirmation, giving, restraint, and full sharing.  There is never a place for bitterness, exaggerated pride, nastiness, resentment, selfishness, and violence.  One of the fighters at “Yahoo! “Anonymous”, among mature Christian believers, sinners are to become as much like Christ as possible (before the end of the world as we now know it.)  The process of GOD for cleansing, healing, and recovering the Creation from sin is understood as having multiple levels of divine action and works.  GOD must make divinity knowable, known, and “visible” to created beings and living creatures (we say, there must be revelation); the separation of the living and the divine must be reduced; divinity must appear using familiar forms and material (i.e., there must be Incarnation); there must be fixed standards that express the heart and mind of divinity (we say, there must be “sacred knowledge” as well as divine law); and there must be willing responses by the living to the things from GOD.  While GOD is to be respected as a sovereign who is immutable and unchanging, and who can not be influenced or manipulated, without describing emotions and sentiment, the holy writings indicate that there can be sorrow and weeping in heaven that are temporal (i.e., that occur over a measurable period).  Just as there may be rejoicing for those who return to GOD through Jesus Christ, there can be sorrowing in response to seeing damage and loss in the lives of those in communion with heaven through the divine ministries.  To seek to know GOD, then, includes sharing a full range of life experience with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit that includes death, error, rejection, rejoicing, suffering, and eternal life.  Through rebirth (we say, being “born again, and growing up again”), the living receive inseparable aspects of spirit content from the makeup of GOD, and it is possible for them to endure as children and heirs of GOD.  Included are balance, faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Conforming to divine standards instead of carnal, material, secular, and social standards requires permanent changes within ones awareness and self-will.  Consider the following:

(1.)  Romans 12:  1-9, King James Version (KJV):  1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And be not conformed to this world:  but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.  4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:  5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.  6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;  7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering:  or he that teacheth, on teaching;  8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation:  he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.  9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

(2.)  Romans 8:  28-30, KJV:  28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.  30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called:  and whom he called, them he also justified:  and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

“Trilobiteme”, many of the differences seen among Christian believers appear on the basis of what it is they are waiting for (e.g., comfort in bereavement, healing, instruction, judgment, the coming of the Lord, the descent of New Jerusalem).  The Christian believer must rely upon GOD for the provision of spiritual blessings and gifts; and there are multiple divine operations that require created beings and living creatures respond to words of proclamation, promise or prophecy as though the frameworks of time and space do not exist.  “Waiting on the Lord” can mean taking action to please divinity, carry out or perform divine purposes, demonstrate obedience to divine law, and respond to divinity through self-sacrifice and unselfishness.  “Waiting on the Lord” also may mean enduring delays and interruptions, exercising patience and longsuffering until the completion of a sacred process, and preparing for the conclusion of ongoing though invisible operations.  Through baptism and rebirth, sinners are to experience the death, burial, and resurrection of the inborn spirit received from Adam, and become a new creation through the spirit that resides in Jesus Christ.  Inseparable spirit content from the makeup of GOD will be imparted.  Included are faith, forbearance, holiness, joy, lovingkindness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  While living on the earth, those “born again” must “grow up again,” live in expectation (we say, hope), display the divine nature manifest the will of the Father, and become mature and ripe for harvest (i.e., ready to meet Christ in the air when he comes to remove all those who belong to him).  Until the Advent (we also say, Rapture, Second Coming) believers must face “growing pains” and other life challenges.  What was begun before the foundation of the earth, their perfection and transformation to exist as immortal, incorruptible companions of divinity will be completed in an instant at the appearing.  Consider again the following:

“Methane Mama”, your critique of GOD’s plan for salvation is off the mark.  Those who are his by following after Christ understand that the existence of mankind is interwoven with that of the universe.  Mature Christian believers generally accept that, unknown and unseen by the living on earth, many agreements and decisions were made among the persons of the GODhead in order to determine a process of salvation for mankind when the Creation was tainted by their sin.  It is correctly the place of the living to acknowledge and embrace the provision of GOD.  Where men take sin to be a natural and normal condition, they fail to reject the existence of sin as contrary to their own nature and substance.  Thus, as with human awareness and self-will (we say, will power), the finite standards and tools for created beings and living creatures that are available to process secular knowledge (e.g., intellect, logic, carnal reason, science) lack the necessary power, range, and scope to eliminate sin.  More than this, without sacred knowledge and discernment (ability to recognize and respond to spirit content from the makeup of divinity that resides within events, oneself, other persons, prophecy, the holy writings, etc.), the living are “blind” to things having enormous sacred presence.  The divine examination we call “final judgment” will not center so much upon things carnal, material and social (e.g., attitudes, behavior, conduct) as upon the spirit content of both believers and sinners.  Included should be inseparable aspects of the life essence imparted through rebirth (we say, breath, spirit, word) that includes faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Consider again the following:

Today, points are shared on pornography, prostitutes, and the kingdom of GOD.  Every prostitute is not guilty of having sexual activity with a married person (we say, adultery).  Even so, the spirit content of every prostitute does become  defiled through fornication.  Sexual joining is always physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.  Through fornication and imbalance, even the relationships provided by GOD to display beauty, express commitment, and continue the sharing of devotion, respect, self-esteem, and tenderness may become permanently damaged, and then promote only corruption, disgrace, fear, selfishness, and shame.  The fighter at “Yahoo! “Michael Vicks Dog”, most likely, Jesus protected the prostitute (you say, hooker), because he recognized the woman did not have a strong, mature, committed man who accepted accountability within an adult relationship.  The Lord also probably saw there was an emergency, that her eternal life was being threatened, and that she needed the love and protection of GOD the Father.  Through operations of the anointing from GOD that rested upon him, Jesus was able to discern the spirit content within events, himself, other persons, the holy writings, etc.  Where we are supplied with that same endowment, we also are able to see what is otherwise invisible:  a confused child; a repentant sinner; a brother or sister desperately in need of our help; a fragile person who, reinforced by divinity, is capable of displaying an amazing love.  Every prostitute was once a virgin, and can still be made clean and revived by GOD.  Often, the men, women, and children featured in pornography, prostitution and sex-trafficking are victims of continuing verbal abuse, brutality, alcohol and drug poisoning, multiple rapes, and the defilement of fornication.  As servants to the Risen Lord, we are to intercede for them through prayer; and we are to acknowledge that he has made a place at his table for those who will come to him, even the male prostitutes, transgender she-males, twinks, and others being used as sex-objects, and despised in the world.  Because they become a new creation in Christ that contains inseparable spirit matter from the makeup of divinity, sex workers are no longer to be spoken of as hookers, sinners, and whores.  They are to be known as believers, Christians, the children of GOD, saints, and joint-heirs with Christ.  Consider again the following:
