Jan Harmensz. Muller, Lot and His Daughters, 1600

Today, reply is on incest, Lots daughters, correct sacred knowledge, and the work of the Bible to make sin recognizable. Different sexual sins are described in the holy writings, however, it is an error to label all sexual behavior as sin, just as it is an error to insist that the “original sin” committed by Adam and Eve was that the pair performed sexual intercourse. Those who lack sacred knowledge regarding sin as the transgression of divine law usually are quick to express condemnation for sexual behavior, and to judge against others for sexual activity. We see this somewhat with the condemnation of Lots virgin daughters whose concern in their escape from Sodom was how to fulfill their duty as child-bearers. In ancient Bible times, a mans children and household were accounted as his inheritance from GOD, his personal property, and his wealth. For this reason, Lot offers his two daughters in ransom to a crowd threatening to rape the two strangers he had welcomed into his home. While appearing as unselfish and willing sacrifices similar to Isaac at Mount Moriah, neither of the girls were harlots, yet, both have been labeled as sexual figures among modern Christian readers. It is written: Galatians 5: 19-23, King James Version (KJV): 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Is it true that the Bible has father daughter incest in it?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6: 1-4, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Adam, Family and Law (07/05/2017); Why Was Lot Spared? (12/20/2015); Incest? (10/29/2015); The Judgment Against Sodom? (04/10/2015); Remembering Lot’s Wife (11/04/2014); Sinless Until Advent? (11/05/2014); Lot and the Angels (05/04/2014); Expulsion from Eden (04/05/2014)

Anonymous”, sin is the transgression of divine law. Until the law of Moses was granted, incest does not appear as a sexual and social sin associated with the frameworks of family and marriage. While the primary work of the Bible is to make GOD knowable, known, accessible, and approachable, the Bible also must expose the otherwise unseen process and substance of sin. Sin opposes the continued existence of sacred law, the Lawgiver, and all divine order throughout the universe. Sin is not a spirit, has not been sent forth by GOD, and sin is no physical matter that may be removed by a single act of divine destruction. Even so, sin may dominate awareness and self-will within created beings and living creatures.

In the same way the living do not immediately apprehend the “exceeding sinfulness of sin,” that sin generates enduring consequences that can continue long after the death of the sinner, and that sin is contrary to both divine and human nature, many become convinced and deceived thinking their choice to sin has been natural, normal, practical, and necessary. Sin often includes elements of counterfeit authority, deceit, false innocence, presumption, and self-promotion.

The account of incest committed by the daughters of Lot does not appear as the kind of romantic story we often see now in movies and television. The characters do not repeatedly express burning lust and passion as in novels and stories for amusement and entertainment. At a time when the covenant law for Israel was not yet written in stone by the finger of GOD, divinity appeared within their lives through their association with Abraham and the covenant of circumcision. Angels were dispatched to secure the deliverance of their father, Lot, from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah; and their blessing was in the nature of inheritance. The girls were faced with issues of immaturity, isolation, loneliness, their mother turned to a pillar of salt by her disobedience, and the certainty that their father would not be granted another mate. They correctly acknowledged that they themselves would have to take accountability for their own life, death and survival; and mistakenly believed it was their duty to ensure their father’s name would be continued by his own heir. In this error they continued the practices of Adam, and copied Abram ensuring an heir through Hagar. That the daughters used alcohol to seduce their father shows they both realized he would deny them as unreasonable and unrighteous: both babies could have been born as females. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. Romans 7: 9-14, King James Version (KJV): 9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

2. Proverbs 23: 27-35, KJV: 27 For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit. 28 She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men. 29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. 32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. 33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. 34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. 35 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

3. Ezekiel 16: 49-50, KJV: 49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 4. Romans 8: 1-9, KJV: 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, reply is on incest and the divine process for populating the earth.  While mankind and other living creatures are evaluated using immutable patterns and regularities we may call divine order, natural law, and sacred law, existence for the three persons of divine fullness does not require measurement against fixed standards.  Where the focus for communication, exchange and interaction (we say, relationship) is to be in continual contact as companions to immortal, incorruptible divinity, reproduction may be understood as a mechanical process, rather than one of commitment, exclusive devotion, and obedience to the sovereign will of a Creator.  Adam (the first pair), and their offspring that included Noah and those from the ark, did not come under divine condemnation for having to use sexual reproduction among themselves to populate the earth.  One of the fighters at “Yahoo! How do Bible “literal-ist’s” (creationists) reconcile with the rampant incest required between Adam, Eve, and their children?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:  and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.  (Genesis 1:  27-28, King James Version, KJV)

“Anonymous”, I can’t speak for what you call “Bible literal-ists”, however, as a mature Christian believer I can share some points that do not always come into view among atheists, disbelievers, scoffers, and those wanting to be called “scientists”.  In order to correctly examine and benefit from the things that describe divinity, a person should employ a system of connected attitudes, beliefs, focus, sacred knowledge and divine spirit content such as Christianity.  In the same way, the operations of GOD to establish heaven and earth were not carried out on the basis of existing natural laws, in the Creation divinity did not respond to the episodic and temporal emotions, feelings and thoughts of finite beings, or to what might result as their social conventions, customs, and traditions.  Mankind was conceived and emanated as a living creature who would continue in the image and process of GOD.  Law was organic, and existed within consciousness and self-will as aspects of the makeup of living creatures, and was not provided as a mechanism to restore lost spirit substance or replace the active presence of Deity.  Going further, the demands for divine judgment centered in determining duration, meaning, quality and value.  There was no need to resolve conflicts and settle disputes among the living by applying sanctions and standards from a comprehensive legal structure for law.

The definitions, quality of life, and values among mankind that have developed within the frameworks of time, space, and material existence have appeared on the basis of finite secular knowledge and human data management.  By contrast, the Bible documents and records commandments, covenants, and instruction from GOD for maintaining priesthood, sacred practices (we say, sacraments), divine promises, and prophecy.  Such features as childrearing, family, lifestyles, and marriage come into view as instruments and tools for revelation.  Few people would argue that Adam and Eve were poor parents because they did not send their children to good public and parochial schools, and did not save and properly manage the money in their children’s’ college fund.  Such elements were nonexistent and irrelevant.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Devices provided to permit mortals on the earth to have uninterrupted existence in covenant with immortal divinity are in view, today.  Therefore, covenant relationships, the kinsman redeemer, hope, inheritance, levirate marriage, promise, revelation, resurrection, and sacred law all are topics.  The fulfillment of divine promise is not a matter of chance, or a mere completion of mechanical cycles and sequences of natural events that appear in the earth.  Divine intent and eternal purpose are carried out and deliberately performed by the full GODhead that displays divine consciousness, person, and will.  Included are the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son of the Highest.  The use of death to block and break off sin, with resurrection to restore the dead in judgment maintains and further enables such original divine purposes in Creation as the intent that existence, life and purity should be eternal, nonstop, perpetual, without decay or defilement, and uninterrupted.  The fighter at “Yahoo! What do these mean?

Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife. And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
(Luke 20:27-36)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,  Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.  For men verily swear by the greater:  and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.  Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:  That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:  Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;  Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.  (Hebrews 6:  13-20, King James Version, KJV)

“abdul”, for those having sacred knowledge through regular study of the holy writings, and those who share fellowship and sacred practice (we say, sacraments) as mature Christian believers, the passage of Scripture you are considering is intended to correct recurring errors about the character, nature and substance of GOD.  The following points should be carefully examined:

1.  The devices of family, inheritance and covenant relationship are used by the Creator to continue close association, communication, and interaction with mankind despite the interruptions that repeatedly occur through decease, mortality, and sin.  Divinity does not define or use “family” in the same way carnal, material, and social beings do.  Thus, the earth was to be populated using a single son of GOD, Adam, and his offspring.  The issues and problems we now know regarding incest and marriage did not exist.

2.  The Creator has made divinity knowable and known using spokespersons and divine utterance (we say, prophets, messengers, the word) that includes proclamation, promise, and prophecy.  The platforms of heaven and earth have been separated, and made to be stable apart from a former condition of chaos, flux, and being without form.  As the origin of all sacred law, divine order, and stability for the universe, the Creator has revealed himself to be immortal,  immutable and unchanging.  Covenants to recover intimacy with mankind rely upon diversity and meeting specific divinely set conditions in place of accident, chance, change, or randomness.

3.  The covenants to establish Israel included their transformation from a collection of tribes into a sovereign state among the nations upon the earth.  As the lawful owner of the earth realm, the Creator dispossessed the seven tribes that lived in the Promised Land as partners in an original covenant, that did not address the offspring and promise to Abraham.  The allotments and distribution of the land provided by GOD were to be permanent.  As such, the economy of the state would be ensured to prosper through inheritance.  Conflict and wars to settle property disputes would be avoided:  even where a man would die childless, a provision was made that allowed his brother (i.e., kinsman redeemer, or nearest of kin) to impregnate his spouse, and rear a child “to carry on his name.”

There is far more that could be said, must be carefully examined, and spiritually understood.  (For example, 4.  The appearance of GOD in human experience continues to be discerned and realized through operations of unseen things that include awareness, being, life essence (we say, breath, spirit, word), and person.  Mankind is to be acknowledged as a product of imparting spirit content from the makeup of the Creator into a material form fashioned by GOD.  Judgment, rebirth through baptism, and resurrection for the dead are provided as devices to accomplish eternal purposes that include permanently eliminating death and sin.  Through the Holy Spirit (also called, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth), followers of Jesus Christ are to exist as a new creation, and vessels filled with inseparable aspects from the makeup of GOD such as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, meekness, wisdom and wrath against sin.)  Even so, I am sure this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, the character and nature of family as shown at the cross is in view.  Divine authority, compassion, eternal purpose, and consecrated transactions to repurchase the earth make family an aspect of the new creation and testament in his blood brought into being by Jesus Christ.  The covenants through Abraham and Moses permanently altered continuity, inheritance, and social relationships for those as heads of families, heirs, parents, siblings, spouses, and those having legal authority with privilege to resolve financial and other disputes (we say, kinship redeemers).  The law of Levirate marriage was intended to preserve the economy of Israel whereby ownership of the Promised Land would continue by the eternal word of promise made by GOD to the fathers.  Similarly, the new covenant in Christ establishes family as a body of those united through divine blood, faith, humility, obedience, the righteousness of the law, and imparted spirit content from the makeup of divinity.  There may be oneness without sameness; and equality of accountability and condition does not always mean having the same duty, perfection, and privilege.  Consider again the following Scriptures, and the presentation below:

2nd Corinthians 5:  17-21, King James Version (KJV):  17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:  old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:  we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Hebrews 12:  6-10, KJV:  6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.  7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.  9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence:  shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?  10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Ephesians 2:  18-22, KJV:  18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.  19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;  20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;  21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:  22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

1st Peter 4:  14-17, KJV:  14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you:  on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.  15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.  16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.  17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:  and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

How can we be equal to Jesus? How can we be his mother?

http://bible.com/111/mat.12.48-50.niv He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Atheists please do us a favor and go away. Thanks

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,  Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.  Now there were with us seven brethren:  and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:  Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.  And last of all the woman died also.  Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.  Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.  For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.  But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,  I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.  And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.  (Matthew 22:  23-33, KJV)

“Anonymous”, you seem to have been chosen to pose some of the hard questions that many are puzzled by as they consider Christian belief.  Trusting that answers are continuing to flow to us across time and space through operations of the Holy Spirit, blood and truth from the cross are reaching to here and now.  There are multiple sacred operations wherein created beings and living creatures are brought into intimate and personal relationship with Deity.  In addition to baptism (i.e., death of ones inborn spirit, rebirth from divine DNA, so to speak), believers become joined to the body of Christ through adoption of the Holy Spirit, anointing, childbearing, commitment (some say, dedication or devotion), holy matrimony, inheritance, ordination, praise, prayer, repentance, sanctification, and worship.  The meaning and process of “family” as used by divinity has altered over the course of time since the first pair, Adam.  Family was a divine (not human) tool for populating the earth, and the finite social values we now emphasize regarding incest were not in place.  Covenant law granted to Moses and those who left Egypt (Gentiles included) was as much to establish correction, guidance, and standards for birthrights, family, and sexual relations as to establish a full functioning geopolitical state (nation).  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ, the new and eternal basis for ones standing within the framework of family and divine heritage is the Savior’s blood and Spirit, and is no longer to be ones own birth order, blood, kinship, and sanguinity.  The foundations for family are such grounding as faithfulness, righteousness, spirit content from the makeup of divinity, shared suffering, trust, truth, and unselfishness.  Jesus demonstrated this at the cross when he surrendered his place as the son of Mary to John, and charged him to be dutiful as her son in his place.  Consider how this is stated using language from the Bible in the following verses:

(1.)  Romans 8:  14-17, King James Version (KJV):  14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

(2.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

(3.)  John 17:  18-23, KJV:  18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.  19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.  20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;  21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:  that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:  23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

There is far more to be said, understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  John 19:  25-27, KJV:  25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.  26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!  27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, Scripture and points are shared on Adam (the first pair), divine law, and populating the earth through sexual reproduction.  Family with GOD as its head is not the same as family managed by flesh.  Eternal purposes that were to be accomplished through mankind having place as a life companion to Deity may only be manifest as destruction and suffering when taken up by those separated from the divine heart of love.  Adultery and intercourse between adult siblings has been labeled as perverted and unnatural; yet, curiosity, expressing sexual appetite, sex play, and the natural development of ones sexuality always begins in the home.  While divinity should be acknowledged for having created the earth, the stars, and the universe, it is correct to regard “the world” as having been created by mankind.  Many mechanisms and operations first provided by GOD have been altered, changed and re-fitted to be aspects of the world system.  Included are family, language, marriage, money, science, and weapons.  Following epidemic disease, famine or warfare, methods such as abduction (we now say, rape), captivity (we now say, slavery), incest, polyandry and polygamy have been used to maintain and restore balance, order, and stability.  The living have developed multiple devices for their own carnal, material, and social survival, and for that of their offspring.  Even so, family, the household of faith, continuing interaction with divinity, and godly relationships (e.g., ambassadors, apostles, friends, life companions, prophets, stewards) are yet present upon the earth through divine operations that include atonement, rebirth, repentance, and sanctification.  Consider again the following from the Bible, and the discussion appearing below:  Ephesians 2:  19-22, King James Version (KJV):  19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;  20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;  21 In whom all the building fitly framed together growth unto an holy temple in the Lord:  22 In whom also ye are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Why would God allow incest in the old testament?

This is really confusing me because I am a christian and when I read that God allowed incest in the old testament its really making me sick to my stomach. Its making me think differently about God. I am really upset about this… I dont think I am angry but I feel that I cant move past this. God is good and has performed magical miracles for me but I find myself being cibfused and I dont know how to let this go. How did you feel when you found this out and how did you get through it? What do I do because I dont want to be an unbeliever. I have faith in God and nothing will take make me stop believing but when I read that it just really got me discouraged.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.  Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.  Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:  Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it:   he went up to my couch.  Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.  O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united:  for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.  Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel:  I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.  Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise:  thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee.  Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up:  he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?  The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.  (Genesis 49:  1-10, KJV)

“Jerrika”, what you may be speaking of as incest has appeared upon the earth through innocence, and ignorance of divine law as well as through defiance, iniquity, rebellion and sin.  GOD is a spirit who has emanated all that now exists, and is reproduced within the living by imparting divine substance to their content and makeup.  The process of divinity for mankind to populate the earth (as for animals, birds and insects) was to be reproduction introduced through sexual joining of gender pairs.  At first, the moral, psychological, and social meaning of family, that we now know, did not appear.  Incest as the violation of eternal law began and remains in the same way as lying, murder and stealing:  operations of sin that oppose the continued existence of sacred law, of the Law Giver, and of all the divine order upheld by law.  Because created beings and living creatures can not discern and recognize sin as contrary to their own and the divine nature, sacred gifts and mechanisms have been provided by GOD (e.g., baptism, covenant, Incarnation, judgment, law, marriage, monarchy, rebirth, sacrifice, the Holy Spirit) for correction, and increased resistance to sin.  To avoid further error and spiritual confusion, carefully consider the following points from the holy writings that proclaim divine intent and purpose:

(1.)  Isaiah 45:  18, King James Version (KJV):  18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited:  I am the LORD; and there is none else.

(2.)  Leviticus 18:  5-6, KJV:  5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments:  which if a man do, he shall live in them.  I am the LORD.  6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness:  I am the LORD.

(3.)  Leviticus 19:  29, KJV:  19 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

(4.)  Titus 1:  9, KJV:  9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  Titus 1:  15-16, KJV:  15 Unto the pure, all things are pure:  but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.  16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Points are shared on why Christian believers are not commenting on the problems of fornication and sexual sin as depicted by a popular family known through a current “reality television” program.  Mature believers recognize the same elements encountered by the Apostle Paul and spoken of by the Savior (see 1st Corinthians 5:  1-13, King James Version (KJV) and Luke 13:  1-5, KJV).  A fighter at “Yahoo! New Zealand” using the ID “Stephen” (Level 7 with 35,768 points, a member since March 28, 2006) posted the following:

Why has there been no discussion of the current scandal concerning the Duggar family in this section of Y.A.?

There are many people who write into this section of Y.A. denigrating LGBTQ people. Lately the scorn has been heaped up Caitlyn Jenner. But here we have a apparently Christian religious family who are in the midst of a sexual scandal. Their heterosexual eldest son has molested several young girls including a couple of his sisters and what did the elder Duggars do? NOTHING. In fact they are still trying to protect him and claiming the abuse was negligible. Two things come from this: 1. this pedophile (like the vast majority) is heterosexual, and 2. this is a supposedly Christian family. How about some of you good Christians take this up for discussion. And those of you who equate homosexuality with pedophilia, why aren’t you commenting?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent:  for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.  Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance:  for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.  For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of:  but the sorrow of the world worketh death.  For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.  Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.  (2nd Corinthians 7:  8-12, KJV)

“Stephen” the themes for Christian conversation center upon grace, salvation, and the gifts from an eternal GOD rather than the many infirmities and weaknesses existing among the living, who are social and temporal beings.  Here are a few of the many points Christian believers maintain as their focus rather than the details of crime, gossip, error, rumors, scandal, sickness and sin:

(1.)  Human sexuality was provided as a divine mechanism for continuing life, and is mistakenly labeled as “original sin.”  So to speak, the sacred tool has been made to be a device for animal and selfish pleasure through the operations of sin.  More important than condemning others, or complaining against and rebuking sin is the work of comfort, edification and encouraging repentance through forgiveness.

(2.)  Sin is an influence that opposes the continued existence of divine law, the eternal Law Giver, and the divine order establishing and maintaining the entire universe.  Sin is no living entity; no concrete and material object; and no spirit emanated from Deity.  Sin has no measurable dimensions, yet, has direction, effect, and presence.

(3.)  Because sin may dominate awareness and self-will within created beings and living creatures, sin is routinely experienced as if a natural and ordinary feature of ones correct makeup.  Sin is not recognized as contrary to all existence, and an abomination to divinity.  Therefore, multiple ongoing sacred operations are being carried out to expose and reveal (not every individual event or all the sordid details, yet) the essence of what may be described as “sin”.  Included are admonition (we say, warning), atonement, baptism, correction, covenant, forgiveness, Incarnation, divine judgment, rebirth, and sanctification.

(4.)  As a class, Christians are those spiritually removed and shielded (we say, born again) from the overwhelming range of sins displayed through appetite, attitudes, behavior, and conduct.  Even so, many of us are still in a subtle process (i.e., barely visible; having hidden shifts in meaning and value) carried out by GOD for the living to be released from habits and lifestyles that once centered in fornication, lust, and the absence of will power for godly living.  Believers must be gradually and permanently changed (we say, grow again, mature, become perfected) through operations of the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD.  All Christians begin as sinners, who must receive the same spirit content that resides within Jesus Christ.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually taken into account.  (For example, (5.)  1st Peter 4:  16-18, KJV:  16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.  17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:  and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?  18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith and spiritual maturity.

Adam, angels, and sin are topics, today.  Also, there is more on deliverance, discernment, and the figures of Abraham and Lot.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “>” (Level 6 with 22,634 points, a member since May 20, 2012) posted the following:

Why was expulsion from paradise the punishment for original sin?

Some Christians believe that Genesis happened verbatim and is not just allegory.

Many modern day Christians believe that there are six steps to repentance:

1. Feel Godly Sorrow
2. Confess to God
3. Ask for Forgiveness
4. Rectify Problems Caused by Sin(s)
5. Forsake Sin
6. Receive Forgiveness

If Adam and Eve were indeed cast out of Eden for original sin, why didn’t God give them an opportunity for repentance FIRST using the 6 steps we have been given? This seems like HUGE oversight for an all-loving and all-forgiving God! It is blaring inconsistencies like this that strengthen the atheistic argument.

Thank you for you kind and informative answers.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Lot and the Angels (05/04/2014)—(5.)  Many believers acknowledge the various accounts of Lot that appear in Scripture are provided for instruction that is drawn by contrast.  Two objects or persons placed in the same or similar settings may be given the same opportunity for relationship with GOD, yet, respond very differently, and receive different outcomes.  Abraham and his sons are juxtaposed against Lot and his daughters.  Just as Abraham was in covenant through circumcision, Lot also was a covenant partner with GOD; however, his wife and daughters were not.  It remains that, the focus of these accounts are the revelation of GOD as righteous through judgment.  Many embrace spiritual confusion and error by centering upon issues of incest, lust, same-sex desire, and mob violence.  Rightly understood, that Lot’s daughters would complete their mortality at the hand of a rape-gang is no more wicked than their having to fight and die in combat on a battlefield to protect their own home, and community.  Until there is balance among the inseparable aspects of GOD that reside within a person as their own endowment of divine Spirit (e.g., faith, holiness, humility, longsuffering, love, wisdom, wrath against sin), a person may show generosity, gentleness and kindness, yet, be unable to discern spirit substance in events, objects or persons, be unable to endure challenges to their own spirit, be unskilled at smoothly adjusting to sudden spiritual changes, and unexpected shifts, and not be prepared for the coming of Christ in glory.  See Genesis 17:  1-27, Genesis 19:  23-26 and Luke 17:  28-33, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:  and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:  Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.  So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.  (Genesis 3:  22-24, KJV)

“>”, here are a few points to consider that are important to Christian belief:

(1.)  Many mistakenly think that the male and female pair were not given clear instruction regarding the law of GOD.  Because all sin may be spoken of as the transgression of divine law, there are those who feel that Adam’s expulsion from the Eden home on the basis of having violated divine law (that they were ignorant of) was unjustified.  Even where the two did not understand the clear statement of prohibition (DO NOT), or the admonition and warnings (when you do this, the result will be), it remains the two did receive a word from GOD that should not have been forgotten or ignored.  The pair failed to realize they were in a direct relationship with divinity based upon mutual acceptance, respect and trust.

(2.)  Rightly understood, all sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, of the divine Law Giver, and of the Creation that is established and maintained through sacred law.  Sin was first found among the holy angels, who did not comprehend its nature and potential.  Thus, many of the things demonstrated through mankind upon the earth, are to make clear to those in heaven the ruin that comes by sin.  Sin has no material or spirit content, yet, has direction, effect, and presence; and may dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures.

(3.)  Just as the pattern for a tabernacle that was given to Moses was a copy of things in heaven, the divine operations for the removal of sin in heaven are copied upon the earth.  Included are atonement, correction, forbearance, forgiveness, judgment, and sanctification.  Sin can not be eliminated as if a product of intellect, logic, reason or science.  Sin is also a failure to perform in accordance with faith and the many other inseparable aspects deposited within the living from divine makeup such as holiness, longsuffering, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The angels are neither mortal nor immortal; may be destroyed through the use of holy fire; and continue their existence through faith, and divine grace.  To restrain the spread of sin within the earth realm, it became necessary to establish mankind in mortality (i.e., temporary and finite existence) through the use of death.  Expulsion from the Garden, and its removal from the earth, were necessary to deny access to eternal life for mankind that would come through operations of the flesh (i.e., eating from the Tree of Life) or by further disobedience, instead of reconciliation and righteousness.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith, and your willingness to learn as a genuine believer.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  (2nd Chronicles 7:  14, KJV)
