Spiderwick Phoenix

From the Spiderwick Chronicles, a series of 5 children’s books for ages 9-12 by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, published 2003-2004.  I first mistakenly took this plate that describes the Phoenix as being from Audubon.

Today, personal testimony is shared on the value to Christian believers of idolatry, mythology, and alternative belief systems (e.g., Buddhism, Hindu, Islam).  The mature Christian asserts that what he speaks and thinks are products from the operation of GOD within man, yet, accepts personal accountability for his use of the gifts and endowments from GOD.  All are challenged to apply and be fruitful through autonomy, balance, boldness, focus, restraint, and self-government.  Readers who have followed the development of my written works from the 1970’s have seen that, for me, mysteries of the phoenix come into view that include the Incarnation of divinity, rebirth through fire and judgment, immortality, and the apprehension of sacred wisdom.  The truest forms of divine wisdom instruct against such elements as anger, fear, hate, love of death, exaggerated pride, prejudice, and presumption.  A fighter in the “Yahoo! How should Christians deal with mythology-related things?

What I mean is anything related to the myths of any culture or religion, from gryphons (Greek) to medieval European legends and the Ramayana (Indian). They are “myths” because they are usually about subjects that are not true, but were so treasured by their cultures for making their histories somewhat more interesting.

However, mythology also contains certain elements that are unacceptable to Christian laws, such as other gods and spirits, idolatry, and mysticism. How should Christians deal with such things, including Christians who enjoy mythology-related matters?

Should they use them with caution, or completely avoid them for compromising their beliefs?
Update: I prefer that the Christians should answer this question. Many atheists already consider Christianity itself to be “mythology”, so they do not need to answer.
Update 2: In short, are mythology-related things acceptable to Christians (as long as they do not trap themselves into believing them), or not?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;  (2nd Corinthians 10:  3-5, King James Version, KJV)

“Yaw Jian fong”, here is something I will share that has not come from the Adversary.  Christians are to be “in the world,” yet, not “of the world.”  As developing believers who are not ripe (mature) for harvest by Jesus at his Second Coming (we also say, Advent, his appearing, the Rapture), Christians focus on the acquisition of sacred knowledge and spirit content conveyed through doctrine and the holy writings, and imparted through discovery, fellowship with other believers, gradual growth, learning, and ongoing sacred practice (e.g., praise, prayer, sacrifice, unselfish service, and worship).  Given that the consciousness and self-will (we also say, willpower) of Christians is transformed by operations of divinity, Christians are a “new creation” that exists on a higher plane as well as that of the world.

Following my graduation from the University of Chicago (U of C), whose registered heraldic coat of arms displays a legendary figure, (the red phoenix) as a symbol of learning and wisdom, I was privileged to teach at Federal City College, here, in Washington, DC (that is now respected as the University of the District of Columbia).  This school also uses a form of the phoenix (the firebird).  During late 1970, I decided to build a book publishing house to preserve a personal testimony as a Christian believer that would further nourish and prepare others as the body of Christ world-wide.  Being an African American, who was not able to garner necessary support after designing a system for public education of Black children when I attended school at Harvard and U of C—and understanding that for Black lives to matter, we might have to accomplish our goals and secure respect by dint of arms.  To admonish and caution those at our much touted schools of divinity and theology, oriental institutes, and seminaries who would leave me “marooned”, I chose a coat of arms bearing a black phoenix.  When appealing to educated men, such as myself, symbols in and from the world operate as a bridge to dialogue and exchange.

In addition to dramatic and legendary accounts, complete and properly configured belief systems should address the nature of knowledge and knowing; the origins of existence and life; time, space, and other frameworks that connect discrete and disparate meanings, standards, and values as well as descriptions for the otherwise invisible, unknowable and unknown actors, agents, and causes who have brought about the possibilities and things that are actual (i.e., things carnal, material, secular, and social that have measurable dimensions).

Christian belief does use parables (object lessons), verbal descriptions, and illustrations from oral traditions.  Even so, Christianity is clearly far from being founded on a platform of fables (accounts that use animals acting and speaking to provide moral instruction), superstitions, and accounts of the occult.  Every Christian begins as a sinner who must undergo a transformation that is so comprehensive and profound, believers are instructed to say, You must be born again.  Existing as a full and mature Christian requires inseparable aspects of spirit content from the makeup of divinity.  Included are faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, respect, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

Of course, there is far more that could be said.  (For example, according to world history (that is secular), by relying on the finite and temporal tools of mankind (e.g., emotion, idolatry, intellect, logic, carnal reason, philosophy, and science) there will never be more available in racist nations than apartheid, “Bantu education,” and the teachings that Blacks despair and hold to self-destruction nor can Black lives in America, and all lives through out the globe, be lived with freedom to explore, grow, share, and realize human potential that includes a capacity to demonstrate and display divine substance.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Second-coming-of-Christ-2

Today, reply focuses on the fact that Jesus is alive right now, and will be seen soon by all upon the earth.  Because Jesus is alive, divine spirit substance is going forth from divinity that allows men, women and children on the earth to exist having a different sense of direction, purpose, and value.  One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum using the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information shared) posted the following:

What is the most important thing to know about Jesus?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.  And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.  Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you:  as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.  And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:  Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.  But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.  The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.  And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them:  then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side:  and be not faithless, but believing.  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed:  blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.  (John 20:  19-29,King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Christ Is The Firstborn (12/26/2017); Heaven Temporal, GOD Eternal (12/12/2017); “Occupy Till I Come” (08/30/2017); Divinity Appears Using Form (07/26/2017); Waiting On The Lord? (06/16/2017); Become Like Jesus Christ? (10/27/2016); Word, Son, and Christ? (08/24/2016); The Imminent Return of Christ? (07/19/2015)

Anonymous”, one of the simplest points of truth regarding Jesus—that also seems to be the most challenged, the most denied, and the most overlooked—is that he lives!  Like the tribes of Jacob and the mixed multitude (Gentiles) who left with Moses, who survived the slaying of the first born, who walked through the walls of water at the Red Sea, and who later behaved as disbelieving, faithless and skeptical, many today, who are not continuous in the fellowship, work and worship within the church community are quick to forget the accounts of Christ’s resurrection and return to heaven.  More than this, they usually are unaware of the rich promises and prophecies shared to prepare mankind for the Savior coming to harvest the earth.

Those who are “born again” also must “grow up again,” and as developing believers they are to display spirit content from the makeup of GOD (e.g., faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, wisdom, wrath against sin) and maintain vigilance.  Because many respond to the true teachings shared by the church with fear, resentment, and spiritual confusion, the eternal life of Jesus is often dismissed along with his participation in the fullness of divinity (we say, the GODhead; the Father, the Son, and The Holy Spirit).

Where Jesus Christ appeared earlier as prophet, servant, healer, and teacher, he is next to appear as Judge, High Priest, Savior, and King.  The Advent of Jesus (also called, his appearing, “the Day of the Lord,” the Rapture, and the Second Coming) is a sacred event that must occur for the completion of ongoing divine judgment, revelation, and new creation.   Those who are ripe (i.e., spiritually mature) and belong to Christ will be taken from the earth.  Those who have died will be restored to life in what is called the first resurrection, and will “meet him in the air” with the living who are his followers.  Those who are left behind must be taken up in a second resurrection that focuses on judgment of the wicked and the final elimination of sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, 1st Thessalonians 5:  1-6, King James Version (KJV):  1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.  2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.  3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.  4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.  5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day:  we are not of the night, nor of darkness.  6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

The Crucifixion by Tintoretto, 1565
The Crucifixion by Tintoretto, 1565

Today, reply is on discernment and recognizing events on the earth as actions performed by divinity.  Existence and the life essence (breath, spirit, Word) imparted to the living permit their consciousness and response to actions by unseen divinity.  Thus, created beings and living creatures “know” the active presence who is GOD by his distinctive deeds and ongoing sacred works.  A writer in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum using the ID “Alan” (Level 1 with 106 points, a member since November 09, 2017) posted the following:

If the chance of an event happening was one in a million, would that convince you it was an act of God?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation:  and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.  Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty:  for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.  Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.  Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.  But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.  For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.  (1st Chronicles 29:  10-15, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Coincidence or Answered Prayer? (11/15/2017); Divine Wrath Against Sin? (10/17/2017); Knowing the Invisible GOD (09/17/2017); Storms to Punish America? (09/08/2017); Growth Is Through Edification (06/20/2017); Putting GOD First? (06/02/2013); Need for A New Holy Spirit? (06/03/2013); Magick and Prayer? (10/29/2012); The Fear of GOD (10/30/2012)

“Alan”, many become spiritually confused because men on the earth as well as angels and devils are being used as instruments to accomplish divine intent.  For Christians, the basis for regarding an occurrence as the “act of GOD” is not how many lives and persons are involved, how often or regularly it appears, the mathematical and statistical probability for the event repeating, or how global and widespread the event may be.  Christian believers are commanded and encouraged to acknowledge that the death of Jesus on the cross is an example of “an act of GOD” as was the Creation of heaven and earth, the forgiveness of the sins and offenses against GOD they have committed as well as sinners becoming “born again” and being received as a new creation (we say, sons and daughters of GOD, and joint heirs with Christ).

Once sinners are reborn through water baptism (death, burial, and resurrection of their inborn spirit) they are to “grow up again” as offspring from divine DNA, so to speak.  Developing believers receive fresh endowments of inseparable sprit content from the makeup of divinity that includes faith, forbearance, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, meekness, oneness without sameness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  All are to meet the challenges of life and “growing pains” on the earth, and become ripe (mature) for harvest by the Lord at his return (some say, Advent, the Rapture, the Second Coming).

Developing believers are to be edified (built up) through discovery, gradual growth, fellowship with believers more mature than themselves (e.g., clergy, co-workers, their own parents), through sacred knowledge in place of secular knowledge, through observing sacred practices (sacraments) through study of the holy writings as well as by unselfish service through their lifestyle and daily routines (e.g., praise, prayer, worship).

Believers are to become skilled using discernment (i.e., use of ones own spirit content imparted from the makeup of GOD as a standard to recognize and respond to the spirit substance within events, other persons, prophetic demonstrations, purposes, etc.)  Acts of GOD are distinct, for they express the heart, mind and sovereign will of GOD, and do not exalt or express the will of mankind, or any other created being and living creature.  Acts of GOD, therefore, will all appear as in accord with divine law and sacred judgment; with eternal purpose; with the proclamations, promises, and prophesies from GOD; with the terms of covenant relationship; and with the revelation of GOD whereby divinity is made knowable, known, accessible and approachable.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  John 1:  11-14, King James Version (KJV):  11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

(2.)  Romans 8:  14-17, KJV:  14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

(3.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Colossians 1:  12-22, KJV:  12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:  13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:  15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:  all things were created by him, and for him:  17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  18 And he is the head of the body, the church:  who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;  20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.  21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled  22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: )  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Trinity

A Depiction of Jesus with Mary, Joseph,
The Father and the Holy Spirit

Today, the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ are considered.  Many experience some spiritual confusion seeking to understand what, on surface, are discrete states of being and conditions for life that are contradicting and mutually excluding.  Correctly understood, looking upon Christ is not looking upon a man in a process intended for GOD, rather it is looking upon GOD in a process intended for men.  The fixed patterns, regularities, and standards whereby we recognize an active presence having attributes of person and purpose that we label “divinity” are not the same as those that apply to mankind as a living creature.  It is no violation of law put forth by GOD to govern mankind that an aspect of divine fullness would appear on the earth using human form and substance to be visible, and to continue in exchange and ongoing relationship with mankind.  Even though the Christ would appear as the agent and image of the Father, while existing within the earth as a sphere of life, and for the sake of those with whom he would abide, the attitude, conduct, and expression of the Christ had to constantly be within the ranges for human communication, consciousness, and operations of self-will.  The writer in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum using the ID “AbdulRahman” (Level 6 with 17,824 points, a member since October 20, 2013) posted the following:

Questions for TRINITY believing Christians?

No JW’S please, I want to know what Trinity believers have to say about these things.

Jesus is quoted in the NT to say the Father is Greater than himself, calling out ‘my God’ on the cross, becoming like a servant by becoming man (Philliphians), and not knowing the hour of his return.

How do these fit with the trinity? I’m seeking truth and I’m really struggling to understand and see how thd trinity works,

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?  But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?  Howbeit we know this man whence he is:  but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.  Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am:  and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.  But I know him:  for I am from him, and he hath sent me.  (John 7:  25-29, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  In Order To Understand (12/01/2017); All Divinity in ONE? (11/17/2017); From Glory to Glory (11/14/2017); Jesus Demonstrated Perfected Humanity (10/29/2017); The Device of Incarnation (10/18/2017); Divinity Appears Using Form (07/26/2017); How Christ Is Known? (04/24/2017); Redemption Through Ordinary Flesh? (04/20/2017)

“AbdulRahman”, the benefits we receive and expect from Jesus Christ are not those men are capable of bestowing upon one another without anointing from divinity.  Just as my responding to you is an act of my faith and an expression of my own spirit content from GOD (Christians also say, life essence, breath, spirit, Word), the action and process of accepting Jesus Christ as an appearance of divine person and substance are only by operations of divine spirit content, rather than finite human intelligence, logic, carnal reason, and secular knowledge.  With this in view, genuine belief only emerges from the exchange and interaction among the inseparable aspects of divine fullness such as faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

Regarding the authority, eternal person, and divine purpose whereby divinity appears having human form (we say, Incarnation), believers are to receive fresh endowments of the same spirit content from the makeup of GOD that resided within Jesus Christ, and will exist within him always.  As the “body” (church) and joint-heirs with Christ), his followers are to share through him the same oneness without sameness that exists among the persons of the GODhead.  Developing believers are instructed to rely most on the testimony and witness that comes from heaven more than on what has been spoken and recorded about Jesus on the earth:  His baptism, his transfiguration, the visions of John.

While on the earth and in the flesh, Jesus had to speak, think, and operate in accordance with natural law as do all men.  Where acts of faith, exorcism, and sacred events (miracles) unfold, it is by the power of GOD and the Holy Spirit that may work through flesh.  Thus, Jesus appears as part of a full revelation of divinity that uses thousands of events within thousands of lives over the course of thousands of years.  The Son of the Highest is to be the fulfillment of sacred promises, and is to complete multiple sacred operations to transform mankind to exist without sin.  In prophetic demonstration, Jesus dies on the cross, and is destroyed as an embodiment of all sin; he is raised from the dead and returns to heaven having already endured judgment for sin; he is restored as the High Priest who must make atonement within the Temple of Heaven; and he returns to claim all those from the earth who belong to him.

Jesus has shown that it is possible for men to exist on the earth and experience permanent change of their makeup and spirit content while they are living.  There must be rebirth, discovery, gradual growth, learning, and sanctification.  Consider again the following:

(1.)  1st Corinthians 12:  3, King James Version (KJV):  3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed:  and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

(2.)  1st John 5:  5-12, KJV:  5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:  and these three are one.  8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood:  and these three agree in one.  9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater:  for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.  10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself:  he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.  11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

(3.)  Matthew 17:  1-6, KJV:  1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,  2 And was transfigured before them:  and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.  3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.  4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here:  if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.  5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them:  and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.  6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

(4.)  2nd Peter 1:  16-21, KJV:  16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.  19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:  but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  Romans 5:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, points are shared on whether to avoid spiritual confusion developing believers should rely more on divine law or the imparted Spirit.  The operations of Christian belief present a pattern of waiting for hope, promises, and prophecies to be fulfilled, and so require such divine provisions as correction, discernment, longsuffering, patience, resilience, trust, and truth.  Even for those who become “born again,” all the elements of gradual growth, regeneration and ripening can appear.  Included are “growing pains,” indecisiveness, lapses of attention where a believer’s every effort seems to “draw a blank,” missteps, risk-taking, trial-and-error, and uncertainty.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” who uses the ID “First” (Level 1 with 148 points, a member since October 01, 2017) posted the following:

Now I’m even more confused. Some Spirit-filled Christians who only obey God here say God instructs us to obey the Torah.?

Other Spirit-filled Christians who only obey God here say God instructs us to follow Christ and accept his grace only. Let’s start there as it seems to be the most fundamental. Which is it and how do you know the spirit is leading you to a correct understanding of God’s will?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;  In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.  And I set my face unto the Lord GOD, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:  And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;  We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:  Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.  O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.  O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.  To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;  Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.  (Daniel 9:  1-10, King James Version, KJV)

“First”, grace does not cancel or contend against law from GOD.  It is sin that opposes the continued existence of divine law, the law giver, and all divine order that emerges by law.  Just as the work of learning our ABCs is one of recalling a set pattern or sequence of letters, acquiring sacred knowledge and internalizing the law from GOD is accomplished by listening, practice, and study to expand our knowledge base pertaining to Deity, and is not so much one of “doing the impossible,” performing miracles, applying psychic powers, or calling forth occult spirits.  Reciting the ABCs is not a matter of reading another person’s thoughts, or predicting future events, yet, once we know the full pattern, when shown a single letter we can say, HIJK…, LMNOP…, or whatever will be next.  What many like about jigsaw puzzles is that, when a piece is correct, it will fit in perfectly, and the person solving the puzzle has immediate feedback telling them, You are right!  This is not the case for the enigmas and puzzles of life, where we are to know by the operations of commitment, conviction, discernment, discovery, and faith.

Those who seek an intimate and personal relationship with divinity, wherein GOD is no longer an abstraction or remote figure, must be anchored by fixed truth and standards that keeps a seeker from losing their way, and maintains their knowledge of the way back home, so to speak.  Part of beginning is making the decision that—whatever disappointments or surprises might occur—you will wait, you will not quit, and you will not “turn back.”  One must begin with a “made up” mind.  Also, there must be the understanding, that Father, Son and Holy Spirit will do much of the most difficult work.  Those who are “born again” receive aspects of inseparable spirit content from the makeup of GOD that include “boldness”, “certainty”, faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, person, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Divine law is as necessary to becoming mature Christians who will construct and determine their own lifestyle and daily routines as rebirth, and a sinner becoming a new creation through operations of the imparted Spirit, for sacred law expresses the heart, mind and sovereign will of GOD.

When people begin to fit a jigsaw puzzle together, they usually start with a mix of disconnected pieces, however, they also should have some picture of what the puzzle will look like once they finish.  Most who want to solve jigsaw puzzles rely on finite human tools such as emotion, intellect, intuition, and carnal reason.  In the same way, a solver must test and try the fitness for every piece he takes up, a developing Christian believer must test and try many different claims, events, messages, and statements.  That something is unfamiliar, or fails to fit, does not mean the solver is inept, unskilled, wrong, or that important missing pieces do not exist.  It only means a single, possible solution was not correct; and the solver is to continue examining patiently other possibilities.  Consider the following that uses language from the holy writings:

(1.)  Habakkuk 2:  2-4, King James Version (KJV):  2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.  3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie:  though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.  4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:  but the just shall live by his faith.

(2.)  John 4:  23-24, KJV:  23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:  for the Father seeketh such to worship him.  24 God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

(3.)  Hebrews 11:  6, KJV:  6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Of course, there is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  2nd Peter 1:  2-11, KJV:  2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:  that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;  7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.  8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.  10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:  for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:  11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

many antichrist already

Today, focus is on language in the Bible that speaks of the Antichrist and the antichrist spirit.  The individual described by several End Time prophesies who is called “Antichrist” is a political figure who will be a counterfeit of the Messiah.  As an ungodly pretender (i.e., one from royal lineage who makes an unlawful claim to royal inheritance), the Antichrist will seek to reign over the earth supported by the Beast, the False Prophet, and the Great Whore.  The “spirit of antichrist” is a condition in the makeup and substance of created beings and living creatures that results from the operations of sin that oppose the continued existence of sacred law, the Creator as Law Giver, and all divine order.  Not all who are sinners, nor all who are wicked will display the antichrist spirit in ways easily discerned, yet, they all will be influenced to receive the mark of the beast, and to obey the Antichrist.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Wendell” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member since November 07, 2017) posted the following:

Where is the phrase, many anti Christ mentioned in the bible?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:  and his name is called The Word of God.  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations:  and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:  and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.  And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;  That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.  And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.  And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth:  and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.  (Revelation 19:  11-21, King James Version, KJV)

“Wendell”, mature members of the body of Christ (the church) and saints within the kingdom of GOD are being instructed to avoid spiritual confusion and deception that arises by the appearance of “many spirits” operating among us as “antichrists” and the single figure in the prophecies of the Scriptures who is spoken of as “that Wicked” and “the Anti-Christ.”  The sacred process to recognize and respond to spirit content within oneself, events, other people, prophecies, etc., is called “discernment”.  Developing believers are to practice discernment wherein they use their own endowment of spirit imparted from the makeup of divinity as a standard to examine the authenticity and godliness for things offered and shared as being from Jesus Christ and the Father.  Included are faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, lovingkindness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

The Bible presents many admonitions and warnings to believers on approaching and engaging spirits that are residing in the earth.  Believers receive these teachings as immutable and unchanging (that is, true in the time they were recorded, and still true to this day).  To examine, discern, and correctly acknowledge spirit meanings, quality, and values is not the same as making a divine judgment against another person for sin and ungodliness.  Our finite tools of emotion, intellect, philosophy and science do not fit created beings and living creatures to make the assignments of final judgment, for there are many subtleties (barely visible differences; hidden shifts and changes) that also must be taken into account and weighed.  Discernment should be applied when replying to questions such as those posed here, when sharing godly counsel, and when offering witness and testimony to spread the Gospel.

Many confuse the figures spoken of in prophecy that include Satan, the false prophet, the beast, the Deceiver, and those who fall way (called apostates).  Among both born-again believers and sinners, this confusion has increased widespread defiance, hidden fear, suspicion, and refusal to  cooperate with all authority figures (e.g., clergy, parents, public officials).  Careful, disciplined, and prayerful study are required to truly apprehend this material intended for priests and kings that is some of the most challenging truth from the Scriptures.  Here, casual reading rarely results in discovery, edification, and resources that are useful for ministry to others.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  1st John 2:  18-23, King James Version (KJV):  18 Little children, it is the last time:  and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.  19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us:  but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.  20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.  21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.  22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.  23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:  [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

(2.)  1st John 4:  1-6, KJV:  1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:  because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God:  Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:  3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:  and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.  4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:   because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  5 They are of the world:  therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.  6 We are of God:  he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

(3.)  2nd Thessalonians 2:  3-10, KJV:  3 Let no man deceive you by any means:  for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;  4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.  5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?  6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.  7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:  only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.  8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:  9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,  10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  2nd John 6-8:  KJV:  6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.  7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.  8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, reply is on believers, clergy, and church members confessing their continuing need for salvation.  The holy writings declare that the standards of GOD are so high and exalted, even the holy angels do not meet all of his requirements.   The followers of Jesus Christ are to acknowledge that everyone in the earth has sinned and come short of the glory of GOD.  In the same way divine law works to expose sin and remind us that we are under the grace of GOD, evangelists, pastors and other servants of the Lord also may comfort, edify and exhort the church by admitting their own vulnerability to sin, and testifying of their own encounter with Christ that has resulted in their being made a new creation.  Developing believers who practice discernment (i.e., use their own spirit content imparted from the makeup of GOD to recognize and respond to the same spirit substance as it resides within events, in other persons, the holy writings, etc.) will not be alarmed or confused by remarks intended as personal testimony to encourage faithfulness.  Shared as prophecy, these utterances should not be received to spark condemnation of wrongdoing, or as someone bragging about escaping punishment for sin.  Thus, the Apostle Paul confesses to being “the chief of sinners,” and admonishes the church in his epistles by saying, “we all have had our conversation in the world.”  There is no boasting or self-promotion by this; rather, believers are being reinforced to endure a long process of change and growth that will include disappoint with oneself and others, opposition, and trials.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Trump Tweets Me” (Level 5 with 5,461 points, a member since May 07, 2007) posted the following:

My pastor said “Everyone has fallen short of the Hand of God. Even I have sinned, *I’ve broken all 10 Commandments.” Should I be concerned?

I believe it was a mistake on his part, but this man said he’s broken every commandment. Should I be concerned with him as a pastor regardless?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.  (1st John 1:  5-10, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Our Glory From GOD (09/24/2017); Confession Is Not Testimony (08/24/2017); Sin Must Be Personal (04/29/2016); To Give Glory? (11/11/2015); The Glory of GOD? “Trump Tweets Me,” the recovery of mankind from sin requires they realize their dependence on divinity for the completion of works that may endure forever.  The living must humble themselves through confession, obedience, and repentance.  Most mature Christian believers acknowledge a need for salvation from the operations of sin that now appear within created beings and living creatures both in heaven and on the earth.  The operations of sin oppose the continued existence of divine law, the divine Law Giver, and the Creation that relies on natural and sacred law from GOD.  Sin promotes non-existence, and return to the conditions of chaos, disorder and flux that were in place before Creation.  The many operations of GOD to expose sin that may invisibly dominate awareness and self-will within the living include atonement, remission of sin using blood, forbearance, forgiveness, death, resurrection, using human form to make divinity accessible and visible (Incarnation), and the imparting of Spirit substance from the makeup of Deity.  Sin has not been destroyed or eliminated by these dispensations and methods; yet, mankind is enabled, reinforced and strengthened to recognize, resist, and triumph over sin.  Finite tools such as feelings, intellect, logic, and science are not powerful enough to remove the different burdens imposed by sin.  Thus, there must be a divine process of salvation that is not a “one-time” event.  GOD will use selected men and women in bringing their companions, peers, and others to salvation, however, all things carried out must be in accordance with divine law and the character and nature of GOD.  Salvation addresses the transformation of sinners throughout the course of their own lifetime using correction, punishment and challenges we speak of as temptations or trials as well as continual discovery, gradual growth, and acquiring sacred knowledge.  Affirming the word of GOD, pastors, prophets and other servants of the Lord will confess they too are condemned and have a need for Christ as their savior; and they do this to encourage developing believers to continue in hope.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Psalms 14:  2-3, King James Version (KJV):  2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.  3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy:  there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

(2.)  Isaiah 53:  6, KJV:  6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

(3.)  1st John 2:  1-3, KJV:  1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  2 And he is the propitiation for our sins:  and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.  3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  1st Peter 1:  3-9, KJV:  3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,  5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.  6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:  7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:  8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:  9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
