Reconciliation, and the purity and sobriety of Jesus Christ upon the cross are in view, today.  The cross is to be seen as a depiction of offering and sacrifice to GOD from mankind as well as the deliverance of divine judgment against sin.  The Savior did not become delirious, faint, hallucinate, or pass out upon the cross.  Christ appeared in the earth to accomplish a work of cosmic proportion that would impact the entire Creation and universe for eternity.  He was to die, be buried, be raised from the grave, and appear before the throne of divine judgment.  Not only would he endure condemnation upon the earth for a divine covenant partner, Israel, he would be judged on behalf of the entire Temple community (priests, Levites, scribes, beggars, etc.) as well as for all the sin of Adam with his children as heirs and offspring of GOD.  In their despair of life, hysterical fear, and weakness, many who are untrained think it an act of love (or mercy) to share illegal and prescription drugs that should be administered only by health professionals, perform euthanasia, and provide assisted suicide to family and friends.  Many believers understand that Jesus was challenged and tested while on the cross, and refused to drink a mixture that might have dulled his senses.  As one living out the vow of a Nazarite, Jesus would avoid strong drink.  Thus, instead of being given a testimony describing such remedies, believers have been given accounts of the exalted work of our Savior upon the cross to transform the meaning and value of death through resurrection, and the continuous, voluntary acceptance of divine will.

Psalm 69:  20-22, King James Version (KJV):  20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness:  and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.  21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.  22 Let their table become a snare before them:  and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.

Jeremiah 8:  13-15, KJV:  13 I will surely consume them, saith the LORDthere shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.  14 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there:  for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.  15 We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!

Jeremiah 9:  12-15, KJV:  12 Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?  13 And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;  14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:  15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

Jeremiah 23:  14-16, KJV:  14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing:  they commit adultery, and walk in lies:  they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.  15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall:  for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.  16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you:  they make you vain:  they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

Why wouldn’t a loving god give his only begotten son some opiates while his son was hanging on the cross?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,  They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall:  and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.  And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots:  that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.  And sitting down they watched him there;  And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.  Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.  And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,  And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.  Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,  He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.  He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him:  for he said, I am the Son of God.  (Matthew 27:  33-43, KJV)

“Dangerous Mr.”, for many mature Christian believers, through operations of the Holy Spirit, blood and truth from the cross are flowing despite time and space to here and now, making possible the answer below:

(1.)  At Gethsemane, Jesus realized the work of the cross would be beyond comprehension for created beings and living creatures despite the careful plan of divinity appearing and abiding upon the earth in flesh (we say, Incarnation).  Both a revealing of divinity and the sacred potential of humanity was being required.  There would have to be total  authenticity, completeness, legitimacy, purity, and sobriety for what would be displayed to the living (both those in heaven and upon the earth).  Christ approached the cross somewhat in the same way many professional athletes approach their season, the playoffs, and the final championship game.  They demand the best from themselves and each other.  They would despise one another, and know their careers have lost all meaning and value were they to deliberately “throw the big game,” or foolishly become the cause for losing.  Only showing their own true excellence is genuine and real are sufficient to satisfy the demand of the inner desire and hunger to attain the highest levels for unforgettable victory.  2nd Corinthians 5:  20-21, King James Version (KJV):  20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:  we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

(2.)  On the cross, Jesus was to demonstrate the inadequacy of all mankind’s finite tools and responses intended to enable endurance and repel the overthrow by death of human awareness and self-will.  Apart from the sacred operations of divinity, there is no practice or preparation for completion of ones mortality.  Sin routinely operates through features of the flesh that include appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual cravings), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), and emotion/mind (e.g., anger, fear, imagination, intellect, instinct, recall).  Conscience, discernment, inhibitions, restraint, self-discipline and vigilance are vital aspects of full exercise for what men know as “the will to live.”  Jesus demonstrated that along with existence, the things pertaining to life from divinity also are sacred law, longsuffering, divine love, and eternal purpose.  1st John 4:  9-11, KJV:  9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

(3.)  Once he began his “full-time” prophetic ministry, the duty of Jesus Christ as the Son of Adam and the Son of GOD was to unselfishly minister to others in accordance with their needs, not his own.  This required accountability, alertness, constancy, and vigilance.  Throughout his time upon the cross, Jesus remained ready to receive a word from the Father; and did minister to John and his own mother.  Matthew 20:  27-28, KJV:  27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:  28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

There is far more to be said, understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Jesus was to establish access to divinity while serving upon the earth not having all the things of divine authority and GODhead.  Like others who appeared as prophets and spokespersons of GOD, he would receive and share sacred knowledge, yet, would have to endure growing and waiting for fulfillment as well as separation from GOD and man because of his character, nature, and works that included dying on the cross.  Philippians 2:  5-11, KJV:  5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:  10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.)  I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, some points are shared on divine judgment, recent atrocities committed by ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria), and the teachings of Jesus Christ.  Condemnation, outrage and punishment are uppermost on the minds of many.  However, the acts as well as the sins of those operating as terrorists are little different from those operating as soldiers.  The differences pertain to the acknowledgment of universal law.  Those in the armed forces must maintain a peculiar understanding of their own role, their own accountability as well as that for their military units and the nations they defend.  As was seen with drug cartels in Mexico that threatened to end lawful government to continue carrying out trafficking, ISIS threatens to destroy existing lawful governments not simply the police, the army, and law enforcement.  While their executioners hide beneath a mask, their faces are clearly seen before GOD.  A “Yahoo! THE GOLDEN ARROW:  There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.  And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?  I tell you, Nay:  but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.  Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?  I tell you, Nay:  but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.  He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.  Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none:  cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?  And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:  And if it bear fruit, well:  and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.  (Luke 13:  1-9, KJV)

“Man In Search of An”, here are a few points that permit mature Christian believers to maintain their inner peace in the face of such atrocities:

(1.)  Many thought leaders and men of faith around the world feel that the very deed of burning a man alive in a cage cries out for final judgment and absolute destruction of those who have carried it out.  Yet, the high crime against all living that, in fact, must come into view is presumption by a group of men who have exalted themselves as agents of GOD having authority to execute the wrath of divinity against sin.  Thereby, the Deity has been accused, blasphemed (i.e., his word rejected as false and unrighteous), denied, and misrepresented.

(2.)  Christians are instructed through the holy writings to understand that the course of human affairs will increasingly be shrouded in darkness resulting from operations of sin.  Sin has not been created by GOD, has no spirit content from the makeup of divinity, yet, sin has direction, effect, and presence.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and the divine order maintained by sacred law.  Sin may dominate human awareness and self-will to the point that sin appears a natural, normal aspect of oneself.  Sin can not be eliminated or removed using such finite tools as complaining, emotion, intellect, logic, mathematics, philosophy, and science.

(3.)  The prayer to GOD for intercession and justice is always a cry for judgment, for the Deity who revealed himself to Moses, and has appeared upon the earth incarnate as Jesus Christ, assigns meaning, purpose, and value (we say, is a god of Judgment).  Judgment is an immutable, permanent and unchanging aspect of divinity as are such sacred content as faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, jealousy, longsuffering, love, mercy, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  When Jesus was asked about two shocking tragedies that had recently occurred (the death of 18 persons from a tower falling in Siloam; and a slaughter by the Romans of Galileans as they were offering sacrifice and worshiping) the Savior did not condemn anyone.  He pointed out that those who die encountering human circumstances of injustice, misfortune, oppression, persecution and death are not automatically to be seen as greater sinners than others who escaped or got away.  Instead, the Lord cautioned them (as well as us today) that, through the operations of GOD to restore the balance destroyed by sin, there is a continuous and ongoing process of divine judgment; and:  Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of your faith.

Divine matter, omnipresence, and pantheism are topics, today, along with more on having a personal relationship with GOD.  The “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using the ID “Made From Embryonic Stem Cells”  (Level 3 with 1,207 points, a member since April 02, 2013) posted the following:

THE BATTLE AXE:  A Personal Relationship? (04/03/2014)—(5.)  For most of us, close (we say, intimate) relationship is rooted in patterns that are fixed and predetermined.  Thus, family, marriage, and military service as comrades-in-arms are experienced having boundaries, limits, and opportunities for exchange that are pre-set.  These close relationships emerge from, and are intended to maintain carefully described order and structure; and so are not the same as relations that begin and end as casual contact, crisis and emergency events, occasional communication, and unfocused interactions among persons.  GOD does not disregard and totally suspend divine authority to be in relationship.  Rather, authority is amplified and exhibited as assurance, benefit, nourishment, protection, and strength.  Strong relationships with GOD based upon divine proclamation, promise, and prophecy continue through daily and other uninterrupted contact over an extended period.  Believers continue in Christ—and maintain Christ within—by such activity as acknowledging divine law and sacred discipline, giving for spiritual works, parenting, prayer, study of the holy writings, practice of the sacraments, sharing personal testimony, unselfish service, and regular worship.  To the extent ones human purpose for relationship with GOD does not agree with divine intent and eternal purpose, a person may only exist as another sentient creature and material object within the fullness of Creation.  A shared relationship through Jesus Christ is one that is built up through change, growth, learning/application, and yielding.  (6.)  Personal relationship with GOD is not to be built up having a foundation of something we saw, so much as upon a framework of truth we have heard, continue to hold within our awareness, and act upon in every condition and situation.  Closeness and ongoing access to GOD is only through use of attitudes, behavior, carriage (we say, composure, posture) and language expressing spiritual accord, awareness of divine majesty, contrition, gratitude, humility, respect, and trust.  See Psalms 34:  12-22, Isaiah 43:  2, Matthew 18:  19-20, Hebrews 10:  22, John 15:  4-7 and 10, 1st Corinthians 3:  11, 2nd Corinthians 5:  7, Romans 10:  17, James 4:  8 and 2nd John 9, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten:  be zealous therefore, and repent.  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:  if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.  (Revelation 3:  18-22, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Needing Guns To Serve? (03/19/2014); A Culture of Judgment? (03/20/2014); GOD Inhabits Praise (01/27/2014); Face to Face Like Moses? (01/28/2014); Utterance is Spirit (09/08/2013); A Start for the Idea of GOD? (09/09/2013); The Bible and Genealogy (09/10/2013)

“Made From Embryonic Stem Cells”, here are a few points that have been useful to those who desire a relationship of love toward GOD as Christian believers:

(1.)  GOD is a spirit made up entirely of divine matter, who has put forth all created beings and living creatures as well as the platforms and spheres for their existence.

(2.)  Spirit matter is invisible, and does not absorb and reflect light as does physical matter made up of material particles.  We should not think of GOD as being like clouds, fog, mist, smoke, steam, or vapor.

(3.)  The substance of GOD may be thought of as inseparable divine matter such as faith, holiness, longsuffering, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Other aspects of divinity are being, duration, active presence, person, and sovereign will.

(4.)  GOD inhabits praise, and is incarnate (alive within blood and flesh) as “life essence” (we say, breath, spirit, word).  Death is not a living entity that has awareness and self-will.  Death is a peculiar condition and stage of living process that mechanically results in keeping with changes within the natural order.

As you can see by now, this is not the proper place for a full answer to your question.  There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  While divine matter resides in all created beings and living creatures (i.e., angels as well as men), sin may dominate their awareness and self-will.  Sin is not spirit matter, and opposes the continued existence of divine order, sacred law, and the complete universe of GOD.  The idea that GOD exists in all matter is called “pantheism”.  Christians reject that idea, for the measure of divinity in many things does not determine the character and nature they display.  Mortal beings have potential to exhibit an animal, human, or divine nature as well as various combinations of the three.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ, believers now receive a fresh endowment of divinity that eliminates human bitterness, confusion, criticism of GOD, and resentment you may have heard many express showing their animal and lower nature.  The Holy Spirit establishes gratitude and praise, and reinforces our recognition, rejection of, and resistance to sin.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of divine faith that resides in you.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there:  if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art thereIf I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.  (Psalms 139:  7-10, KJV)

Today, focus is upon the nature and process of divine law.  Also, there is more on genuine repentance.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Aaron Aaron Aaron” (Level 2 with 953 points, a member since April 06, 2013) posted the following:

thank you 🙂

THE BATTLE AXE:  Genuine Repentance? (03/24/2014)—(4.)  The repentance we speak of as Christian believers pertains to more than courtesy, good, manners, politeness, and social etiquette.  An apology is merely a verbal event wherein one expresses embarrassment, feelings of guilt, and sentiments of regret and remorse.  To repent must be more than an intellectual or mental act wherein one simply changes ones mind.  Repentance is a “return to GOD” by turning ones awareness, spirit content, and self-will away from sin.  Christian repentance is carried out through the Spirit of GOD, and is more than a one-time religious event such as church attendance.  The believer is given a “new heart.”  Repentance is triggered as an awareness that is called “godly sorrow”, and often is first called into view through confession.  Later, repentance is regularly displayed as a continuing pattern in the life of created beings and living creatures that derives from their fresh endowment of Spirit from GOD.  See 1st Samuel 7:  2-4, 2nd Chronicles 30:  8-9, Isaiah 55:  6-8, Jeremiah 24:  6-8, and Ezekiel 18:  20-32, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?  Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?  Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?  For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.  For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law:   but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.  Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?  And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?  For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:  But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.  (Romans 2:  21-29, KJV)

“Aaron Aaron Aaron” your excellent questions calls for an excellent answer.  For many Christian believers what you ask has to do with how to recognize practices, statements, and utterances that have the force of divine law.  One of the most important accomplishments through the ministry of Jesus Christ has been to clarify the function, process, eternal purpose, and sacred nature of law.  Because many believers are first introduced to divine law as the Ten Commandments (some say, the Decalogue), the idea continues to be mistakenly held that divine law is punitive; centers only on various prohibitions, punishments, and restrictions (thou shalt not); and was intended only for the Jews.  Because the law expresses and reveals divinity there absolutely must be law.

Through the holy writings, followers of Jesus understand there have been many covenant agreements (we say, lawful contracts)  established that further bind mankind to GOD.  Included are covenant agreements with Adam, Noah, the one we know as the “law of Moses,” the covenant of David, and the New Testament in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Christ has taught keeping the law requires more than ceremonies, social customs, rituals, and traditions.  The spirit substance of the law must be maintained in attitudes, behavior, conduct, and relationships.  Thus, only those “without sin” may cast the first stone as the agents of GOD and his sinless law.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, of GOD as the Law Giver and Judge, and of a Creation that continues only through the orderly process of law.

Where believers say that Christ has “fulfilled the law” by his death on the cross, some err thinking this means there are no more restrictions upon self-will.  Many are defiant and reject church attendance and other participation in communities of faith, because they must yield to discipline, policy, and standard procedures that appear no different than law.  Such must acquire discernment (ability to use their own endowment of spirit matter from the makeup of GOD to examine and recognize the spirit content in such things as events, objects, persons, and purposes).

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, the power of the law derives from its spirit, and not merely its letter.  Many confronted Jesus who practiced as lawyers and scribes, and regularly argued the specific words and precise application of the law (we say, technicalities).   It’s like our law regarding “drug free zones” around schools.  Most sellers and users are shocked to find there is no two-inch or two-feet exception; and that elementary, middle and high schools are not the only protected locations.  Nursery school, daycare, playgrounds, and after school program areas are also embraced.)  Where you truly want answers from GOD, there is far more on its way.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.  Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.  (Romans 7:  12-13, KJV)

Today, U.S. currency and features of the twenty-dollar bill are used to correct the mistaken notion that Christians are to disregard the Old Testament.  Also, there is more on atonement and forgiveness.  A writer at “Yahoo! Christians: Under the New Covenant you are obliged to disregard the OT. So why follow the 10 Commandments?

…….. when they are from the rejected OT.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Forgiveness Through GOD? (02/02/2014)—For many who have come to GOD through Jesus Christ, believing began with common sense ideas about what a genuine god would be capable of with a willingness to ask questions and learn more.  More than this, we all began with peculiar understandings of what a true god would do to (1) establish and maintain the many expressions of divinity that are displayed through all that exists, (2) make divine person known and respected, and (3) remove every thing that opposes the continued existence of divinity.  Through ministries upon the earth as well as from the place of divine presence (we say, heaven), Jesus Christ appears in distinct and godly being (we say, incarnation) that agrees with ones inner sense of order, reality, and truth while further clarifying divine operations, sanctified process, all previous sacred revelations, intimate relationship with GOD, and eternal purpose.  Believers all grow in knowledge and understanding by continuing in fellowship with one another, study of the holy writings, and practice of a lifestyle that amplifies and applies sacred truth.  See Romans 6:  16-23, Ephesians 2:  1-10 and 1st Peter 4:  9-11, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?  For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.  For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.  For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.  And it is yet far more evident:  for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,  Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.  (Hebrews 7:  11-16, KJV)

“Peter”, for many, the cross is foolishness, they do not understand why it was necessary or what it accomplished; yet for those who believe, it is the power of GOD unto salvation.  Here are a few points to consider regarding the impact of the cross for the Old and New Testaments:

(1.)  The face of a twenty dollar bill in U. S. currency shows the portrait of a former President (Andrew Jackson), while the obverse shows an image of the White House in Washington, DC.   Two different seals, two signatures, and serial numbers appear on only one side of the Federal Reserve Note.  While most users are able to recognize the value for the bill by looking at the numbers placed at the four corners, for users to receive full value for the bill they must surrender the whole note.  Similarly, to detect counterfeits of a true bill, users must examine and study the whole thing.

(2.)  Despite their differences the old and new covenants are aspects of a single truth, and to fulfill the plan of GOD, both must be embraced together.  Detection of various errors only become possible by correct knowledge of the “true note,” so to speak.  Believers must be prepared to encounter arrogance, false prophesies, hate, heresy, ignorance, lies, malice, pride, and unbelief.  Often, the attacks upon truth are disguised as friendship, fun (we say, humor or jokes), intellect, logic, reason, and false science.

(3.)  For created beings and living creatures to comprehend the cosmic impact of sin their awareness, and the process of their self-will must be transformed in phases and stages that maintain and reinforce the divine order.  Sin opposes the continued existence of GOD, of The Ten Commandments and all divinely given law as well as of all Creation.  Just as paper currency represents the authority and lawful order established by a nation for commerce, exchange and social interaction, so the revealed laws of GOD make divinity known and visible while fostering communication and exchange among those who are part of the Kingdom of GOD.

There is far more to be said, properly shared, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  The official value of currency is not altered by the private application and use of it; yet, we speak of “filthy lucre.”  We acknowledge that, while charitable giving may occur, misuse encouraging prostitution and purchase of illegal drugs also may appear.  Similarly, abusers of divine law, of the word of GOD and the many provisions for the faithful will arise.  Knowing this, believers put on the whole armor of GOD to disregard, reject, repel, and resist the things that derive from the enemy.  The things from GOD continue to be of value as holy, pure, righteous, and wise.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

THE BATTLE AXE:  (09/15/2013) Weed and Godly Wisdom—(4.)  In their confusion, many young people believe that they cannot experience adulthood, freedom and full maturity without alcohol and drugs.  Some even insist they can not and do not want to live without them. Yet, GOD has not gone about to poison created beings and living creatures.  Also, it is the mercy, reconciliation to mankind, and righteousness of GOD that no one is condemned for sin and sent to hell without thorough investigation, fair hearing, and trial.  While the law describes offenses as actions and deeds, the judgment of our behavior and conduct is not separate from the assessment of our private motives and unspoken purposes.  Most of us agree that two men may carry out the same behavior having very different intentions, and very different outcomes in mind.  Casual use of alcohol and drugs to enable fornication, sexual exploitation and prostitution are not the same as wellness and medicinal use where frequency, dosage and potency are carefully monitored.  The sacred dimensions for divine judgment focus upon being, substance and transformation (we say, change), such that, what one does also displays what one contains, and (in that sense) what one was, what one is, and what one may yet become once being sealed of GOD.  Every believer receives and should regularly display such inseparable sacred content as faith, holiness, longsuffering, love, righteousness, truthfulness, wisdom, wrath against sin, and zeal.  In final judgment that occurs following Satan being cast into the Lake of Fire, there is no devil or person who acts as an accuser.  A person only has to answer to the record of their own deeds that are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  (5.)  Where a person wants to repeatedly “blame” alcohol or a drug for causing their behavior, in fact, they worship and attribute power to a false god, and idol.  Rather than having experiences of ecstasy, joy, pleasures, and “getting high,” the priorities for Christian life are sacrificial and unselfish service to spread the Gospel.  Believers count themselves privileged to receive the duty (i.e., things that must be done despite any cost or loss, like it, don’t like) of proclaiming the Son of GOD, and ministering to others from their own anointing and endowment received through the priesthood of Jesus Christ.  Once baptized and reborn, a believer must learn, grow up, and mature again as one who follows the Lord.  There will be many challenges to continue or resume habits, practices and preferences that are not in agreement with the divine nature that has  been imparted from GOD.  Thus, all believers experience some doubts and uncertainty as “growing pains” in their journey to full understanding despite their having many shared experiences of fellowship with other believers, answered prayer, and insights through study of the holy writings.  (6.)  The issues of communication, performance, sobriety, and trust that surround use of alcohol and drugs make them controversial, dangerous and divisive to Christian communities.  Like athletics, clothes and fashion, consumerism and shopping, death and pain, diet and food, disease and sickness, alcohol and drugs continue exaggerated focus upon our flesh that may delay development and growth of ones Holy Spirit.  As such they are unnecessary, useless, and vain (i.e., empty; lacking spirit substance from GOD).  Many hold that the effects of such substances are through devils.  Unlike curative and medicinal herbs, drugs are understood to shock and alter ones metabolism and body process, where various herbs only foster natural functioning.   Given the threat of addiction, progressive and subtle (i.e., barely visible) development of dependency, recreational use of alcohol and drugs should be limited, with two or three uses of marijuana being ones maximum.  The bottom line for the believer addresses their effectiveness in spreading the Gospel as well as the fineness, readiness and sharpness of the believer’s ability to discern sacred truth.  See how the same spiritual laws and principles are involved as you consider again the attitudes and instruction shown the early church on the eating of foods that are shared as part of worship to idols (Romans 14:  1-23, 1st Corinthians 8:  1-13 and 1st Corinthians 10:  13-33 and Revelation 2:  18-29, KJV).

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.  I am that bread of life.  Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.  This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.  I am the living bread which came down from heaven:  if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.  The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.  Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.  He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.  As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father:  so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.  This is that bread which came down from heaven:  not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead:  he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.  These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.  Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?  When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?  What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:  the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.  (John 6:  47-63, KVJ)

“GodIsTheWay”,  here are a few points shared among many Christian believers that you may find helpful:

(1.)  From Creation, humanity was to develop a potential to commune with and display the nature of divine person.  Thus, the many aspects of full and right relationship for mankind that have been established by the operation of Almighty GOD include divine law, forbearance, forgiveness, glorification, justification, redemption, repentance, salvation and sanctification that are made available as awareness, inner change, growth, and spiritual endowment.  We say, by the grace (initiative, prerogative, will of GOD) created beings and living creatures are drawn and led into fellowship, new life, and service to the Creator.

(2.)  In seeking a correct and full experience of divine truth for mankind, a Christian believer responds to multiple levels of ministry from GOD through Jesus Christ.  Included are Incarnation, obedience, prayer, rebirth (from imparted, divine DNA, so to speak), death, resurrection, ascension into heaven, and presiding over final judgment.  Because human actions, behavior and conduct are visible displays generated from ones spirit content (not just emotion, imagination and intelligence), GOD has established through Christ that righteousness consists in more than simply blindly carrying out the sacred law as ceremony, custom, ritual and tradition.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (3.)  Where believing is an act of self-will, rather than an act of faith, believing is carnal, material, social, temporal, and after the flesh, rather than after the Spirit of GOD.  Ones spirit content is the basis for final determination of ones acceptance with GOD.  Such inseparable substance from the makeup of divinity must appear as faith, holiness, longsuffering, patience, truthfulness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  Love has spoken.

THE BATTLE AXE:  (09/14/2013) Only One GOD— (4.)  Using human processes for examining experience and information, mankind may describe and realize many ideas of “god.”  However,  any god so arrived at, and understood to exist is in the nature of a mental construct, a product of meanings and words directed to specific uses in discourse and formal language (we say, rhetoric).  In addition to aspects of their substance at Creation, the otherwise invisible GOD worshiped by Christian believers, uses various divine operations to become known and visible through life experience of created beings and living creatures.  Included are incarnation, healing, exorcism, judgment, rebirth, repentance, revelation, and sanctification.  As GOD employs promise, prophecy, sacred events, divine process, and eternal purpose, created beings and living creatures realize awareness of divinity as active and present.   The oneness of divine spirit may appear through many forms and operations that do not also display sameness.  Examples are abundance, dearth, gentleness, forbearance, forgiveness, longsuffering, patience, and strength.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.  And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.  For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.  Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.  And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.  And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.  And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him.  And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.  (1st John 3:  18-24, KJV)

Matt, here are a few points shared among many Christian believers who confess their personal truth of having enjoyed experiences with alcohol, hashish and marijuana:

(1.)  It is not wise to do anything you cannot openly share with other believers; that you would be ashamed to do before your parents, your spouse, the leadership of your church congregation; or that you would not want Jesus to find you doing at the time of his Advent.  Those who are addicted are damaged in their conscience, and in their self-will (we say, will power).  While the anguish and problems addicts address appear to be physical, psychological and social in nature, often it is merely that the self-destructiveness of sin (i.e., defiance of divine law with denial of existence to Divine Person and all the Creation of GOD) is operating in their lives.

(2.)  There are groups of believers who use alcohol and drugs as legitimate aspects of their worship.  However, in such cases, believers must strictly observe many disciplines, acknowledge accountability to civil laws and ordinances, and continue in conduct and behavior displaying modesty, circumspection, respect and restraint.  While alcohol and drugs cannot guarantee that a believer will have an experience of seeing GOD, or coming closer to the Holy, there is no reason to believe that alcohol and drugs have any power to stop the revelation of GOD, or to make it impossible for GOD to reveal himself to those of us upon the earth.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (3.)  GOD is a spirit.  For created beings and living creatures to know GOD, their awareness must be directed to things that are completely spirit in their operation, purpose and substance.  We say, mankind must be “born again;” and there must be a transformation of ones being whereby appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual craving), sense (e.g., hearing, seeing, smelling), mind (e.g., desire, fantasy, imagination, memory), and sin may no longer dominate self-will.  Where alcohol and drugs interfere with ones consciousness of GOD (i.e., they forget GOD), and a person’s ability to deal with the subtle (barely visible) differences and sameness among profane and sacred things, we know, a person may be overwhelmed in spiritual confusion.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
