Love Your Neighbor

Today, reply is on the duty of believers through and with the law to help one another discern, recognize and resist error and sin.  Believers do not “snitch” or become betrayers and traitors by carefully helping each other identify error and sin.  Often, behavior that seems harmless and innocent to ourselves can be very damaging to others; and our mistakes will not be detected and correctly valued until seen through the light of divine law.  Also, when someone has been hurt or offended by another, and does not hold their attacker openly accountable, the result can be a dangerous and explosive build up of anxiety, bitterness, fear, suspicion, and uncertainty.  The provisions from GOD to expose the operations of sin have included sacred law; family; friendship; covenant nation; the Incarnation of divinity as Jesus Christ; the Savior’s death on the cross, resurrection and ascension; and the provision of fellowship for believers within the body of Christ (the church).  In an effort to avoid appearing to be unnecessarily judgmental and overly critical of others, many Christian believers “ignore” and behave as if they are blind to insulting attitudes and conduct from fellow believers that are disrespectful and offensive.  Obeying a rule from the World (live and let live), yet committing a serious error, many believers will make no complaint against what are clearly transgressions of sacred law.  Exaggerated pride influences the living to believe there is no need for law from GOD, and that they may be a “law unto themselves.”  In part the law has been given because the operations of sin can appear to be natural and normal as though they are the truest expression of ones own character and makeup.  Sinners do not discern the actual nature of sin, and that sin is contrary to their own continued existence.  By contrast, developing believers will increasingly agree that to maintain divine order and godliness we also require the vocal support and vigilance of others who are sharing in the new creation.  The fighter at “Yahoo! For those “PROCLAIMING” Christianity, What Does Leviticus 19:17 Mean?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another:  for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour:  therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.  (Romans 13:  8-10, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Deeds Of The Law? (09/10/2017); The Operations of Sin (07/25/2017); Obstacles To Developing Believers (07/24/2017); Christian Beliefs About Sin (07/20/2017); Fellowship With the Father (06/13/2017); A Fool of the Church? (01/26/2016); A Slip of the Tongue (09/17/2014); Which Things We Speak (09/18/2014)

“GRANNY NORINE”, gossip, grudge-bearing, and malicious silence are forbidden among those who are the new creation through Jesus Christ.  Formal statements recording the law from GOD appear throughout the holy writings.  In addition to exposing error, sin, and their consequences, the work of the law is to make the heart and mind of divinity knowable, known, and “present”.  Commandments, judgments (rulings to settle disputes), ordinances (required ceremonies and observances), prohibitions, and statutes are shared to amplify, “bring to life,” and detail the practices and principles provided to Adam and the Patriarchs as a divine inheritance.  Along with the words spoken by GOD at Mount Sinai, the written law would be developed and proclaimed as a living and organic aspect of communication, exchange, and  interaction within and between the tribes of Jacob as they were being transformed and permanently bound together as a single nation in covenant with GOD.

For those who are mature, the expression of love always includes the acceptance of accountability.  Within the shared covenant, believers have standing as “brothers”, “neighbors” and “partners” (not siblings).  The rule [Leviticus 19:  17, King James Version (KJV):  17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart:  thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.] forbids being critical of others (their attitudes, behavior and conduct), yet, not answering directly to them to make them aware of their offenses against yourself, or their  transgressions against GOD and the divine law.  It is more an act of love to deliver admonition, caution, chastisement and warning, than to maintain a silence that may fester and become a “root of bitterness,” or that falsely will appear as approval and agreement.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Deuteronomy 14:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 Ye are the children of the LORD your God:  ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.  2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.  3 Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

(2.)  Proverbs 30:  11-14, KJV:  11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.  12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.  13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.  14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

(3.)  Jeremiah 6:  13-15, KJV:  13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.  14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.  15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush:  therefore they shall fall among them that fall:  at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Matthew 18:  15-17, KJV:  15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone:  if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.  16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.  17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church:  but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, points are shared on diversity among believers and congregations, sacred knowledge, and that believers and followers of Jesus Christ still are called his “sheep”.  The essential things from GOD are immutable and unchanging, yet, the appearance of change and movement are fostered by diversity.  Similarly, the holy writings do not change in spirit, yet, are displayed in letter using multiple presentations, translations, and versions.  The “voice” of Christ as our master is to be “heard” and obeyed by believers using discernment to recognize and respond to the divine spirit content in doctrines, events, messages, practices, prophecies, etc.  Where the need is for sacred knowledge, only having an abundance of secular knowledge  results in spiritual confusion, ignorance, and unawareness.  When guided by the holy writings, acquiring, expressing, and nourishing faith within others goes forward on the basis of tested and enduring truth.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Christians, are the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ leaders right in their interpretation of the “Sheep and the Goats” referred to in Matthew 25:31-46?

According to the March 2015 Watchtower (Study Edition), the sheep are those who show loyalty to the JW leaders. This article titled “Loyally Supporting Christ’s Brothers” actually refers to this scripture to support their claim, “To the extent that you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”—MATT. 25:40.
There is not enough room here to go over every point, but here are a couple of quotes from the article and the link to it’s entirety.

“And what of the reason why people will be judged as either sheep or goats? The outcome hinges on how they have treated the remaining ones of Christ’s spirit-anointed brothers on earth.”

“He describes the sheep as “righteous” because they recognize that Christ has a group of anointed brothers still on earth, and the sheep loyally support the anointed during these critical last days.”

“The growing number of prospective sheep count it a privilege to support Christ’s brothers not only in the preaching work but also in other practical ways. For example, they give financial contributions and help to build Kingdom Halls, Assembly Halls, and branch facilities, and they loyally obey those appointed by “the faithful and discreet slave” to take the lead.”

Update: JW anonymous, how is quoting straight from the watchtower and sharing the link to the article”spreading lies” about your organization? I refrained from giving my own opinion here because you JWs are always crying “Persecution”. These are your leaders’ words, not mine. LOL!

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.  Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.  Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not:  the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.  But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.  I and my Father are one.  (John 10:  23-30, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Bible and Salvation (09/14/2016); Sheep of His Pasture (09/09/2016); Learning From A Spirit? (08/25/2016); From Cover to Cover? (01/04/2016); Many Forms of Christianity? (04/30/2015); The Sheep Who Lost Their Way? (11/18/2014); Restoring The Lost? (11/19/2014)

“Juli”, there are many assemblies and denominations promoting diverse expressions and practices on the basis of belief in Christ and his apostles.  While sinners are to come together as “sheep”, and the flock of GOD, members of the body of Christ (the church) are made in his image, are to serve as an appearance (manifestation) of his divine presence, and are not to behave as dumb (speechless) animals living in ignorance.  In the early church, believers depended on the truth spoken directly and plainly by Jesus Christ, by those specially prepared and taught by him, and by operations of the imparted, indwelling Spirit (we also say, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth).  In addition to the oral tradition carried out and provided through praise, prayer and preaching, believers were gradually given sacred documents and holy writings that require some careful memorization, reflection, and formal study.  Even so, among modern Christians, there are many believers and congregations that do not value the Scriptures.  In place of that sacred knowledge provided from GOD, such believers seek to acquire greater secular knowledge and express genuine faith by relying upon carnal reason, emotions, and forms intended to abbreviate, embody, or symbolically preserve and convey the things of ancient truth (e.g., ceremonies, church history, good works, liturgy, the music ministry, rites, rituals, practice of the sacraments).  Consider again the following:

(1.)  Ezekiel 34:  30-31, King James Version (KJV):  30 Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord GOD.  31 And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.

(2.)  John 10:  1-6, KJV:  1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.  2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.  3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice:  and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.  4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him:  for they know his voice.  5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him:  for they know not the voice of strangers.  6 This parable spake Jesus unto them:  but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

(3.)  2nd Corinthians 4:  1-7, KJV:  1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;  2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.  3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.  5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.  6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

(4.)  1st Corinthians 12:  27-30, KJV:  27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.  28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.  29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?  30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  1st Peter 5:  2-7, KJV:  2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;  3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.  4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.  5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility:  for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.  6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:  7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, points are shared on adoption by, and of Mary the Mother of Jesus for Christian believers, and the full pattern of divine relationships.  Completing rebirth through baptism, sinners become members of the household of faith.  The lives of Christian believers become interlaced with that of Jesus Christ through deposits of spirit substance from the makeup of Deity.  Sharing mind, heart and spirit content from the person of Jesus, we have oneness with the Son of GOD.  To fully acknowledge Mary, there must be the same operations of the Holy Spirit within a believer that established in the Son both consciousness of communion with Mary as well as the everlasting bond with GOD the Father.  Only the Spirit (we also say, Comforter, Spirit of Prophecy, Spirit of Truth) may initiate and nourish the genuine sense of relatedness to Mary as her protectors, her siblings, and her children.  Mary and John were eyewitnesses to the death of Jesus upon the cross while most of his apostles and disciples were in hiding to avoid arrest.  Eventually, they came together in an upper room as a household that numbered some 120 members, and would tarry together fasting and praying until the falling of the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost.  A household in Bible times included family members, trusted servants, workers and their families.  Thus, though Abram (later Abraham) was a nomad dwelling in tents, the Patriarch’s household was like a small town or city.  Its men, women and children may have numbered in the thousands, and included more than 300 men of an age who would serve as an army to recover Lot, his sizeable household, and their possessions.  Every male in the household of Abraham also voluntarily entered themselves and the families under their authority into covenant with GOD through circumcision.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “SUPERSTAR” (Level 6 with 12,842 points, a member since November 28, 2009) posted the following:

Do Christians believe that Jesus is our brother and his Father is our Father and Mary is our mother?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:  But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.  For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;  Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;  And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:  And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.  For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.  Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;  In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:  In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.  (Ephesians 2:  11-22, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Family at The Cross? (04/11/2016); Heirs of The Cross? (04/01/2016); Offspring of GOD? (12/23/2015); Why Was Lot Spared? (12/20/2015); Is Mary A Goddess? (08/25/2015); Judgment Begins at Believers? (08/16/2015); Mary (06/13/2014); The Estate of His Handmaiden (06/14/2014); A Kindness to Mary? (04/21/2013); When GOD Controls? (04/22/2013)

“SUPERSTAR”, mature Christian believers trust that, through operations of the Holy Spirit, blood, correction, and truth from the cross are flowing to here and now.  Through Jesus Christ dying upon the cross, the relationship of created beings and living creatures with their Creator has been revealed to be more than one of authority, hierarchy, and finite participation within a formal structure describing ceremonial interactions among the living.  The GODhead as the source for existence and life is being made knowable and known through continuous exchange and ongoing operations that are intimate, organic and personal.

Within every congregation of believers, the mysteries, sacred knowledge, and sacraments regularly practiced are spoken of using language and terms we associate with families and kinship.  Included are adoption, brotherhood, care, duty, holy matrimony, household, inheritance, love, obedience, respect, separation, trust, and truth.  The term “household” may include devoted servants (once called, living sacrifices and slaves) as well as those who depend upon and support the family by sharing and willing participation.

Jesus is the Son of Adam (we say, Son of Man), thus, all acknowledging Adam as father also embrace Jesus as brother.  Jesus is the Son of GOD, and those acknowledging rebirth through the Holy Spirit, answer an anointing and endowment of spirit substance from the makeup of divinity that installs believers as offspring (sons and daughters) of GOD, and  joint-heirs with Christ.  Inseparable aspects of Deity are imparted to those who are born again such as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

There is far more that should be said, understood, and spiritually taken in.  (For example, as an offspring of Adam, Mary, the mother of Jesus is a sister to all the other children of Man.  More than this, among those answering in faith, many accept the charge given to John from the cross as also commanded of themselves.  Thus, Mary is to be cared for and embraced as our mother, also; and we are to acknowledge that, by operations of divinity, her present exalted place before the GODhead within heaven is as one resurrected, Incarnate, favored, immortal, incorruptible, and a perpetual virgin.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Lately, I have been thinking of my brothers from Theta Xi (qX) fraternity at Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and how, correctly understood, the operations of diversity establish unity where oneness does not have to mean sameness.  Just as the very words that bring us together also can separate us; what generates our independence can both enrich and impoverish us.  I received a letter from one of the brothers who is taking leadership to organize a reunion on campus for 2017.  In hoping to share something that could give him an “update” or quick picture of my present commitment to Christ, and changes in me from my post in Washington, DC that have been made over the years, I wanted to attach a file from the music ministry of Chris Machen, Bow the Knee, from the 1994 album God Is Able.  When I thought it might be too dramatic, and would raise the unwanted question, Why would a black man express himself using a white man’s music? I looked for something else that (1) would express belief, yet, (2) not deny my cultural origins.  I then attached two MP3 music files to my reply.  One was from the music ministry of Steve Amerson, I Will Follow, in the 1991 album He Is My Strength.  The other was from Wintley Phipps, No Need To Fear, in the 2007 album, No Need To Fear.

Even though I was a member of Capitol Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church, I had never heard Pastor Phipps sing No Need To Fear until he shared it following a lunch-hour prayer meeting on the Senate side of the Capitol.  That was one of the experiences I cherish from that time in my life, along with daily being required to double check everything I would prepare as part of my work in the Library of Congress.  In developing personal standards for balance, self-discipline and spiritual maturity as well as for ethical and professional behavior, I have had to become alert to avoid conflicts of interest, misuse of employer (i.e., government) property and supplies, and conduct that would be seen as pressuring others regarding religious beliefs (i.e., proselytizing).  It was through the ministry and prayers of Pastor Phipps that I was reunited with my college sweetheart after many years of separation.  While I did think so highly of Pastor Phipps that, following worship one Sabbath, I introduced to him the woman I wanted to have as my life companion (we arrived late, and had to sit upstairs in the balcony, able to hear his preaching and singing, yet, unable to see him or be seen by him because he was directly beneath us); even so, I never sat down with either of them to share my personal testimony of having seen Jesus Christ.  (The first time I was able to share that witness after my own mother’s death was with the mother of another Trinity College classmate.)

The idea of using music and recordings to express your own feelings, or to say what you otherwise could not say with words, was shared with me very early as I was growing-up.  My older sisters (who were also my first dance instructors) revealed that girls often rely upon the words in songs to crystallize their feelings and emotions.  As a radio announcer and broadcast engineer, I was able to share and demonstrate this to the Theta Xi brothers as part of our campus life through WRTC-FM, the Trinity College (Hartford, CT) radio station.  While I did understand then that hymns, psalms and sacred music could be used to express spiritual ideas, I would have to learn that, like preaching and the spoken word, believers are to use music and dance to prophecy (i.e., comfort, edify, exhort), and impart spirit substance from the makeup of divinity.

When I wrote other of the brothers, I was not sure I should send more music.  I did not want to appear to be proselytizing, or sending out spam.  I thought, the focus should be upon reunion in a way that problems or wounds from the past not be obstacles to the future.  I chose to send only a brief note to one brother in Massachusetts; to a second from Florida, I chose to attach the qX award-winning contemporary blues classic Moonlight Over The Mississippi from the 2012 album ROYAL SOUTHERN BROTHERHOOD (2) by the Royal Southern Brotherhood (see it on YouTube performed for American troops stationed in Bonn, Germany @ https://youtu.be/NbNuvf8K_Yw).  When I wrote the brother who had been my roommate on campus, and with whom I had traveled to provide the play-by-play for broadcasts of Trinity football, I first chose to send an acappella selection that reminded me of the folk music popular during our campus years.  I shared from Glad, Be Ye Glad, in the 1998 album, Collector’s Series, Vol. 2.  Later, I shared “Moonlight” also.

“Moonlight” impressed me as having captured the Spirit of our good times together.  When I began at Trinity, the total of African and American blacks within a student population of some 1,200 was still fewer than 10.  My first exposure to New England college fraternity life, and the turning point that made me feel at home, would be a weekend when the Isley Brothers (You Make Me Want To Shout) performed at our campus on an outdoor stage.  Before graduation, Baby Huey from Motown, the Temptations, and B. B. King would also appear.  The men of Theta Xi were dedicated students, and all worked hard to maintain a high academic standard.  The bar for grades was set at B or better for every member of house.  We needed the rest and refreshing of party weekends and other activities away from books; and we were learning and growing at a time when self-discovery and self-expression also meant exploring jazz and rock’ n’ roll.  The Little Rascals introduced a song at our house, Gloria, that took us to a soaring height of unity when we all were dancing and began to sing with the band.  Yet, for me, only the Brotherhood has accomplished what the Rolling Stones hungered for, and worked to achieve with all their might:  being able to play the blues as Masters of the form, despite their being “white boys.”  At qX we were able to release one another, then, from the burdens of racial conflict, distrust, prejudice, and snobbery.  Together we were able to discover and practice the many shared aspects of “Soul” that GOD had placed among us.

I was not alone seeking to explore what we then called “The Black Experience.”  African History and Black Studies were offered on campus; and an action group was formed to maintain dialogue on issues of race in America.  Yet, the needed focus and work to complete a doctoral thesis while still in undergraduate school—creating curriculum based on learning theory, and designing a school system that would address a range of specific needs and problems within African American communities—distanced me from the men of Theta Xi in many ways.  Later, my experience of Christ while in graduate school at the University of Chicago demanded that I make a full commitment to divinity that continues to set me apart from others.  Even so, when the brothers of Theta Xi come together in reunion, I hope to be there.  I expect we will gather as survivors, those who dreamed the dream; and by what we have endured, those who grasp forgiveness, gratitude, and those without a willingness to quit.  Should it ever happen, it can only be a gathering of those having an ageless spirit in brotherhood, and who still can celebrate with genuine affection, empathy, joy, and mutual respect.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Brothers, Not Equals(04/06/2014)—(6.)  In the same way, the authority, influence, and power of older brothers and sisters is not the same as that of the youngest sibling, there are no liars, thieves, and unbelievers who are the same (we say, equals) as those having status as joint heirs with Christ, and who are the sons and daughters to GOD through the Holy Spirit imparted in water baptism.  Just as believers are set apart by covenant agreement, believers are further set apart (we say, sanctified) by the added divine gifts from the indwelling Spirit bestowed upon believers that serves as power in their work of spreading the Gospel by their lifestyle, preaching, and unselfish service.  GOD carefully examines the makeup, and the fruit of (we say, the effects, what is produced by) all his handiwork of Creation (we say, GOD will judge).  While righteous judgment must go forth upon all with attention to detail, balance, and impartiality, the outcome is always that those who satisfy the divine standard, and please GOD, are not treated as those who fail to do so.  There is a difference, however, one based on divine love, sacred law, fairness, and justice.  See again Genesis 18:  24-26, Leviticus 26:  13-35, Deuteronomy 28:  1-3, Matthew 10:  32-33, 2nd Corinthians 5:  10, and Revelation 3:  14-22, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:  but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.  Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me:  or else believe me for the very works’ sake.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.  If ye love me, keep my commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:  but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  (John 14:  8-17, KJV)

“Felix”, here are a few points a person should consider before “closing the book” on the first miracle of the Lord’s prophetic ministry:

(1.)  After his public anointing with the help of John the Baptist, Jesus was isolated and “tested” by Satan.  Just as the devil is not all-knowing and can not predict the future, Satan does not have the same gift of spiritual discernment that has been given to mankind through the Holy Spirit.  The Adversary could not recognize in Christ what the Son of the Highest had displayed when before the host of heaven.  Satan wanted to ask “are you the Son of GOD?” without displaying his ignorance and weakness.  Satan challenged Christ on the basis of the humanity of Jesus, and appealed to appetite, fear, greed, ignorance of the Scriptures, and pride.

(2.)  Miracles are “prophetic demonstrations” and “sacred events” that describe divine processes (e.g., forgiveness, rebirth, repentance), express eternal purpose (we say, conditions that will fulfill divine intent), and present utterance (breath, spirit, word) from GOD through action, physical objects, and persons (we say, the flesh).  Miracles may result through the operations of faith, however, faith does not always result from miracles.  Many times the outcomes have been increased confusion, doubt, fear, and skepticism.  Even so, miracles may establish an “appetite” for spiritual truth, and may serve as stimulants of curiosity that draw men to GOD as Moses was drawn by the “burning bush.”

(3.)  Jesus revealed that the process of GOD for mankind would entail a union of flesh and Spirit.  The need of all created beings and living creatures had become so great only a comprehensive transformation could be effective.  Thus, men must be “born again” having divine DNA (so to speak); and all the aspects of divine order for the entire universe are now being reconfigured.  Included are birth, death, growth, law, love, perfection (we say, maturity), relationship (e.g., as heirs, as servants, as sons, as spouses), and sanctification (we say, cleansing, being set apart to serve GOD).

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Jesus first displayed his divinity by helping those who were disabled, injured, and sick—that is, by addressing the flesh.  Yet, the healings and exorcisms (casting out demons) performed by Jesus are not accounted as miracles.  In the process of GOD for mankind, the rule is “first, that which is natural, then, that which is spiritual.”  The foundations of belief, reverence and worship were to shift away from ceremony, customs, institution, law, ritual, and tradition.  Relationship with GOD is to be grounded in ones own endowment of the Spirit of Prophecy (we say, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth).  Through Jesus Christ, mankind receives spirit matter from the makeup of GOD that will enable new awareness and self-will.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of divine faith that resides in you.

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.  Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.  Incline your ear, and come unto me:  hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.  (Isaiah 55:  1-3, KJV)

Adoption through the Spirit, divinity and incarnation are topics, today.  Also, there is more on Jesus being scourged before the crucifixion.  A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using the ID “In The Hearts Of Green Birds” (Level 7 with 28,945 points, a member since March 19, 2013) posted the following:

So.. me and Jesus are brothers?

? John 20:17
…Jesus said, “..my Father and your Father, my God and your God.'”

~ If Jesus and I have the same Father, that means Jesus is my brother..
….do christians have any problems accepting that?

~ Notice how jesus said, “..my God and your God..”
(((And we know that God is One and Only)))

So, no way Jesus can be God as well..
and acknowledging that he has a God, means that he accepts being a servant of God.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Jesus Scourged (04/05/2014)—(7.)   As the divinely appointed institution having spiritual authority over the Jews, many members of the Sanhedrin were willing to dismiss the charges of extortion (threats to destroy the Temple), and insubordination.  However, like the High Priest Caiaphas, most were fully committed to the death of Jesus for the crime of blasphemy.  Their duty as caretakers of a sacred inheritance had become increasingly one of rigidly maintaining the customs, forms, rituals, and traditions of the earlier priesthood.  The ministry of Jesus centered in accomplishing permanent change by repentance; receipt, acknowledgment and application of spiritual gifts; and fulfillment of divine prophecy.  In keeping with the judgments, ordinances, and statutes from the covenant of Moses—as well as their goal to legitimate secular Jewish culture and history—Jesus was to be executed by stoning, rather than crucifixion.

(8.)  The Sanhedrin could only convince Pilate that Jesus had committed more than a minor infraction by charging the young rabbi with treason, and “delicately” implying existence of a global conspiracy that might also overwhelm (or include) the Governor.  Like Purim in the days of Babylon, the event took on the meaning of affirming and vindicating the existence of Jews everywhere within the empire.  By sending Jesus to Herod, Pilate thought to satisfy their concern.  Yet, this continued to show his intent to release Jesus.

(9.)  Persecution is a comprehensive effort by one religious group to destroy, undermine, and weaken the system of spiritual belief, lifestyle and practice held by others.  Persecution is rarely generated by atheists, nonbelievers, and those who are committed only to self-assertion, self-preservation and self-promotion.  While persecution begins as a tenet of some group’s belief, persecution always sees the application of civil law, political power, and violence against faith-based communities; always deceptively appears as aspects of popular culture, as a popular movement, as social activism, or as an independent collective expression and “the will of the people” while being government-fueled, government-funded, government-sponsored, and government-supported.  Atrocities such as genocide, holocaust, and torture are then committed under such banners as conflict resolution, constitutional and democratic rights, ethnic cleansing, law enforcement, purification, reparations, and the restoration of lawful boundaries and procedure.

(10.)  Like the execution of Jesus, the scourging of Jesus was not according to Jewish law and custom.  No more than a total of 40 lashes could be delivered under the laws given by GOD through Moses.  Along with divine wrath against sin there was to be a demonstration of divine compassion, grace, empathy, forgiveness, and mercy.  It became custom to deliver at most 39.  See Deuteronomy 25:  3, 2nd Samuel 7:  13-14, Isaiah 53:  1-12, Psalms 119:  157-161, Matthew 5:  10-12 and 5:  43-45, John 5:  1-18, Acts 13:  50, Acts 22:  1-16 and 1st Peter 2:  19-25, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  (Romans 8:  5-9, KJV)

“In The Hearts Of Green Birds”, here are a few points necessary to avoid “human error” and spiritual confusion:

(1.)  The place and status of believers as sons and daughters within the “family of GOD” is established through operations of an imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD, and so we speak of the adoption of the Holy Spirit.

(2.)  GOD is a spirit whom we acknowledge and speak of as having authority, awareness, personness, purpose, and will.  Because GOD is not made of material particles and physical matter (e.g., fog, mist, smoke, vapor), we say, GOD is boundless, formless, immortal, invisible, unchanging, and without physical limits.

(3.)  GOD uses many devices and mechanisms to make divinity known (we say, reveal himself) to the finite created beings and living creatures that have sentience (consciousness).  Incarnation (appearing in flesh) as Jesus Christ has been one tool of GOD used among mankind.

(4.)  The Holy Spirit is an aspect of all that exists as the being of GOD (we say, the GODhead).  The substance and content of Almighty GOD (we say, the Father) is the same as that for the Holy Spirit, and for the Incarnate Son.  Matter that is made entirely of spirit must come into understanding.  Included are faith, holiness, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

I am sure you won’t have any problem accepting that there is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)   Your brotherhood with Jesus depends on your having received a measure of the same Spirit that cooperated in the creation of heaven and earth, was breathed into Adam, and continues to maintain divine order as a universe.  As if one beloved by GOD, you are now to exist as an incarnation and manifestation of the divine.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of divine faith that resides in you.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  (Romans 8:  14, KJV)

Today, the duty of believers, divine love, and sharing are topics.  Also, there is more on judgment and whether believers can have complete happiness while justice demands the damnation of others.  The writer at “Yahoo! If God asks you to help your brother, will you help him, even with money ?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Can Someone Be Happy? (12/10/2013)—Yes, there are many things that will be the exclusive privilege of GOD.  However, where the good news of divine love demonstrated by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is correctly accepted and consistently put to work as a believer’s primary understanding, a person receives freedom, hope, and strength.  All confusion, doubt, fear, and guilt can be cast out through the joint operations of GOD and the believer.  Even so, as the rappers say, You can deal with this, or you can deal with that….  Every time a trapeze artist goes up under the Big Top, he may concentrate on falling or missing the bar; or he can concentrate on what he has perfected through practice.  Every time the lion tamer enters the cage, he may concentrate on being ripped apart by the fury and terror of the beasts, or he may concentrate on completing a thoroughly rehearsed routine.  Similarly, it is a choice that must be made voluntarily by every believer to focus upon the myriad of benefits and sacred possibilities, or to continue to be filled with the cares and worries that come by the animal aspects of human existence.  Many feel it is more noble to commit themselves to a desperate concentration upon family and loved ones than to become a full time worker for their inclusion within the coming kingdom.  Rather than spread the Gospel after preparation through fellowship, prayer, and study, instead, they attack all divine provisions for death, rebirth, and sanctification.  Righteous judgment does not always mean condemnation, and verdicts of “guilty as charged.”  There also is mercy, and proclamations of “not guilty” and even of “time served.”  Realizing the power of divine love in ones own experience through the ministries of Jesus Christ does require change, growth, learning, and submission to GOD, for the rebirth is properly understood as the revelation of GOD to all Creation.  (See Isaiah 65:  13-25, Romans 6:  3-5, 2nd Corinthians 5:  1-10, Colossians 3:  1-15 and Revelation 3:  17-19, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;  That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.  Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?  He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him:  was not this to know me? saith the Lord.  (Jeremiah 22:  13-16, KJV)

“deepak57”, may I share some thoughts.  Money is often needed, yet, is the least important thing.  In pride, many insist upon their having entitlement and rights to the belongings of others.  Many respond to giving with anger, hostility, and resentment.  Here are a few points carefully considered among Christian believers:

(1.)  GOD is a being whose content and makeup is pure spirit substance.  Included are such inseparable endowments as faith, holiness, humility, longsuffering, love, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  GOD is incarnate (has a body, dimension, or form), performs actions, and is known to be present through material objects that include created beings and living creatures.

(2.)  Through Creation, GOD displays divine process, feeling, intellect, person, presence, sacred purpose, and consecrated will.   Despite that human awareness and language do not allow a perfect understanding to things that are totally spirit in nature and substance, and that, therefore, our communication is always imperfect, mankind does have developed methods and expressions that allow us to have some shared understandings.

(3.)  Through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, men and women in the earth receive a revelation of divine love, whereby we learn that “helping” and being in relationship as brothers is also a process of making divinity and Spirit present, and visible.  For this reason, believers in the Gospel often must serve and share as those who are themselves in poverty, and forced to operate with financial limitations; yet, who possess spiritual gifts and understandings that are described as riches and wealth.  Human history has shown that, where we continue with a narrow focus generated by our animal aspects and the flesh, helping and solving problems become corrupted.  Help in time of trouble becomes simply a matter of barter, buying and selling, exploitation, lending, and giving away money, and so promotes betrayal, conflict, crime, destruction, selfishness, and war.

There is far more to be said, reasonably shared, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  It is not how little or much we possess; it is how much we enjoy what we possess; and the key to enjoying more is that we share what we have.  Thus, as humans, our compassion is most freely expressed when acknowledged and welcomed through gratitude and respect.  However, to love (we say, to add value) is to provide benefit without obligation and demands for payment—even the simple courtesy of a “thank you.”  Too often, human efforts to love by giving unselfishly become distracted and side-tracked, for our fleshly aspect repeatedly seeks validation by covenants of acceptance, cooperation, truth and trust as conditions for our continuing to help.  By contrast, what we do anchored and rooted in divine love allows both giver and receiver to be in full freedom, and, thereby, has enduring value to all.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  A ransom has been paid for you; you are counted as having infinite worth.  Jesus is coming.
