Today, reply is on whether the Bible includes a requirement that Christians always be honest. The counsels from GOD to mankind often are to be applied according to specific conditions, yet, are not provided as wisdom to be obeyed occasionally, once in a while, and only sometimes. Sinners who return to GOD through Jesus Christ are to become increasingly Christ-like as they prepare for his coming to harvest the earth. Developing and mature believers all are to continually display and demonstrate the spirit content from divinity that they have received as sons and daughters of GOD, joint heirs with Jesus, and the new creation. It is written: Ephesians 5: 1-11, King James Version (KJV): 1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour. 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information shown) posted the following:

Does it say anywhere in the Bible that Christians are always to be honest?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. (Romans 13: 8-14, KJV)

Anonymous”, Christian believers are to be vessels containing inseparable aspects of spirit substance from the makeup of GOD whereby they will exist as sons and daughters of divinity, joint heirs with Christ, and the new creation. Those who become “born again” also must “grow up again” through discovery, fellowship, gradual growth, learning, practice, service, study and suffering. Here are some points that use language from the Bible that many Christians acknowledge along with a selection from the music ministry of Bob Carlisle:

(1.) Leviticus 19: 11-12, King James Version (KJV): 11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. 12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

(2.) Mark 10: 17-21, KJV: 17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

(3.) Colossians 3: 5-17, KJV: 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Today, points are shared on “goodness” as an aspect of life essence (i.e., breath; spirit; word) imparted from the makeup and substance that are divine fullness. Mankind may contain and display divine spirit essence, yet, can not create or impart what exists as holy, ineffable, and invisible. The fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Pat C.” (Level 7 with 50,370 points, a member since December 10, 2011) posted the following:

Why do you need a god to be good?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. (3rd John 1: 11, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Watching The Science Channel? (10/17/2018); Bible Definitions Of Sin (10/01/2018); Only GOD Is Good? (05/03/2017); Abstractions, Atheism and I.Q. (12/10/2014)

Pat C.”, here are some points that may not have been shared with you until now. In line with the understanding that divinity is the fullness or sum of all divine substance (e.g., faith, holiness, longsuffering, righteousness, wisdom, wrath against sin), mature Christian believers turn away from the discussion of “goodness” and “the Good” provided through Plato and the many Greek thinkers who deal with “goodness” as an abstraction, a property, or a product of social interaction. The inseparable aspects of divine makeup include immortality, immutability, incorruptibility, oneness without sameness, personhood, purpose, and sovereign will. GOD is acknowledged as the origin of all that exists, and of all that has life. Just as divinity has determined the duration and substance of all things as an expression of divine prerogative, divinity also completes an assignment of meaning, value and worth to all (we say, there is divine judgment distinct from ongoing sacred process to resolve conflicts and settle disputes through the application of divine law). The operations of sin that oppose the continued existence of sacred law, the Lawgiver, and divine order throughout the universe, have not been put forth as a spirit or substance created by GOD. Thus, sin does not have the completeness, integrity and soundness that describes material objects that exist; yet, sin has direction, effect, and presence. Sin may dominate consciousness and self-will within created beings and living creatures. Artifacts associated with sin include disobedience, iniquity, perverseness, rebellion, spiritual confusion, and wickedness. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. Psalms 49: 6-8, King James Version (KJV): 6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; 7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: 8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) 9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

2. Job 26: 2-4, KJV: 2 How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength? 3 How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is? 4 To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

3. Matthew 19: 16-22, KJV: 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 4. 1st John 3: 9-11, KJV: 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, the reply provides a few straightforward definitions of “sin”. The fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” Religion and Spirituality forum who uses the ID “sun.deep0861” (Level 1 with 10 points, a member since February 29, 2012) posted the following:

What is sin, fundamentally and basically?

Why bible is based on sin

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. (Romans 6: 12-17, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Believers Must Receive Gifts (09/30/2018); Baptism, Rebirth, and Resurrection (09/18/2018); Natural Law, Enmity, Sin (05/25/2018); Standards For Godly Behavior (02/01/2018); Sin No “One-time” Event (01/03/2018); The Wages of Disobedience (08/04/2017); The Operations of Sin (07/25/2017); Christian Beliefs About Sin (07/20/2017)

sun.deep0861”, sin is not basic or simple. In the same way, no one can find out all the things about yourself that you count as important for them to know without you telling them yourself, Christian believers are trusting that GOD is using the holy writings to make divinity knowable, known, accessible, and approachable (we say, the Creator is providing a revelation of himself) because no one else can. The Bible records the appearance of divine fullness (we say, the Godhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) using thousands of events, within thousands of human lives over the course of thousands of years. In addition to existence and life, divinity puts forth divine order throughout the universe, and these are maintained using divine law, standards, and values.

Sin is contrary to the character, makeup and process of divinity, and of all that live. The operations of sin oppose the continued existence of divine law, the Lawgiver, and the Creation that relies on sacred law. For the living (i.e., angels and mankind) sin is an enigma or mystery that can not be completely apprehended: Sin is no simple material thing that has been created by GOD, or by those he has created in heaven and on earth. Sin can not be eliminated by any ordinary act of destruction, brute force, reversal, or violence. Sin has no spirit content from GOD, yet, may dominate consciousness and self-will in created beings and living creatures. Sin promotes nonexistence, the dissolution of all things (including itself), and the return to conditions that were in place before the founding of heaven and earth (we say, chaos; confusion; and the diffusion, movement, and streaming of elements that no longer appear in existence that were unbounded by frameworks of time or space).

Important definitions of “sin” for mature Christians include the following that use language from the Bible:

(1.) 1st John 3: 4, King James Version (KJV): 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

(2.) James 4: 17, KJV: 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

(3.) Romans 14: 23, KJV: 23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

(4.) John 8: 31-36, KJV: 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5.) Galatians 5: 19-23, KJV: 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Coming to Christ as a Living Sacrifice

Today, reply is to the idea that created beings and living creatures must respond to life challenges, disappointments, frustration, and suffering without always being given payment or rewards from GOD.   Regular practice of giving, offering, and sacrifice (i.e., enduring cost, discomfort, and loss to acknowledge divinity; giving up something valued) further establishes the bond and permanent relationship with a sovereign GOD who has practiced Incarnation, sacrifice, and resurrection for the recovery of Creation from sin.  While eternal life and salvation cannot be gained, paid for, or won on the basis of human effort, obedience to sacred law, will power in the created and their finite works, the living do receive place as companions to immortal, incorruptible divinity through divine prerogative, eternal purpose, and sovereign will.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ men may be commended for balance, commitment, faithfulness, perseverance, sobriety, and stability.  Ownership of the earth, every other sphere of life, and all the fullness of the known universe belong to GOD.  The living are to display the inseparable aspects of spirit content from the makeup of GOD.  In accord with the Creator, it is our acknowledgment, and presentation of active presence and divine substance that determines our benefits, duration, existence, outcomes of judgment, privilege, quality, and value to GOD.  Accountability and duty make it that our lives often center more on demands and things that must be done (like it, don’t like it), rather than works within our comfort zone, our personal preferences, and our favorite things.  Divinity is no less faithful, holy, righteous, and true.  A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Road Trip” (Level 3 with 1,156 points, a member since May 12, 2006) posted the following in the Religion and Spirituality forum:

If few people get into heaven, then why should anyone try? Especially if it is so difficult.?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.  (Luke 12:  32, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Self-will And Christian Integrity (06/11/2018); Blessed In Our Deeds (05/29/2018); What Divine Salvation Requires (05/15/2018); The Nature of Death (04/25/2017); The Need for Incarnation? (09/29/2016); The Cross a Human Sacrifice? (04/18/2016); The Benefit of Grace (03/19/2013); Magical Resurrection? (03/20/2013)

“Road Trip”, even though we must face challenges, obstacles, and reversals, mankind is not to despair.  To ensure that this Creation has every possibility of continuing as immortal and incorruptible, eternal divinity has even appeared on the earth using the form of flesh and blood (we say, Incarnation).  While it is true that the Creator is also a God of judgment whose inseparable spirit substance and makeup includes wrath against sin, with him there is also forbearance, forgiveness, longsufferering, lovingkindness, mercy, personhood, restraint, righteousness, and wisdom.

The transgression (violation) of divine law committed by the first pair resulted in mortality (dying and death) becoming a permanent condition for mankind on the earth.  Even so, annihilation and the second death (utter destruction) is held back through the multiple divine operations that provide adoption as the sons and daughters of GOD, discovery, gradual growth, inheritance, obedience, “oneness without sameness,” rebirth, repentance, sacrifice, sanctification, and unselfish service.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Romans 12:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And be not conformed to this world:  but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

(2.)  Micah 6:  7-9, KJV:  7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?  8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?  9 The LORD’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name:  hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

(3.) Ezekiel 18:  4, KJV:  4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine:  the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

(4.)  Ezekiel 18:  20-23, KJV:  20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son:  the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.  21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.  22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him:  in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.  23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD:  and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

(5.)  2nd Peter 1:  2-4, KJV:  2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:  that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (6.)  Romans 15:  4, KJV:  4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

OVTreeKnowledge

Photo by Dave Smith:  “The Tree of Knowledge” sculpture in bronze at the Oro Valley Public Library (Oro Valley, Arizona), February 4, 2010, 6:08 AM

Today, reply is on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that was planted along with the tree of life within the Garden of Eden as a divine device for judgment like childbearing, not one for imparting sacred guidance, instruction, and wisdom.  Divinity began to admire and examine the inner content of mankind as a major aspect of the fullness and process of Creation.  To the extent the male received more direct fellowship with GOD than the female, his endowments of divine substance from the makeup of GOD (e.g., faith; longsuffering; restraint; oneness without sameness; wisdom; wrath against sin) equipped the male to escape deception, and it was not his greater supply of knowledge, intelligence, or carnal reason.   Exchanges and expressions not seen by Deity before their disobedience would become visible in the pair that included ambivalence, covetousness, embarrassment, fear, forgetting, recall, repentance, and evil surmising (suspicion).  A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” Religion and Spirituality forum who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile is shared) posted the following:

What was God’s point to “the tree of knowledge of good and evil” if not to deliberately introduce evil into the world?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.  In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;  But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.  Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.  But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.  For Adam was first formed, then Eve.  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.  Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.  (1st Timothy 2:  8-15, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  With A Divine Eye (05/02/2018); Childbearing Pertains to Judgment? (02/23/2018); Neither “All-knowing” Nor “Omniscient” (11/07/2017); GOD Knowing the Price? “Anonymous”, many want to complain that GOD himself is the origin and source of disobedience to divine law, sin, and wickedness.  They may not have thought about it before that the genuine sacred processes of GOD include imposing divine order throughout the universe; commanding divine law and sacred proclamations; creation; communicating with created beings and living creatures; acknowledging, assigning, displaying, and making permanent (we say, judgment to determine) the attributes, duration, divine substance, quality, and value of Creation; fulfillment of divine promise, prophecy, and eternal purpose; revelation of divine fullness (we say, the GODhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit; the Trinity); salvation; and the second death.

Heaven and earth are both divine creations, while “the world” is the creation of mankind.  In the present day as at the beginning, divinity continues to use finite and temporal devices and tools to call forth displays of the inborn spirit within the living as well as their fresh endowments of spirit content imparted from the makeup of GOD through rebirth.  Otherwise hidden and invisible aspects of personhood appear as responses of the living to carnal, material, organic, and social elements, objects, and settings.

The error of the first pair (Adam) went far beyond their own level of comprehension.  The two enjoyed daily and personal  contact with GOD whereby they would receive an abundance of sacred knowledge to exist as companions to immortal, incorruptible Deity.  By relying on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil as an immediately available source for complete knowledge to dwell on the earth, Adam unintentionally altered the character, nature, and operation of human consciousness.  Once the pair disobeyed by embracing earthy, secular knowledge they could no longer properly discern (i.e., recognize and respond to) the multiple, inseparable aspects of divinity as an active presence (we also say, breath; life essence; spirit; word), or maintain divinity as the primary focus of their feelings and thoughts.  Their separation from GOD to establish the integrity of their being became amplified at the level of their self-will.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, many now regard “the tree of the knowledge” as the tree of death.  They acknowledge the profound distinction of that tree from the tree of life whose fruit includes love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance:  the fruit of the Spirit.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Proverbs-10.9-reverence-respect.jpg

Today, reply is on respect and reverence for divinity as the correct expression of godly knowledge and wisdom that were to be shown by Adam and Eve.  Following their disobedience, human potential to display a human and divine nature also increasingly began to appear expressing an animal nature.  The value for mankind of knowledge and wisdom was to increase through communication, exchange and interaction in continuous relationship with the Creator; and both the flesh and spirit were to be edified.  Asking, humility, and need would promote displaying the divine image, sharing, and oneness without sameness.  The first pair were to utilize frameworks of time and space to acknowledge divine fullness while acquiring diverse and new information in agreement with the manifestation of divine prerogative, eternal purpose, and the sovereign will of GOD.  Human history has shown that the mistaken emphasis on knowing “good” and “evil” carried mankind away from the eternal purpose of GOD, that Adam would be a close companion to immortal, incorruptible divinity.  A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” Spirituality and Religion forum using the ID “” (Level 5 with 8,487 points, a member since June 16, 2013) posted the following:

Wouldn’t it be calling God evil to say that Adam and Eve had no knowledge of Good and Evil?

Remember when they covered themselves? (Gen. 3:7) Wouldn’t you be saying God was evil if you claim they knew good and bad only after they ate from the tree. Because they covered themselves only after they ate, did they not? They saw this evil thing after they ate, right? God had them walk around naked. What happened?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?  Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?  (Matthew 7:  7-11, King James Version, KJV)

“”, here are some thoughts to consider:  where “good” and “evil” are known by mankind through comparison and contrast of earthly things, the divine consciousness defines them both with an eye to chaos, flux, pre-existence, the present, the future, and eternity as well as to the humanly inconceivable.  Unlike the process for holy angels whereby they received full knowledge from their beginnings, the operations of GOD for mankind have included the imparting of knowledge and wisdom to humans through discovery, gradual growth, learning, reflection, and revelation.  It is no offense to GOD that men have curiosity (like that shown by Moses that resulted in his approaching the burning bush), or that the living lack and seek greater knowledge and wisdom.  However, there are many responses the living may make that are in the nature of sin such as arrogance, defiance, impatience, exaggerated pride, presumption, rebelliousness, and stubbornness.

When sinners turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness, rebirth, and life as his new creation, most start out having multiple concerns, doubts, questions, and uncertainties.  All who become “born again” must also “grow up again” by facing life challenges, sacred duties, “growing pains,” hardships, and suffering.  As new offspring and vessels containing spirit content from the makeup of GOD (we say, the children of GOD; sons and daughters of GOD; joint heirs with Jesus Christ), developing believers are to become mature/ripe for harvest by the Lord at his second coming (we also say, his appearing; the Advent; the Rapture).

Integrity of being was established by GOD for mankind by providing the pair, Adam, with independence, self-government under GOD, self-will (we also say, willpower), and separation.  Even so, since the time of Adam, finite consciousness and self-will in created beings and living creatures may be dominated by the operations of sin that oppose the continued existence of sacred law, the Lawgiver, and divine order appearing as the universe.  Sin is an influence that has not been created by either divinity or mankind; and sin is no material or ordinary substance that can be destroyed, eliminated, or isolated from the living.  Adam underwent a profound transformation wherein the fullness and purity of their divine spirit content shifted and was altered through multiple, simultaneous actions that resulted in reconfiguration for aspects of their internal order (e.g., expectation, desire, intellect, potential, recall, recognition).

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, it is written:  James 1:  5-6, King James Version (KJV):  5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, the human predicament and mankind’s standards for determining “good” are in view.  Through the disbelief, disobedience and distrust expressed by Adam and Eve, the makeup and spirit content of mankind as a species has been condemned as unfit to exist as a life companion of eternal divinity:  All have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD.  Rather than through human accomplishments, merit, obedience and self-will, the living must be accounted as “blameless” or having a portion within the divine household on the basis of atonement, propitiation for sin, and the sacred works accomplished on behalf of mankind by Jesus Christ.  One of the fighters at “Yahoo! What does it mean to be a good man?

One deserving of love and a family and God

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:  Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver:  in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;  (2nd Corinthians 1:  9-10, King James Version (KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Extravagance of Love? (04/02/2017); The Quality of Life? (03/29/2017); GOD Within Christian Believers (07/31/2016); Was David a “Good” Man? (01/13/2015); Being Good, Enough? (01/06/2015); Life Choices (12/14/2013); That Mortal Children Die? (12/15/2013)

“Anonymous”, human ideas of “good” center on things carnal, material and social.  When Jesus Christ was approached by someone who addressed him as “good”, the Savior corrected him by saying, there is none good but GOD.  Jesus immediately shared his own understanding that the present condition of mankind and all Creation is one of being fallen in sin, being condemned to death and elimination because of sin, and being totally dependent upon grace, intercession, and divine prerogative that may provide divine forgiveness and mercy in judgment.  The goodness of GOD surpasses the finite standards of men, and therefore is spoken of in many ways.  Included are adoption, blessing, free gifts, divine inheritance, covenant relationship, rebirth, redemption, salvation, and eternal life.

The lives of mortal men will be interrupted by “sleep” (we say, death), and apart from GOD, all that man seeks to accomplish and attain applying human awareness and self-will does not last, and is temporal (i.e., exists only for a brief time).  Even for those “born again”, who experience death, burial, and resurrection of their inborn spirit, order, stability and success must come through struggle, “growing up again,” and the endurance of suffering.

While living on the earth, believers are to strive for their own highest goals, and the complete fulfillment of their personal potential, however, as offspring and heirs of divinity, the followers of the Lord are to display the active presence of Deity through the imparted, indwelling Spirit as an aspect of their lifestyle and living routines.  Believers are to hold to eternal purposes and cooperate with the ongoing operations of GOD among the living.  They are to prepare themselves to be gathered to Christ at his coming (we say, Advent, the Rapture, the Second Coming) when he will harvest those who belong to him that are “ripe” (mature).  Consider again the Scriptures:

(1.)  Psalms 14:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.  2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.  3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy:  there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

(2.)  Matthew 19:  16-21, KJV:  16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, King David of Israel is described as a figure in Scripture who provides multiple examples of ongoing divine processes for the salvation of mankind.  Instead of labeling David as “good”, it is probably more correct to speak of David as “Joe Average” and an “everymanordinary person” like Job, who depicts intimate relationship with GOD as “chosen”,  “forgiven”, “just” (we say, justified by GOD) and “redeemed”.  The writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using “Charlie” as their ID (Level 1 with 2 points, a member since September 06, 2013) posted the following:

What did David do in the Bible?

The song “Carry my soul” by Phil Wickham sings “chasing my heart like David did” What did David do to show us he was chasing God’s heart? What were his qualities – was he a good man of God?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.  The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.  And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.  And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.  And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.  And afterward they desired a king:  and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.  And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.  Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:  (Acts 13:  16-23, KJV)

“Charlie”, Christians are taught to understand that only GOD is “good”.  Even so, here are a few points to consider that are important for correct knowledge of the Bible record that shows how GOD is revealing divinity to mankind:

(1.)  David was a divine instrument used by GOD to demonstrate the process and workings of divinity such as  anointing, forbearance, forgiveness, incarnation, judgment, praise, promise, repentance, and sanctification.  David established practices and standards that determined the course of both sacred and secular history for Israel.

(2.)  David was used in roles as a brother; a son; a caretaker of livestock (we say, herder, pastor, shepherd); a composer of hymns, liturgy, psalms and sacred music; a covenant partner; an heir of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; a champion, a giant-slayer, a hero, and a leader of battles; a therapist; an adopted son of a king; a husband and son-in-law; a friend; a companion to a prince; a fugitive; a marauder; a king and founder of a royal dynasty; a judge; a parent; a patriarch; an adulterer; a murderer; a mourner; an High Priest who established the course for service by the Levites within the Tabernacle; the one who provided the initial materials and plans for the Temple; a prophet and divine spokesperson; a sinner; an ancestor of Jesus Christ; and the father who reigned as king at the same time his son (Solomon) reigned as king.  The life of David was to depict the operations of faith in youth, adulthood, and even old age.

(3.)  Unlike Adam and Eve who abandoned GOD when tempted and disgraced through the operations of sin, David repeatedly returns to GOD through praise, prayer and submission.  David brings into view aspects of salvation that include atonement, divine grace, joy, the attainment of perfection by continuing growth, rebirth, and permanent change.

(4.)  David suffers in spite of his fame, his military genius, his physical prowess as a warrior, his skill as a monarch and political figure, his wealth.  David would endure conflict, conspiracy, betrayal, disrespect, and civil war, the loss of his favorite son, in  addition to the death of an infant.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  While Saul was king of Israel, the Ark of the Testimony that served as the judgment seat and throne of GOD among the Israelites was captured by an enemy nation, and separated from the Tent of Meeting (we say, the Tabernacle).  The priesthood became cursed, and the use of objects from the regalia of the High Priest (ephod, Urim and Thummim) became awkward.  When David wanted counsel from GOD, he often relied upon seers who served as personal advisors.  Having built a palace for himself, David also burned with a desire to restore the Ark to Israel so it would be nearby, and would be maintained within an enduring house of GOD, and lasting place for his Holy Name.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Focus, today, is upon definition, judgment, sacred logic, and the concept of “good” in various belief systems.  A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using the ID “Joe” (Level 1 with 3 points, a member since October 14, 2014) posted the following:

Why isnt being good enough for heaven?

All religions teach you to be good. Yet also always have a second requirement: believe in a religion. Islams requires you to be goood and believe in Allah and Muhammad. Christians believe you need to be good and belive in Jesus. But according to Christians and Muslims, if you are a fantastic person, but you dont believe, nothing is saving you. What kind of dumb logic is this?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment (Malachi 2:  17 , KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Lower-case or Capital? (01/31/2014); Sprinkled, Immersed, Named? (02/01/2014); Evil Is Not Sin and Wickedness? (12/09/2014); Divine Goodness? (12/10/2014); Life Choices (12/14/2013); That Mortal Children Die? (12/15/2013); And This Was Good News (12/01/2012); A Need to Fear? (12/02/2012)

“Joe”, here are a few points to consider that are in line with sacred logic among Christians, rather than finite carnal logic:

(1.)  Just as in your presentation above, the meaning for “good” is often assumed to be “understood”, is left unstated, and is left undefined.  The major belief systems established to provide clarity, focus and moral guidance for human thought and action all supply a broad statement for understanding the concept of “good” that is exact and specific within its own boundaries, and closed limits.  Thus, it may be said that “good” is no single thing that exists; and, only GOD is good.

(2.)  Without an agreed upon and shared meaning, “good” must remain an idea that is diffuse, unstable, and unfocused.  Meaning will vary from person to person, culture to culture, event to event.  As a construct for human communication “good” suggests a dimension (we say, measurable feature of form) or quality that may be applied as a standard.  Thus, we often speak of material and social elements as expressing and demonstrating “good” attitudes, good behavior, good conduct, flavor, size, and taste.

There is far more to be considered, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Because Christian believers acknowledge GOD as the source of all good, every other standard for describing and maintaining existence also must be in agreement and harmony as aspects of a single truth.  The “logic” here is plain:  Good or bad, compared to what?  Value is assigned to created beings and living creatures (we say, judgment) on the basis of their content of divine substance, and their effect as expressions of eternal purpose, not so much their peculiar actions and deeds.  Given many names (e.g., breath, light, love, spirit, word), the living will be established as companions to divinity because they continue to contain divine substance that establishes and maintains intimate and personal relationship (we say, believers become born again as offspring of GOD.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Healing, divine intent, prayer and fellowship with GOD are topics, today.  Also, there is more on racism that appears through church attendance.  A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using ID “A B” (Level 5 with 9,106 points, a member since May 03, 2012) posted the following:

Religion and spirituality, why would God need prayers to decide to heal or do good?

If I see a child dying of ebola and it lies in my power to instantly cure it, I will unhesitatingly do it, without need to be prompted by someone else. But why does God need to be asked to do good and end suffering? Why prayer?

THE BATTLE AXE:  One Faith, One Lord? (09/26/2014)—(5.)  Most Christian believers abandon racist thinking when they see it cancels, interferes with, and directly opposes multiple doctrines and teachings from GOD.  For example, Christians are to embrace accountability, duty, and shared responsibility as custodians and spokespersons for Christ through the same imparted Spirit of power and wisdom from the time of Adam that was deposited in believers of the early church at Pentecost.  Inseparable aspects of divinity identify all those belonging to the kingdom of GOD.  Included are faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, humility, innocence, joy, longsuffering, lovingkindness, wrath against sin, and zeal.  Often racist behavior within the church is no less than defiance, envy, fear of exposure of ones weaknesses, lack of respect that results from issues of self-esteem, rebellion, rejection of divine law, and denial that divine authority may be exercised through or invested within others.

(6.)  Through Jesus Christ many accept an identity and inheritance as spiritual Jews.  It is a common error that Catholicism and Judaism are only for whites, just as many believe that Islam is only for people of color, and for blacks.  Because of bias, ignorance and prejudice many are unaware of African bishops, nuns, cardinals and congregations among Catholics as well as Spain and Portugal-based (Hispanic or Sephardic) Jews, Chinese, and Ethiopian Jews.  There also are records of the Marranos and black Moorish Jews (Maghrib, Sudan and Iberian Pennisula).  The Black Hebrew Israelites and similar organizations promoting Black Judaism have existed mainly in the United States among African Americans as early as 1886.  Since 1969, Black Hebrews have migrated to Israel, however, they did not attain legal status until 1990.  To many of us, this is curious and a sign of racism, for historically, Gentile converts and proselytes have appeared among the Jews from the time that Moses as a prophet to the Hebrews left Egypt followed by a “mixed multitude” who also entered into covenant with the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.    In many cases, the “high visibility” absence of ethnic and racial diversity within neighborhood churches and assemblies have been the result of separation and survival mechanisms required for those experiencing migration from the rural South to cities, and immigration to America from Europe.  Often, the effect of culture shock, disappointments and limitations for housing, income, and job opportunities have amplified distrust, fear, and the sense that cultural heritage is threatened with destruction.  As concern for maintaining the original customs, practices and traditions within communities becomes heightened, there are repeated efforts to restate and preserve fundamental principles, and to refresh (we say, revive) the elements of worship.  In addition to government policies of discrimination and segregation, there have been unseen patterns for inclusion within communities that have a controlling influence upon church attendance along with the social and spiritual growth of believers.  Included have been continuing to support extended families, problems from using dialects and language acquisition, maintaining small businesses and property ownership as well as the peculiar challenges to youth and to the aged.  Consider again Galatians 3:  27-29, Psalm 75:  5-7, Luke 13:  28-30, Colossians 3:  1-17 and Revelation 7:  9-10, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.  Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:  And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.  Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain:  and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.  And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.  (James 5:  13-18, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  What GOD Demands (05/10/2014); The Body of Moses (05/11/2014); “Prayer Death”? (02/21/2014); The 2nd Prayer Death (02/22/2014); Why Christians Pray for Others (01/12/2014); GOD is Jesus? (01/13/2014); Naaman the Leper (12/21/2012); Did Jesus Know? (12/22/2012); When Prayer Works (10/11/2012);  Double Standard? (10/12/2012)

“A B”, here are a few points to consider that are useful to the followers of Jesus Christ:

(1.)  Start with this:  GOD does not know you in an intimate sense, just as you do not know GOD until a peculiar level of communication and shared experience are in effect.  Without change, cleansing, growth, you are another material object among millions, who lack godly quality, or divine substance that would fit you to be an eternal companion to the Most High.

(2.)  By the grace and divine prerogative demonstrated through Jesus Christ, you are being “called” and welcomed into new aspects of reality (they have been there all the time) where permanent changes are being made to your spirit content, how you function, and your ways of operating.  On the basis of intercessions by Christ as well as divine intent and eternal purposes, spiritual gifts and benefits are being provided to you from GOD.

(3.)  In part, GOD maintains distance and separation from created beings and living creatures in order to limit distractions and interruption of sacred operations, and to establish clear and inarguable authority.  Also, the infirmity of the living requires distance from the awesome presence of GOD.  In the same way divine law is provided to identify sin, and reveal the righteousness of GOD, law (we may say, rules, divine order, discipline) is a form of protection that is essential to right relationship.

Of course, there is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Life experience for mankind has been established by GOD as a “mechanical process” having fixed cycles, patterns and sequences.  However, disease and illness regularly appear through operations of finite human will, and as a consequence of men rejecting the divine frameworks, willfully violating the laws for health.  As surely as many deny the social order, men then seek to reverse the natural order.  The transformation of mankind to live as immortal and incorruptible requires multiple sacred processes.  Included are birth, death, atonement, forgiveness, resurrection, sacrifice, and sanctification.  While evil (calamity, catastrophe, upheaval) is a divine tool to reveal the active presence of GOD, many refuse to come to GOD for healing because they know they will have to fulfill their duty to GOD as their Creator.  Healing comes by relationship, not cures, elixirs, and medicines.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
