Today, reply describes the sacred operations of GOD as being empty and void of such fleshly and temporal elements such as alchemy and pseudo-science; devotion to the occult; idolatry; imagination; magic, sorcery, and witchcraft as well as superstition.  As lawful and necessary elements for the revelation of divine fullness (we say, the GODhead; the Trinity; The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit), expressions of sacred prerogative and sovereign will, divinity also may  provide and share sacred events (we say, miracles), marvels, eternal purpose, signs (i.e., spirit-filled events to authenticate the divine origin for promises, prophecy, etc.), and wonders.  One of the fighters at “Yahoo! “Anonymous”, the operations of divinity are not directed to fantasy, magic, and the granting of wishes.  Even so, the processes of divine fullness (we say, the GODhead; the Trinity; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) do respond to sacred communication (e.g., confession, prayer, repentance), exchange, and ongoing relationships with created beings and living creatures in terms of addressing their needs and survival (e.g., food; shelter; water; meaningful work, activity, and rest); affirming promise; fulfilling prophecy; performing sacred events (we say, miracles), providing requested signs, and discharging the sanctions (rewards and punishments) declared as aspects of divine law.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Exodus 33:  16-23, King James Version (KJV):  16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.  17 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken:  for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.  18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.  19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.  20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face:  for there shall no man see me, and live.  21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:  22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:  23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

Today, reply is on recognizing that answers to prayer often are demonstrations of spirit presence in place of carnal process, material objects, and social events.  Just as GOD is worthy of praise, respect and  worship when he grants mankind benefits, blessings and privileges, GOD is no less GOD when the living encounter disappointments, hardship, and suffering.  He continues to be worthy of awe, obedience, and reverence.  The living neither know all, nor understand all that must be done to continue existence in spite of corruption, death, and mortality.  To be in a stable, lasting relationship with GOD that does not break down or change according to every challenge, circumstance, problem or trouble that comes along, sinners must be “born again”, and become filled with spirit substance imparted from the fullness of divinity (we say, the GODhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit).  A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum using the ID “Sharon” (Level 3 with 2,082 points, a member since August 30, 2016) posted the following:

Apparently I’m a bad communicator so I’ll try again. My cousin who was a Christian sincerely believed & prayed for healing but died?

My cousin, his wife, 3 small boys, along with thousands of other Christians fully believed their god would restore his health, even as he was lying on his death bed.

Matt 21:22 says “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith”.

My question is, Why did the god who promised the above not give my cousin, a believer, the healing he asked for?

“Sharon”, until a person begins to operate consistently relying on spirit substance imparted from the makeup of GOD, they may only be disbelievers, skeptics, and at best “developing believers” whose makeup as Christians is not yet complete and mature.  Not only will it be difficult for those not “born again” to correctly understand the divine process of communication, exchange and interaction they see others experiencing and displaying within their lifestyle and daily routine, it will be difficult for those who have not answered rebirth to properly discern the active presence and process of GOD within their own ongoing lifestyle and daily routine.  A sinner’s inborn spirit must die, be buried, and become raised from the dead, so to speak; and the sinner becomes a new creation through Jesus Christ by receiving a fresh endowment of the same life essence (breath, spirit, Word) that was in the Lord during his ministry on earth. 

While the process of GOD for the salvation of mankind may also include carnal, social, and sacred events (we say, miracles), believers are to realize the appearance and workings of divine spirit by examining and acknowledging divine spirit content.  Streams of inseparable spirit content from the makeup of divinity should appear within attitudes, events, oneself, other persons, prophetic demonstrations, spoken words, etc.  Included are faith, holiness, humility, longsuffering, lovingkindness, righteousness, trust, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

The divinity, glory, and majesty of GOD are immutable and unchanging.  While sacred authority, power, and sovereignty ensure that many of the needs of created beings and living creatures that pertain to their continued existence will be continually met, the integrity of GOD does not depend on whether or not angels or mankind always get what they ask for, or get to have their own way.  Increasingly, mature believers agree that where we are not physically healed during our lives on the earth, we are no less correct to expect full healing at the time of resurrection and the return of Jesus to harvest the earth (we say, the Advent, the Rapture, the Second Coming).  There are multiple divine demonstrations where overcoming pain and suffering is to be seen in their endurance, their failure to destroy or weaken  faith, and their inability to cut off sacred hope, rather than the fact that discomfort, affliction, and hardship have been ended.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Daniel 3:  16-20, KJV:  16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.  17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.  18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.  19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.  20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

(2.)  Job 1:  18-22, KJV:  18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:  19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.  20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,  21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither:  the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.  22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

(3.)  Job 2:  7-10, KJV:  7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.  8 And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.  9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.  10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

(4.)  2nd Corinthians 4:  17-18, KJV:  17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;  18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen:  for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Today, points are shared to clarify differences among public confession, personal testimony, and proper devotion to GOD.  In the same way confession to GOD during prayer that should be private and personal does not replace repentance, public confession of wrongdoing does not supply the same benefit as testimony to reveal the work of Christ in ones life.  Reverend William Aitcheson, a Catholic priest in nearby Arlington, Virginia, who has been serving in the church for many decades, published an article in one of the diocese newspapers apologizing that he once was a leader within the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).  Many all across America have been enraged and incensed by recent events that have called forth expressions of bigotry, hate, prejudice, racism, and violence, and that resulted in a young woman’s death (Heather Heyer, Charlottesville, VA).  Others have been cast down, made to feel shame, and are suffering great humiliation.  Prominent among the institutions and organizations involved have been the KKK, Neo-Nazis, and White Supremacist groups that exist in the United States under lawful provisions for “free speech.”  Those who repent, and turn to Christ to become his new creation may only demand and expect to see change in their own lives, and that mostly within their own conduct, commitment, consciousness, and sense of purpose.  Many others involved will not have developed and grown as much.  Thus, making public proclamation of sins from the past is not of itself a genuine act of repentance; and in the case of the priest, his confession has called forth accusations, placing blame, condemnation, and demands for payment, rather than the manifestation of the Holy Spirit within the church, and the heartfelt displays of humility, mature understanding, and godly love he hoped would appear his fellow believers.

Confession pertains to judgment and salvation.  In accordance with the Scriptures, three forms of confession may appear:  (1) a confession of need), (2) a confession of transgression/wrongdoing, and (3) a confession of conviction and faith.  Given the operations of pride are little different than sin, public confession may corrupt a congregation of believers, for such confession may mask bragging, deceit, divisiveness, self-promotion, showing off, and vainglory.  While testimony may be shared to build up and edify the body of believers, confession is an aspect of judgment, and is more correctly directed only to GOD who is judge.  Confession is not to be made to those who are foolish and unwise regarding the things of judgment.  To truly benefit all concerned, it is often more necessary that the discipline, maturity and strength of silence be practiced in place of confession; and it is in silence that ones trust in GOD shines forth most brightly.  In the same way peaceful protest and counter demonstrations are resulting in destructive confrontations, the sharing of confessions focused on sins of the past are now promoting a great upheaval among Americans.  It is foolish and unwise to seek “justice” against those from earlier periods of history on the basis of the social standards and cultural values of the present day.  There are those demanding rejection of the early pioneers and those who contributed to the development of our Nation and its greatness.  Included have been George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and even, Christopher Columbus.  Just as the operations of mercy appear primarily during judgment, forbearance, forgiveness and reconciliation are to appear during confession.  Consider the following:

(1.)  Confession as a sacred practice and in the course of formal ministry is not on the same level as gossip.  This is specially so during practices and sacraments focused on healing as in James 5:  13-16, King James Version (KJV):  13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.  14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:  15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

(2.)  Confession may be demanded within the law, yet, confession will not answer all the requirements and sanctions of the law that also address correction, full disclosure, financial liability, and punishment.  Loss and damage from transgression becomes more completely crystallized in the light of confession.  Thus, the enormity of the sin of Achan at Jericho in taking the “accursed thing” (a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight) is staggering, for it resulted in despair throughout the camp, Israel’s first defeat, and the death of 39 men at Ai (see Joshua 7, KJV).  Judgment is not complete until the findings and sentence of the law have been carried out.

(3.)  The principles and rules of confidentiality that bind a confessor and prohibit his discussing and revealing what has been exchanged in ministry also binds the person who makes a confession.  Disbelievers, ones parents, ones spouse, ones children have no authority to rank and rate the quality, sincerity, and value of your prayers, or whatever else may occur within other aspects of our own intimate relationship with GOD.

(4.)  Correctly understood, the admission of wrongdoing is also the admission of guilt, yet, is distinct from the acceptance and acknowledgment of accountability.  Many are willing to admit wrongdoing and express sorrow for their errors, however, they also must be willing to accept accountability for “cleaning up the mess,” healing, making compensation, correction, and restitution. 

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  It is an error to think that public confession featuring the details of wrongdoing is of any benefit to the body.  “All have sinned and come short” is sufficient to identify the need for grace without there being an exhaustive detailing of mistakes and transgressions.  The duty for clergy is not to offer others or themselves upon an altar of condemnation, spiritual confusion, and personal sacrifice; rather, it is to offer Jesus Christ.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, reply is on the revelation of divinity, law, judgment, and sin.  A fighter suggests that Jesus Christ demonstrated deliverance from death may come by flaws, “loopholes,” and technicalities within the law.  Many believers are surprised to find that the full instruction of the Gospel, and its prophecies of GOD through Jesus Christ include descriptions of final judgment.  Before-unseen ideas are shared such as the first and second resurrection; the second death; and the destruction of Satan as well as the truths that the conduct of final tribunals will be without accusers, and all will be challenged only by the testimony of their own deeds found recorded in the Lamb’s book of life.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” who uses the ID “Mortal Seeker” (Level 3 with 2,142 points, a member since April 14, 2012) posted the following:

 

Christians, why didn’t Jesus stone the woman caught in adultery, if he was God and God punishes the wicked when its time for judgment?

She was brought before Jesus for judgment, she was unquestionably guilty under the law, and there’s no indication that she had repented or was one of his followers before the judgment began.

Yet he let her go on the ground that her accusers were imperfect in their obedience to the law. Why would he do that if he was God and God punishes people when its time for judgment if they haven’t repented and joined Jesus?

Would Jesus likewise let us go on Judgment Day on the grounds that Satan the Accuser is imperfect in his obedience to the law?

“Mortal Seeker”, where we respond to accounts in the Scriptures on the basis of their carnal, material, secular, and social elements, we often fail to apprehend their fullness as revelations of divinity and as sacred knowledge.  We are to see that the guilty adulteress and the paralytic brought by his friends show oneness without sameness.  Just as on the cross, Jesus embodied Israel and all mankind, the Savior embodied sin and demonstrated its destruction by the Father and the Holy Spirit.  Mature Christians acknowledge that Jesus appeared as an Incarnation of the full GODhead, who revealed the character, substance and makeup of Deity, while also exposing the operations of sin as contrary to existence, life, eternal purpose, and sovereign will.  Going further, the Savior also revealed more regarding the nature and process both of divine judgment, and of sacred law.

In Creation, divinity is shown to operate as multiple persons existing as oneness without sameness.  GOD is seen in authority, power, purpose, and his role as the single source for all that exists.  In Salvation, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit focus on mankind, and divinity is to be known through such elements as atonement, forgiveness, longsuffering, and lovingkindness.  In Judgment, divinity is specially to be known through impartiality, mercy, righteousness, and thoroughness.  Consider again the following:

(1.)  Hosea 6:  4-6, King James Version (KJV):  4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.  5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth:  and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.  6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

(2.)  Matthew 9:  2-7, KJV:  2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed:  and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.  3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.  4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?  5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?  6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.  7 And he arose, and departed to his house.

(3.)  Jeremiah 33:  20-26, KJV:  20 Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;  21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.  22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured:  so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.  23 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,  24 Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.  25 Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;  26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob:  for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

STEVAN”, along with ignorance and presumptuousness, the operations of sin in the lives of created beings and living creatures may be described as a form of blindness that can be healed through the ministry of Jesus Christ.  Sin is no material object or spirit substance created by GOD; yet, sin may dominate awareness and self-will within the living.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and the entire universe put forth by divinity.  Sin has direction, effect, and presence; however, without the provisions of GOD for discernment and healing (e.g., sacred law, preaching, rebirth), the living fail to correctly recognize and respond to sin in the life as a threat to their own existence.

Many today can not grasp that sin supports only the expression of an animal nature for mankind, and is contrary to the fulfillment of all our truly human and divine potential.  They argue that sin is “natural”, normal, and even, necessary.  Yet, sin can not be eliminated or removed by relying only upon scholarship, secular knowledge, and finite tools such as intellect, logic, carnal reason, critical thinking, philosophy and science.  Increasingly, the campus and the classroom are defiled and profaned by sin.  The elimination of sin requires the various operations performed by divinity.  Included are atonement, judgment, sanctification, and the second death.

The active presence (we also say, breath, life essence, spirit) who is GOD appears, and uses human form (we say, is incarnate) through Christian believers that serve as vessels of his word and his imparted Spirit.  The revelation of GOD that makes divinity knowable, known, and accessible, also exposes the destroying influence and power of sin.  In the same way, Jesus of Nazareth died on the cross as an embodiment of sinners from Israel and all humanity, Jesus also was an embodiment of sin and separation from GOD.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  John 9:  1-7, King James Version (KJV):  1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.  2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?  3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents:  but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.  4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day:  the night cometh, when no man can work.  5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.  6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,  7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

(2.)  Ephesians 4:  17-19, KJV:  17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,  18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:  19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Today, reply is made on the duration and lasting effects of sacred events (miracles).  By the operations of GOD, one-time events that are completely broken off and ended within their physical settings and temporal intervals may endure and exist as continuous, ongoing, and unfinished within consciousness as well as within spirit.  Also, while faith may produce miracles, miracles do not always produce faith.  Miracles often appear as marvels, or wonders that result from the interruption and suspension of the regularities acknowledged as “natural law” among such academic disciplines as Astronomy, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Physics.  However, correctly understood, miracles rarely occur as disturbances or disruptions of divine order.  Miracles expressing the authority and sovereign will of GOD are temporal events directed to carnal, material, and social conditions, and always appear in accordance with divine law, eternal purpose, and sacred process.  Without the preparation that comes through faith, sacred knowledge, and regular practice of divine sacraments, the sudden, unexpected appearance of miracles results in sinners having increased disbelief, fear, skepticism, and spiritual confusion.  The fighter at “Yahoo! “maulporphy”, for Christian believers, the presence of unseen things are being established on the basis of faith, not on the basis of what is seen.  On the one hand, the revelation of divinity to created beings and living creatures addresses multiple aspects of their consciousness (e.g., intellect, logic, imagination, recall), and must use finite devices, events, and tools to make immortal, invisible GOD, who is active presence and spirit, knowable, known, and accessible through regular contact, exchanges and interactions (we say, ongoing relationships).  On the other hand, to apprehend divine fullness (we say, the GODhead; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) one must contain and rely upon their own endowment of spirit substance imparted from the makeup of GOD.  Included are inseparable aspects of Deity such as faith, forbearance, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, wisdom, and wrath against sin. 

The perfection of Jesus Christ (the Father, or the Holy Spirit) must be known using discernment and sacred (not secular) knowledge.  The manifesting of GOD in the Son is more than a matter of the Savior’s deeds and works to benefit mankind; for the divine operations of Creation, judgment, salvation, and eternal life are grounded in proclamation, promise, prophecy, and actualizing utterance (word).  Both the ministry of Jesus on the earth, and the spiritual gifts that have been received by his followers are in the nature of a partial payment, or “good faith” deposit.  In addition to acts of faith and prophetic demonstrations, the revelation of GOD through Jesus Christ has shared admonition, exorcism (casting out unclean spirits), commanded expectations (we say, hope), healing, judgment, preaching, sacred events (we say, miracles) as well as raising the dead.  Yet to be seen are the conclusion of final judgment, the second death, and the distribution of rewards to those who have worked for Christ.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  2nd Corinthians 1:  21-22, King James Version (KJV):  21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;  22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

(2.)  Romans 1:  18-21, KJV:  18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;  19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.  20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

(3.)  Ephesians 1:  9-14, KJV:  9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:  10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:  11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:  12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.  13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:  in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,  14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

THE SECOND COMING

 

Today, three Bible passages are shared that address questions on receiving grace and having merit with GOD.  The divine commandment is that we honor both father and mother.  Few mature Christians are likely to express judgment against their own parents, or call for favor from GOD to be granted one of their parents that would generate division, divorce, and their separation.  Criticizing, condemning, and coming between ones own parents are accounted as arrogant, hateful, malicious, presumptuous, unloving, and unrighteous.  Were a son or daughter to make a request of Jesus on behalf of their parents like that made for James and John, the sons of Zebedee, the Risen Lord might well respond in a similar way.  [It is written:  Matthew 20:  20-24, King James Version (KJV):  20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.  21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.  22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.  23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with:  but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.  24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.]  Correctly understood, proper merit and worthiness for the things of divinity exist only among the persons within the GODhead where there is oneness without sameness that appears through mutual acceptance, complementary accomplishments, combined authority, one-of-a-kind commitment and faithfulness, specific eternal purposes, miracles and one-time events, and unified displays of divine worth.  Examples are seen in such sacred operations as atonement, propitiation, revelation, forgiveness, judgment, Incarnation, resurrection, sacrifice, sanctification, and suffering.  One of the many fighters at “Yahoo! “Anonymous”, there is a whole group of questions similar to this one of yours that all must be answered pretty much the same way.  Included are:  Who deserves to be created?  Who deserves to be healed?  Who deserves to be forgiven?  Who deserves to be loved by GOD?  Who deserves to be saved from hellfire?  Who deserves a great life and happiness from GOD (i.e., a fine-looking spouse, wealth, a big house, nice car, fun job, etc.)?  In a sense, the choice is easy because it is made by the law and not on the basis of emotion, feelings, and kinship.  Even so, mature Christian believers would all be likely to answer these questions with statements from the holy writings that speak to the awesomeness, grace, ownership, divine prerogative, eternal purposes, righteousness in judgment, sovereign will, and love of GOD.  There is no single, short, sweet answer, yet, there are lessons and points of truth that will nourish.  Consider again the following three passages:

(1.)  Luke 7:  36-50, King James Version (KJV):  36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.  37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,  38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.  39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him:  for she is a sinner.  40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.  41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors:  the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.  42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?  43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.  44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet:  but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.  45 Thou gavest me no kiss:  but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.  46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint:  but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.  47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much:  but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.  48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.  49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?  50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

(2.)  1st John 4:  7-11, KJV:  7 Beloved, let us love one another:  for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

(3.)  Isaiah 57:  15-21, KJV:  15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.  16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth:  for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.  17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him:  I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.  18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him:  I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.  19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.  20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.  21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
