Fall of Man

A depiction showing Adam, Eve, and the Serpent as the prophecy was spoken of mankind’s victory to be achieved through Jesus Christ (see reference below).

Today, reply is on the sacred meaning and value for the account of Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit. Some become distracted thinking the holy writings that speak to male and female differences in relationship with GOD are focused on sexual behavior. No complaint appears in Scripture because mankind expresses sexuality; rather, men are charged regarding the righteousness of their service and worship. In the accounts of Creation, both the completeness of divinity and the completeness of mankind come into view. By seeking divine benefit and privilege through a material object and an act of self-will, the life essence (breath; spirit; word) from the makeup of GOD that was deposited within the first pair became defiled. By their actions, Adam and his mate violated the accord with GOD, and rejected their original condition and covering in place as their justification, their relationship with divinity. Thus, it is written: Romans 1: 18-25, King James Version (KJV): 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile is shared) posted the following:

Isn’t it obvious the Adam and Eve story is about sex and not eating a fruit?

It is about having sex.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: (Isaiah 30: 1, King James Version, KJV)

Anonymous”, many make the mistake that the account of Adam and Eve is intended to condemn sexual intimacy, and are quick to speak of “original sin.” The loss of innocence described is not speaking of ones virginity. True, the account does speak of appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual desire) that is a part of human life from birth to death, and that can not be controlled directly through intellect, logic and reason. Also for those lacking consciousness of things that are sacred, the word “naked” may trigger the false impression that lust and sexual activity are the most important topics, there. Among Christian believers, the account of Adam and Eve reveals sacred knowledge centering on divine law and the operations of divinity, rather than secular knowledge, natural law, and the operations of the flesh. The fall of Adam pertains to multiple sacred themes appropriate for knowing and being in relationship with divinity. Included are the full character, makeup and substance of humanity (mankind); divinity as the origin of knowledge and truth, rather than human actions, emotions, and mind; being held accountable for ones own actions and choices; the transgression of divine law, the frustration of eternal purpose, and the removal of opposition to divine will (we say, the beginnings of sin and its elimination); the corruption of continuing relationship between the Creator and the created; the introduction of death and mortality; the proclamations, promises, and prophecies provided as comfort and encouragement to mankind; and the final transformation of mankind to exist as an immortal, incorruptible companion to GOD. Operations to be carried out by the divine fullness (we also say, divinity; the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) come into view that include the life, ministry and death of Jesus Christ. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. Genesis 3: 1-5, King James Version (KJV): 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

2. Genesis 3: 9-15, KJV: 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

3. 1st Timothy 2: 13-15, KJV: 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 4. Romans 8: 5-9, KJV: 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Why did God flood the earth? Were people acting differently than he thought they would when he made them? His creations were a failure?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (2nd Peter 3: 5-14, King James Version, KJV)

Anonymous”, the great flood to destroy the world was a divine response to defilement of mankind and the earth through sin. Many developing Christian believers make the error of thinking that the great flood to destroy the earth means the Creation of GOD was a failure. As mature Christians they will realize that the operations of sin are an enigma: Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Lawgiver, and the universe that requires divine order; sin has not been created by divinity; the makeup of sin has no material or spirit substance; sin may dominate awareness and self-will (i.e., willpower) within created beings and living creatures; and sin promotes a return to the conditions of chaos, confusion, and lack of eternal purpose that was in place before the founding of heaven and earth.

Sin continues on the earth, and has not been eliminated by the death of sinners, divine forgiveness, or the sacred promises of GOD. Even so, in the same way the great flood permitted a re-populating of the earth, the appearance of divinity in flesh as Jesus Christ has permitted mankind to receive a fresh endowment of life essence from the makeup of GOD, and men willingly may exist as a new creation. Divinity established an everlasting covenant with Noah and the living creatures that survived the flood ensuring there never would be another global flood. Other means would be used to deliver mankind, preserve the earth, and provide salvation.

The creation of existence, the earth, and all life was by divinity; the creation of the world as a man-made system for communication, exchange and survival was by mankind. Through the appearance of divinity in flesh as Jesus Christ (we say, the Incarnation), mankind becomes an ark (storage chest), and a vessel containing divine substance. The living become the offspring of divinity, children of GOD, and joint heirs with Jesus. Their divine content includes inseparable aspects of divine fullness: faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, personhood, wisdom, and wrath against sin. Engaging their own content of sacred substance, believers now are more completely and correctly able to discern, recognize, reject, and resist the operations of sin. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. Genesis 1: 31, King James Version (KJV): 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

2. Genesis 6: 11-19, KJV: 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. 15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. 16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. 17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. 18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

3. Ezekiel 18: 20-23, KJV: 20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. 21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

4. Genesis 9: 8-16, KJV: 8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, 9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; 10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. 11 And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. 12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: 15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 5. Isaiah 55: 7-13, KJV: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, reply is on whether Christians may unintentionally perform “the works of the devil.” As with the works of men, the works of the devil are to be discerned, recognized and responded to on the basis of their expression of divine purpose, their spirit content, and their appearance as the sovereign will of GOD. Where a sinner has correctly entered into the sacred operations of rebirth, repentance, and their existence as the new creation of Jesus Christ, they will continue as developing believers who must mature (ripen) for harvest by the Lord at his appearing (i.e., the Advent, the Rapture, the Second Coming). Because there must be discovery, gradual growth, learning through trial and error, risk-taking, and many other features that allow for errors and shortcomings, those born again who also must grow-up again are encouraged and shielded through divine gifts and provisions that include comfort, confession, forbearance, forgiveness, healing, praise, prayer, refreshing, rest, and unselfish service. A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Hard Times” (Level 1 with 4 points, a member since September 02, 2007) posted the following:

Do you think some Christians inadvertently do the devil’s work?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. (Proverbs 20: 11, King James Version, KJV)

Hard Times”, many mature Christians would say “the devil’s work” is primarily blasphemy and slander, the acts of speech that attack the character, process, and substance of divinity and of other persons through the use of deception, lies, the unlawful shedding of blood, and the violation of covenant relationship. Because defilement and sin also have their origin within ones own makeup and spirit content, the works of the devil may be mistaken for the works of the flesh. Here are some points to consider that should be shared with sinners who choose to become developing Christian believers:

1. 1st John 3: 7-9, King James Version (KJV): 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

2. John 8: 38-45, KJV: 38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. 39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. 41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. 42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

3. Galatians 5: 16-21, KJV: 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 4. Romans 13: 9-10, KJV: 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, reply shares points endorsing sacred knowledge in place of secular knowledge and the many fascinations from idolatry, superstition, the occult, and the supernatural. To avoid spiritual confusion, divine truth should be maintained as set apart, privileged, and exclusive. Through the operations of sin, mankind has become vulnerable to defilement of their inborn life essence (breath; spirit; word) imparted from the makeup of GOD. Sin may dominate consciousness and self-will within created beings and living creatures; may accelerate the completion of their mortality, or the end of their duration; and may result in their destruction through the second death. In the same way human survival requires ability to recognize and respond to truth that describes and obeys the conditions put forth by natural law, ability to communicate, survive, and be in ongoing relationship with divinity requires consciousness of spirit substance, the conditions put forth by divine law, and the unadulterated operations of the Creator. One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Wesley” (Level 1 with 8 points, a member since August 19, 2017) posted the following:

If God created the spirit world then why would the bible claim he is so against us exploring it or using its energy?

For things. Do any of the Christian’s think about this. The bible speaks out strongly against the occult and viewing the spirit world or gaining knowledge. All of this can be done through meditation.

Why if God were real would he be threatened by his creation gaining energy knowledge and power. All those scriptures just prove that it is a control mechanism anyways to keep people powerless.

The ancient Egyptians had stuff on Hell Outer darkness and a Second death you can look it up this apparently is where the bible got some of its ideas.

What was the point of their religion though that if you didn’t meditate or follow a spiritual path that you were at risk for those things naturally after death. They even suggested your spirit could die and then boom you no longer exist at all no reincarnation nothing. Outer darkness is blackness and emotional turmoil you can’t view the astral without an open third eye so all you will see is nothingness and you will be consumed by your own fears and thoughts till your spirit dies.

The only way out is meditation otherwise you are dead and experience bad stuff if not in this life then the after. The ancient religions did not teach to worship Gods but that they were advanced beings to guide humanity to be like themselves. In some of the scriptures it was suggested they are physical to like us and live on another planet and were once here.

Think about all this. Obey “God” and die or open your eyes and be free.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? (John 3: 11-12, King James Version, KJV)

Wesley” a meaningful response by a mature Christian believer to your presentation would have to share many important points on the nature, process, and substance of divine fullness (we also say, the summation of all that is divinity; the Godhead; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Where you are willing to continue developing, growing, and learning, the following few points may be helpful to avoid spiritual confusion, and to provide further focus and structure to your studies:

1. Christian belief centers on establishing uninterrupted communication, exchange, and interaction with divinity (we say, Christ-likeness; ongoing relationship; the image of GOD). There must be acknowledgment of GOD appearing as active presence who, despite being immortal, incorruptible and invisible, has personhood; is capable of projecting existence and life; and provides duration, form, opportunity, possibilities, substance, and value to multiple created beings and living creatures.

2. Sin is an enigma to mankind that does not have ordinary material and physical form; does not respond to finite human tools such as intellect, logic, carnal reason, and science; and is not subject to mechanical and natural law. Sin has not been created or put forth by divinity, and contains no spirit matter or sacred substance; yet, sin may dominate consciousness and self-will within the living.

3. The operations of sin oppose the continued existence of divine law, the Lawgiver, and divine order throughout the universe. Sin promotes destruction, non-existence, upheaval, and return to the conditions of chaos, flux, and confusion that were in place before the creation of heaven and earth.

4. Divinity must be apprehended on the basis of things “set apart” (we say, consecrated; made holy; purified; sanctified), and specific divine operations that include atonement, forgiveness, incarnation, judgment, resurrection, and revelation. Inseparable aspects of divine fullness must be imparted and internalized within the living (we say, breath; life essence; spirit; word) that enable discernment and response to GOD.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 5. There are many obstacles to mankind achieving clear, complete and correct sacred knowledge imparted by the Holy Spirit. Many promote counterfeits of divinity and deceptive practices as well as products of emotion, imagination, and sensation. Graphic and memorable thrusts against sacred truth include idolatry; superstition; fascination with the occult and the supernatural; perverted sexuality; sorcery and witchcraft; and secular knowledge (e.g., genetics; human history; mathematics; technology). ) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, reply is on why harlots and publicans were receptive to the ministry of Jesus Christ. The multitude that came to Jesus for healing included many whose faith derived from “the law and the prophets,” and who acknowledged the workings of divine love and spirit, rather than the strict practice of customs, rites, rituals, and traditions by the Temple elders, Levites, Pharisees, and priests. The crowds baptized by John the Baptist also had been instructed to expect that one would be sent by GOD (Christ; the Messiah) whom they were to obey pertaining to the soon-coming kingdom of GOD. Because the gospel messages of acceptance by divinity, forgiveness, redemption, and new life were being demonstrated as actual and present, those who would be otherwise lost and impoverished began to believe they could be released from defilement, and were eager to embrace the vision shared by the Lord. A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality, who uses the ID “Breakthrough” (Level 6 with 15,427 points, a member since June 29, 2013) posted the following:

In the bible, why were the big time sinners more receptive to Jesus than those who had committed less sins?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. Breakthrough”, here are some points developing Christians are careful to consider regarding the ministry of Jesus Christ to sinners (we also say, to the mob; the multitudes; the crowds):

1. The practice of prostitution was a transgression of covenant law (we say, sin) wherein a person also denied family and marriage law, their birthright and inheritance from those who entered the Promised Land, and their sacred relationship with divinity. Harlots (also called prostitutes, strange women, and whores in Scripture) appear as representatives and symbols of cities, towns, and nations married to GOD, that commit adultery, betrayal, and idolatry by exalting and worshiping false gods and man-made images.

2. The publicans described in the Scriptures include those we now call celebrities, entertainers, professional gamblers, gladiators, government officials, politicians, socialites, “stars”, and tax collectors. Like the prostitutes, publicans as a class were those who carefully examine the behavior, character, and conduct of others in order to manipulate them, and have advantage. Like Jesus, these “knew what was in man,” and developed skill for mastery in exchange and interaction.

3. Jews who adopted the fashions of the Greeks (we say, Hellenization), those who integrated and intermarried during captivity and exile, and those valuing Roman citizenship were often condemned as publicans, and despised as traitors, turncoats and those who no longer had a share in the privileges of covenant inheritance.

4. Repentance for sin appears through operations of the Holy Spirit and often begins on the basis of unfulfilled desire for life change, rejecting secular relationships, and operations of the flesh that include conscience and remorse as well as sorrowing for sin.

Consider also the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.) Ezekiel 33: 10-12, King James Version (KJV): 10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

(2.) Ezekiel 16: 35-39, KJV: 35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD: 36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them; 37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness. 38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy. 39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.

(3.) Ezekiel 16: 48-52, KJV: 48 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. 49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good. 51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done. 52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) Matthew 21: 28-32, KJV: 28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. 29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. 30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. 31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, reply is on avoiding spiritual confusion that results from seeking to combine sacred and secular knowledge to describe the Creation of mankind. The relationships and roles whereby mankind interacts with the three persons of divine fullness (we say, the GODhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) appear through the operation of both flesh and divine spirit. To exist as a living companion to immortal, incorruptible divinity is enriched and made even more challenging by the differences among the living that result from aspects of developmental growth and gender. A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” Religion and Spirituality forum who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile data shown) posted the following:

If Eve was made from Adam’s rib, wouldn’t they have had identical DNA?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3: 26-29, King James Version, KJV)

(10/01/2015); The Male, the Female, and GOD (02/09/2014); Destroying the Resurrected Body? (02/10/2014); A Life Companion? (11/07/2012); On Asking Why (11/08/2012)

Anonymous”, when mixing ideas and language from both Christian belief and science there is great risk that those who are set apart as sanctified for service to GOD will become defiled, unclean, and no longer fit―profanity and spiritual confusion may result. It is not inappropriate to describe the material makeup and substance of the human body using the human tools of biochemistry and genetics that speak of cellular process, “chromosomes”, and strands of DNA. Even so, developing Christian believers are correct to prayerfully consider the multiple streams of sacred truth that describe Creation, and the divine operations for redemption, salvation, and eternal life. For example:

1. Before the creation of Adam (the name GOD gave to the first male and female human pair), divinity established the pattern that diverse species of living creatures would exist on the earth displaying gender differences that would encourage them to endure as life companions, interact, reproduce through sexual joining, and populate the entire earth.

2. Gender and sexuality are inherited through birth, and continue from cradle to grave. Both male and female children may become sexually active before they develop skills to meet the demands for accountability within stable relationships, or attain emotional, psychological, and spiritual maturity. Only the female of the species will bear children (i.e., nurture them within her own body).

3. A female is accounted as a woman and no longer a child on the basis of her physiological maturity (i.e., features of her physical body, and her readiness to bear children); her social skills to meet life challenges; and the same distinctive traits that appeared within Eve (the name given the female by the male). Included are the length of her hair; the pitch, timbre, and tone of her voice; her body odor; and her vulnerability to injury and sickness.

4. Because sexual joining occurs as emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual all at the same time, even simple behaviors such as holding hands or a kiss on the cheek may communicate the same attraction and desire as full intercourse.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 5. Having and expressing sexuality are not condemned as “original sin;” and sexual joining can result in both partners being reinforced and strengthened. The eternal purposes of GOD also are to continue as active and present within human consciousness through ones own sexuality. However, behavior such as casual sex, promiscuity, and sexual addiction repeatedly have been condemned as contrary to divine intent. To avoid defilement and weakening of ones self-will (willpower), Christian believers usually avoid fornication (joining ones spirit to unseen partners who are not physically present). Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Table of the Temple Moneychanger

The photo depicts the table of the currency exchanger projecting discipline, order, and the “letter of the law” while denying the presence, righteousness, and spirit of the Lawgiver.

Today, reply is on the sacred event wherein Jesus cleansed the temple at Jerusalem by revealing the wrath of GOD against sin.  Jesus had been to the temple many times before as a firstborn son during obligatory feasts and festival days.  This time, his entry into Jerusalem was as head of a new ministry (one that had healed thousands and released others from demons); and he was met by those from many different areas of the nation whose lives he already had touched.  In addition to the ancient message that GOD must be worshipped through obedience to sacred law, Jesus brought the message, GOD must be worshiped in spirit and in truth.  One of the many fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” Religion and Spirituality forum who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile data shared) posted the following:

If Jesus loves sinners then why did he attack money changers?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?  And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.  And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,  And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.  And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.  And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,  And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?  (Matthew 21:  10-16, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  His Enemies A Footstool (04/29/2018); Divine Wrath Against Sin? (10/17/2017); Determining What Is Sin (06/15/2017); Hosanna In The Highest (04/09/2017); Divine Love Seen As Hate? (01/29/2015); A House Of Prayer For All People? (08/10/2014); Holy Ground (03/30/2014); The Temple Mount (03/31/2014); Money-changers in The Temple? (06/23/2013); Believers and the Cross (06/24/2013)

“Anonymous”, here are some points you may find useful.  Most Christian believers are able to understand that GOD’s love for the sinner is like that of a father’s love for his daughters or sons in spite of their poor grades at school, or their poor performance of chores within the home.  There may be anger, disappointment, and a punishment, yet, the affection and bond of parent and child continues as permanent, stable, and unshaken:

1.  By allowing moneychangers and those selling animals as offerings and sacrifices to be stationed on holy ground, and within the precincts of the temple, non-residents, travelers and folk only passing-through mistakenly were seen as being assisted and encouraged to perform genuine devotion and worship.

2.  The moneychangers and livestock sellers also were seen as officials and authoritative influences within the sacred hierarchy that included only the consecrated Priests, Levites, and saints  (e.g., prophets, sanctified widows, and those under vows such as Anna and Simon).

3.  The lawyers, scribes, factions. and beggars who also were part of the continuing temple community were like the overlay of party officials, politicians, lobbyists, and petitioners in some national capitals who seek to control and direct government, legislation, and public policy, yet have no authority as government employees.

4.  The mandatory feasts and festivals that required all firstborn males and heirs to appear at Jerusalem, also continued the experience of Israel as a people in relationship with divinity as sons of Abraham, as nomads, as pilgrims, and as those seeking the city of GOD.

5.  While Jesus was respected as only having the authority and title of “rabbi”, he performed a cleansing of the temple proclaiming his anointing and authority to be that of a prophet, a judge, a king, a son of Abraham, the heir of David, and the promised Messiah.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, 6.  Jesus did not display anger, temporal feelings of hatred, or behavior that was a momentary, interpersonal response to disrespect, an insult, or some act of rudeness that could be easily dismissed, forgiven, and forgotten.  Jesus displayed and revealed jealousy, zeal, and the character, makeup and substance of GOD directed against blasphemy, defilement, idolatry, impenitence, and irreverence—we say, the wrath against sin that is a perpetual aspect within the full GODhead.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
