Today, reply is on the sacred knowledge and process among Christian believers whereby Jesus Christ is accepted as having been approved of GOD. Believers in Jesus as their Redeemer and Savior choose to exist as life companions to immortal, incorruptible divinity. Thus, it is written: 1st John 5: 1-10, King James Version (KJV): 1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. How do we know that Jesus had God’s approval?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen. (Luke 9: 28-36, King James Version, KJV)

(12/12/2016); The Transfiguration of Christ (11/14/2016)

Brother Virgil”, because Christians are to “know” by faith, by works, and by the seals divinity places upon them, here are some points on divine fullness (i.e., Deity; the Godhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) from the Bible along with some of the ideas I would pass on to my own sons and heirs:

1. Acts 2: 22-24, King James Version (KJV): 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

2. The appearance of divinity on the earth as Jesus Christ using flesh and the form of mankind (we say, the Incarnation) requires (1) humanity that is authentic through birth, aging, suffering, death, resurrection, and final judgment; (2) a display of personhood that is genuine through patterns of appetite, awareness, emotion, independence, mind, sensation, and finite self-will (willpower); (3) a recognizable endowment of life essence (we say, breath; spirit; word) imparted to mankind from the substance of the Creator as well as (4) a continuous presentation of the inseparable meanings, standards, and values that project a visible image of GOD who is immortal, incorruptible, and invisible.

3. Isaiah 55: 10-12, KJV: 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

4. Accord among the Godhead acknowledges multiple streams of sacred substance that express divine prerogative, eternal purpose, truth, and sovereign will. Included are faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, oneness without sameness, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

5. Deuteronomy 18: 21-22, KJV: 21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

6. Romans 14: 17-19, KJV: 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. 19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

7. Assurances, discernment of divine presence, and “knowing” (i.e., being certain; being convicted; being sure) emerge by the continuity, confluence, exchange, and interaction of diverse elements describing godly consciousness. Included are doctrine, sacred events (we say, miracles), sacred law, sacred practices (we say, sacraments), praise, prayer, promises, prophecy, oral traditions, spiritual songs, and holy writings.

8. John 14: 10-12, KJV: 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

9. All who are turned to divinity for sacred knowledge in place of finite human information and secular knowledge are in a process with GOD to receive conclusive declaration following ongoing service. Believers are to watch, wait, witness, and work as divinity provides expressions of consecration (we say, grace, faith, patience, revelation).

10. Ezekiel 12: 22-27, KJV: 22 Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth? 23 Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision. 24 For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel. 25 For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD. 26 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying. 27 Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off. 28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

11. Things known by faith are to become affirmed on the basis of their completion; their fulfillment; the appearance of peace as the resolution of conflict and the settlement of disputes through the application of sacred law; the disclosure of immutable conditions and unchanging operations that will remain unseen, yet, have existed before the foundation of heaven and earth; and the things proclaimed and possible with GOD being made actual before the living.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 12. Correctly understood, the device of father/son relationship is used to establish a consciousness of divine process that is to be fruitful among created beings and living creatures. There are no issues of conflicting authorities, persons within the Godhead opposing one another, or multiple deities requiring each other’s actions and approval to manifest their own personhood. Also, 13. John 10: 17-18, KJV: 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Messiah-anointed one

Messiah – Christ – “anointed one”

Today, the reply acknowledges that the Messiah promised from GOD has appeared in the person of Jesus Christ; also, Judaism and the process of full divine revelation are briefly considered along with the workings of sacred spirit imparted to Christian believers from the makeup of full divinity. Included are faith, holiness, joy, lovingkindness, personhood, wisdom, and wrath against sin. Carnal history, secular events and eye-witness accounts that fulfill divine proclamations, promises, and prophecies recorded in the holy writings are not the primary anchor of Christian belief. The active presence of the Holy Spirit itself is received as a fresh endowment of life essence from the makeup of GOD that establishes certain knowledge, and conviction for all sacred truth. One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Hindusufi” (Level 7 with 66,245 points, a member since April 09, 2011) posted the following:

Do you agree, the real Messiah is only for Jews and has yet to make an appearance?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. (John 1: 40-41, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: GOD Is With Us (03/15/2019); Faith Throughout the Scriptures? (01/04/2019); Sinners Must Become Convicted (11/27/2018); Christ Rejected By Pharisees? (06/17/2018); Called “The Anointed One” (05/08/2018); Sadducees and The Cross? (03/13/2016); Convicted By His Humility (09/10/2015); A Need to Know? Hindusufi”, it is an aspect of full faith within most mature Christians that Jesus already has appeared among mankind as the Messiah promised from divinity who would rule over the people of GOD upon the earth. In agreement with the truth that GOD is immutable and unchanging, the operations and process of GOD include the use of diversity and one-time events that may be displayed through different presentations to establish their continuing presence and value. There are multiple streams of sacred truth recorded in the holy writings that include proclamations, promises, and prophecy concerning Messiah. The earliest is acknowledged as the assurances granted to Adam, the first pair; is continued in the vision and covenant relationship bestowed on Abraham as the Friend of God; appears in the promise to David of dynasty and inheritance; are seen in promises of relief and restoration following captivity and exile; and provide details of the end time, of the apocalypse, and of eternal life. The revelation of divinity using human flesh to be visible and knowable on the earth (we say, the Incarnation) begins in the accounts of Creation, where life essence (we say, breath; spirit; word) from the makeup of divinity is imparted to a form fashioned to exist as a companion to immortal, incorruptible GOD. Communication, exchange and interaction with the Creator became possible for mankind through the deposit of inseparable divine substance. Included were faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, personhood, wisdom, and wrath against sin. The tribes of Jacob were already acknowledged by GOD as his “son,” and were the property of Pharaoh as all the land, its livestock, and the people. When Moses led the twelve tribes and a multitude from the Gentile nations out of Egypt, the Hebrews were being separated to serve as a nation on the earth under the dominion of the living GOD. They also were chosen to serve as caretakers and priests entrusted with divine oracles, sacred law, and holy sacraments. Those who are born again, and receive sacred knowledge, rather than worldly and secular knowledge, must “grow up again;” and by their indwelling spirit will be made able to discern and recognize correctly the spiritual events fulfilling the promises and prophecies regarding the Messiah. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. Genesis 3: 8-15, King James Version (KJV): 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

2. Numbers 23: 19, KJV: 19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

3. Daniel 9: 21-27, KJV: 21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. 22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. 23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

4. 1st John 2: 22-28, KJV: 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 5. 1st John 5: 10-12, KJV: 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Full of Power

Today, points are shared on the operations of the Holy Spirit that are to convict the world of sin, judgment, and righteousness. A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile data appears) posted the following:

What does it mean that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin or that God draws people to salvation?

When will he draw me to repentance and faith or convict me? I have begged God to save me. Why won’t he actually do it? I’m getting mad. I already hate myself , have suicidal thoughts, and wish I was anorexic

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (John 8: 3-11, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: How Sinners Become Perfect (11/26/2018); First, Become Born Again (09/21/2018); Repentance Among Christian Believers (07/06/2018); What Is A Spirit? (03/06/2018); Through Love Not Persuasion (01/18/2018); Convinced/Convicted? (05/16/2017); A Fallen Nature? (09/01/2014); In the Likeness of His Resurrection (09/02/2014)

Anonymous”, here are some points intended to encourage and nourish developing Christian believers. To exist as life companions to immortal, incorruptible divinity, the living must share communication, exchange, and interaction (i.e., ongoing relationship) with divinity where their own makeup allows them to discern, react, and respond to the spirit substance that presents the character, makeup, and substance of GOD. Created beings and living creatures must receive fresh endowments of life essence (we say, breath; spirit; utterance; word) that impart and implant the inseparable aspects of divine nature. Included are faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, oneness without sameness, personhood, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

1. Conviction is a product of faith and the spiritual operations wherein divinity becomes known and apprehended as active presence (we also say, divine fullness; the Godhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit). While conviction seems to be the same as becoming certain, being convinced, gaining confidence, or concluding and being sure concerning facts and information, conviction is not a product of thought or finite human mind such as feeling (i.e., sensation), imagination, intellect, logic, persuasion, and carnal reason.

2. The conviction of sin may be described as the correct knowledge that the operations of sin oppose the continued existence of sacred law, the Lawgiver, and all divine order throughout Creation. While sin is no material or physical object that has been put forth by divinity, sin displays direction, effect, and presence; and sin promotes destruction, nonexistence, and the return to conditions of chaos, confusion, and flux that were in place before the founding of heaven and earth. Sin is an enigma that has no spirit content from GOD, yet, the operations of sin may dominate awareness and self-will, and neutralize willpower within the living.

3. Despite the divine law, eternal purpose, sacred standards, and godly values expressed by divinity, mankind has continued to accept the operations of sin as being natural, normal, and routine. The Holy Spirit does not appear to accuse, arouse feelings of condemnation and guilt, or to threaten judgment and the second death. Even so, the Spirit gives rise to sorrowing for sin and repentance. Continuing the ministry of the Risen Lord to his followers upon the earth, the Holy Spirit (we also say, the Comforter; the Holy Ghost; the Spirit of Prophecy; the Spirit of Truth) furthers the transformation of mankind to exist as a new creation. With the work of exposing the true nature of sin, the Holy Spirit also accelerates growth of ones spirit, intercedes through prayer, provides spiritual gifts to the body of believers, and seals and shields believers against defilement.

4. An example of conviction that appears in the holy writings may be seen with Moses and the burning bush. Operations of the flesh such as excitement at discovery, curiosity, and inquisitiveness led Moses to leave his sheep and approach the burning bush. When told by a voice from within the flames that the ground was holy, conviction and operations of the holy spirit led Moses to prostrate himself without hesitation in acknowledgment, praise, and worship.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 5. Another example of conviction is seen with the apostle of Jesus Christ remembered as “doubting Thomas.” Others of the group who must have seemed to Thomas to be merely cheerful and excited after the flesh reported that, while Thomas was absent, Jesus had appeared in the place where they were hiding from the authorities, and mourning the Savior’s death. Reacting without faith and “in the flesh,” Thomas replied he would not believe that Jesus had been crucified or resurrected from the dead until he would thrust his own finger into the place where the Lord’s wounds should appear. Days later, Jesus appeared among them again, and Thomas was present. Jesus challenged the apostle to touch his wounds, and be no longer faithless, but believe. From conviction, Thomas fell to his knees and cried out in acknowledgment, praise, and worship, “My Lord and my GOD.”) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

A Seared Porterhouse Steak

Today, reply is on a persons conscience becoming seared along with points on conviction of sin and sealing by the Holy Spirit. As the children of GOD and joint heirs with Jesus Christ, developing Christians are to display divine spirit content continuously without also diminishing, exhausting, or “using up” their full supply. The fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” Religion and Spirituality public forum who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information shared) posted the following:

Can someone who has a seared conscience believe in Jesus?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. (Acts 5: 29-32, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: A “Feel Good” Lifestyle? (06/22/2018); Convinced/Convicted? (05/16/2017); Holy Fire From GOD? (04/27/2017); A Matter of Conscience (04/07/2017); The Witness of Conscience (09/23/2016); Only One True GOD? (09/20/2016); A Guarantee of Judgment? (04/15/2016)

Anonymous”, in times past, it was held that the conscience is a divinely given process of the flesh for self-assessment and self-regulation while it is the Holy Spirit that establishes conviction of the divine judgment against sin. Even so, many developing Christian believers read the language from the Bible speaking of “a seared conscience” to mean having a “defective”, “defiled”, or “flawed” conscience. Branding (searing) cattle with a hot iron and forms of scarification have been used in order to leave a mark identifying ownership. Mature believers often go further by applying the idea that—as in cooking where one sears a meat from the oven in a fry pan atop the stove to give the protein color and a “crust” that provides texture to the outside, and that will seal in the flavors, juices, and moisture without frying, or overcooking the inside—ones inner content and spirit substance must become sealed through operations of the Holy Spirit so that the fresh endowment of spirit content they receive from the makeup of divinity will continue as enduring and permanent. In the same way that an injury is cauterized (i.e., burning and fire are used to close an open wound), GOD applies divine law and sacred judgment to repair damage to shared covenant, and the fullness of divine order. So to speak, sacred flames must be used to destroy the germs, stop the bleeding (coagulate the blood), and ensure that no further contamination may occur. The device that breaks off all further loss from the body also makes it that there can be no further correction or gain to the body. Hardness of heart and stubbornness may become a lasting condition where exaggerated self-focus, guilt, and shame are sealed within a conscience without either a place for its exit, or a place for the entrance and workings of the spirit of new life from GOD. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.) 1st Timothy 4: 1-3, King James Version (KJV): 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

(2.) Galatians 5: 16-18, KJV: 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

(3.) Ephesians 4: 29-32, KJV: 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) Revelation 22: 10-17, KJV: 10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, topics include decision-making, rebirth, and the operations of will within mankind.  Our abilities and behaviors that derive from properties of the flesh include appetite, the processing of sense data (hearing, seeing, touching, etc.), and the functions of heart  and mind (e.g., emotion, imagination, recall, thought).  The choice by sinners to return to GOD (we say, repentance) is a choice to allow divinity to make multiple, permanent changes in the full pattern of our makeup and personhood.  Through rebirth, sinners are to become vessels of divine spirit, and to continue as the offspring of GOD on the earth.  The fighter in the “Yahoo! THE GOLDEN ARROW:  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world:  but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.  (Romans 12:  1-3, King James Version, KJV)

“john”, in the “analysis” many Christian believers are willing to make, the differences between the faculties of our mind and the operations by our spirit content from GOD must be accounted for.  Conviction, decisions, and opinions are products of finite tools for human survival such as awareness, intellect, logic, philosophy, carnal reason, science, secular knowledge, and self-will (we also say, willpower).  For the sinner who seeks a correct relationship to the Creator, a divinely provided process must be entered upon wherein ones inborn life essence put forth by GOD at Creation (we say, the breath; spirit; Word) undergoes permanent changes; and the sinner becomes a “developing believer” who will begin to operate on the basis of their own fresh endowment of sacred substance imparted from the makeup of divinity.

Those who are “born-again” do not choose “to believe” so much as they choose to make commitment to new experiences of discovery, gradual growth, fellowship with other believers, and regular practices that will nourish themselves as sons and daughters of GOD (e.g., praise, prayer, study of the Bible, unselfish service, regular worship).  Those born-again also must “grow up again” and encounter “growing pains” and life challenges on the earth that include bereavement, disappointments, hardship, and suffering.  As developing believers, all are supplied with inseparable spirit content from the makeup of GOD (e.g., faith, forbearance, forgiveness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin).  Even so, there are differences in their levels of ability, insight, maturity, etc.

The operations of sin may dominate consciousness and self-will in created beings and living creatures; yet, sin is contrary to human and divine nature.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law and promotes chaos, non-existence and the elimination of the divine order that maintains the universe.  Where believers will welcome and perform in agreement with the sovereign will of GOD they become more capable of recognizing, rejecting, and resisting sin through their lifestyle and daily routines.  With these points in mind, consider the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  John 4:  24, King James Version (KJV):  24 God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

(2.)  1st Corinthians 2:  1-5, KJV:  1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.  2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.  3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.  4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

(3.)  1st Corinthians 2:  12-14, KJV:  12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:  for they are foolishness unto him:  neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, focus is on language describing the sinner’s standing as a new creation of GOD through the Holy Spirit.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers (Philippines)” using the ID “Adam” (Level 1 with 121 points, a member since April 26, 2017) posted the following:

What does it mean to be convicted/convinced by the Holy Spirit?

Thoughts? Scripture?

Thanks in advance!

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:  For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:  In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.  But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.  Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;  And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any:  even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.  (Colossians 3:  5-15, King James Version, KJV)

“Adam”, here are some points I can share as a Christian believer.  A sinner must eventually become aware of and realize the active presence of divine substance within their own life such as faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, hope, joy, lovingkindness, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.   Sacred knowledge and discernment (ability to apply ones own spirit content from the makeup of GOD as a standard to recognize and respond to deposits of the same spirit matter within events, oneself, other persons, utterances, etc.) can be gained through contemplation and prayer, fellowship with other believers, regular study of the holy writings, and observance of spiritual practices (we say, “sacraments” such as baptism, confession, the Lord’s Supper).

The language that one is “convinced” actually speaks to becoming “persuaded”, and therefore suggests that the process of the Holy Spirit relies on the finite human tools of academic argument, debate, intelligence, logic, carnal reason, and critical thinking.  More correctly understood, there are  operations of GOD performed through the covenant relationship established by Christ, and the “battle” is not for the mind, rather it is for the self-will to conform to the divine will.

The language that one is “convicted” speaks to acknowledging ones own immersion within a divine process of judgment against sin that already has been concluded.  Mature believers understand all mankind is guilty before GOD, is now sentenced to death, and is both required to complete mortality and endure an ongoing examination for final destruction in a second death.  Only by atonement and the many provisions of GOD in Christ does the guilty sinner become transformed to exist having “eternal life” as a companion to immortal, incorruptible, invisible divinity.  Consider again the following using language from the Bible:

(1.)  Ezekiel 18:  19-21, King James Version (KJV):  19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.  20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son:  the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.  21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

(2.)  2nd Corinthians 1:  9-10, KJV:  9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:  10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver:  in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

(3.)  Romans 5:  6-9, KJV:  6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.  7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die:  yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.  8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

(4.)  Romans 5:  17-21, KJV:  17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)  18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.  20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:  21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

(5.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (6.)  Revelation 21:  7-8, KJV:  7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:  which is the second death.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, focus is on judging others and the requirement for Christian believers that they acknowledge only one true GOD.  Given the operations by divinity to release mankind from certain demands of covenant and sacred law that many began to regard as contradictory, destructive, and oppressive, often those lacking faith from the makeup of GOD now mistakenly think that the purpose of salvation through Jesus Christ is the elimination of all divine law, the annulment of sacred judgment, the approval of self-will as the most correct standard for created beings and living creatures, and the accomplishment of their own private prosperity.  When their errors are made known to them, many feel they are being unfairly and unreasonably attacked and condemned.  Thus, mature believers are cautioned and encouraged by such holy writings as 2nd Thessalonians 3:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:  2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men:  for all men have not faith.  3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.  The fighter at “Yahoo! 7 Answers (Australia) using the ID “Trouble Maker” (Level 6 with 14,897 points, a member since May 11, 2013) posted the following:

Last time in church the pastor said that “we are worshipping the one true God”?

As if others worshipping a false God? I felt some pain in my heart because of such sectarian attitude, but I guess he was trying to make to congregation happy. What do you think?

THE GOLDEN ARROWS:  Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool:  what house will ye build me? saith the Lord:  or what is the place of my rest?  Hath not my hand made all these things?  Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost:  as your fathers did, so do ye.  Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:  Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.  When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.  But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,  And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.  Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,  And cast him out of the city, and stoned him:  and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.  And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.  And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.  (Acts 7:  49-60, KJV)

“Trouble Maker”, the goal of most mature Christian believers is to please GOD, who is a spirit, and who requires exclusive devotion (i.e., the acknowledgment of no other gods).  One of the reasons geneticists and those who conduct studies of DNA chains insist upon mathematical precision is that they are dealing with descriptions for objects within our sphere of life that may not include “hands on” and physical measurement.  Much of their work does not include common dimensions (e.g., breadth, depth, height, length, weight); focus will be on calculations, projections, and theoretical measurements, instead.  Similarly, sinners who begin study for their salvation as Christian believers must continuously apply specific tools provided from divinity to acquire fresh spirit content from the makeup of GOD, arrive at sacred knowledge, and to become consistent in responding to sacred practices (we say, sacraments).  Where they understand correctly, it is the goal of every believer is to become one who serves through Jesus Christ, and through whom Christ serves and continues his divine ministry to the hearts, minds, and spirit of others.  Believers, therefore, must operate having certainty, conviction, and mature (some would say, stable or unshakeable) faith.  One’s declaration of faith may have power even when their manner and way of sharing is calm, is quiet, is without fanaticism, and makes no unusual outward display.  The lifestyle and ongoing routine of a believer should always proclaim their faith through actions and words that are plain, unambiguous, and unequivocal.  GOD is no more unrighteous for rejecting sinners than a young woman who refuses to grant a second date to those fellows who, in their time together, were disrespectful, insulting, overeager, and “long in the tooth.”  All who have been created have not been willing to abide as children of GOD.  Consider again how some of these ideas are shared using language from the Bible:

(1.)  Romans 10:  13-17, King James Version (KJV):  13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?  15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!  16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?  17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

(2.)  Ephesians 4:  4-7, KJV:  4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;  5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,  6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

There is far more to be said, carefully examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
