Lest You Forget

Today, reply is on the name believers are to use when speaking of the true and living GOD, and on forgetting the name of GOD by pursuing false gods and idolatry. Divine names are memorials that mark and continue awareness of sacred events. Also, a sacred “name” proclaims the personhood and reputation divinity presents for communication, exchange, and interaction with created beings and living creatures. Forms of “forgetting GOD” include exaggerated pride, idolatry, presumption, exalting self-will above the divine will, and the worship of false gods. GOD is to be known and spoken of by acknowledging the divine achievements and works. It is written: Exodus 3: 14-15, King James Version (KJV): 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information shown) posted the following:

Christians, what does God mean at Jeremiah 23:27 that they forgot his name through Baal worship?

Jeremiah 23:27: “Through their dreams that they tell one another, they plan to cause my people to forget my name as their fathers forgot my name through Baal worship.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end; And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God. (Deuteronomy 8: 11-20, King James Version, KJV)

Anonymous”, where false prophets and teachers appear who have not been anointed and sent from GOD, they often present dreams, interpretations, lies, and speculation about possible supernatural events. In so doing they encourage covenant believers to “forget” the sacred works whereby divinity is to be acknowledged, known, and continually respected. Prophets and teachers of error make false claims that the reputation and works that should be credited to GOD are from false gods, idols, or other men. Thus, they require the offerings, praises, sacrifices, thanksgiving, and worship that should be shown to GOD be given to another. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. Proverbs 20: 11, King James Version (KJV): 11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

2. Isaiah 48: 10-12, KJV: 10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. 11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. 12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 3. Isaiah 42: 5-8, KJV: 5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: 6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. 8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.) Partakers of His Holiness

Today, reply is on divine chastisement, respect, and student responses to teacher autonomy and behavior to continue a formal atmosphere for learning. Lessons that fit us for eternal life are acquired on a regular basis through many of our ordinary, daily routines. Even so, Christian teens and young adults may express angry feelings of being unfairly imposed on in school settings, and may mistakenly receive assignments, discipline, practice, and study as detention, penalties, persecution, or punishment. Some are overly quick to complain and label as malicious the necessary requirements for instruction and classroom order. These may even attribute and label confiscation of their Bible, interruption of their time for prayer and praise, and restriction of proselytizing as malicious, and “from the devil.” Discernment of spirit content from GOD must be developed; and it is correct to acknowledge Hebrews 12: 1-8, King James Version (KJV): 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. THE GOLDEN ARROW: For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; (Philippians 2: 13-15, King James Version, KJV)

Anonymous”, developing and mature Christian believers all have begun as sinners, and as those in need of transformation, guidance, sacred knowledge, and spiritual training (we also say, discipline). Multiple sacred operations must be completed that establish fellowship and joining among those entering covenant relationship with divinity, who eventually will appear as part of a community or household of faith; and there must be divinely provided opportunities and possibilities for discovery, gradual growth, continuous learning, practice, and unselfish service. Believers who are “born again” also must “grow up again” to become mature (balanced; complete; consistent; ripe; stable) for harvest by the Lord at his appearing (Advent; the Rapture; the Second Coming). Through the sacred operations of baptism that depict death of ones inborn spirit and rebirth from divine DNA so to speak, believers receive fresh endowments of life essence (breath; spirit; word) from the makeup of divinity. Included are faith, holiness, impartiality, longsuffering, lovingkindness, meekness, personhood, purity, restraint, wisdom, and wrath against sin. Increasingly, believers show themselves willing to be held accountable and “teachable” during the period for mastering skills and preparing to minister to others. Often for priests and kings, there are unwanted yet unavoidable challenges, duty, hardship, service, and suffering that will draw upon their inseparable deposits of godly strength. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.) Zephaniah 2: 2-3, King James Version (KJV): 2 Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’s anger come upon you. 3 Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger.

(2.) 1st Peter 2: 1-3, KJV: 1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

(3.) 1st Peter 2: 19-25, KJV: 19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) Romans 13: 1-8, KJV: 1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Deuteronomy-0412-Lord-spoke-out-of-the-fire

Today, reply is on the divine use of human agents, sacred events, and anointed spokespersons to communicate with, and maintain ongoing relationships among created beings and living creatures. GOD, who has put forth existence, life, and the universe as a sphere that contains divine presence, is a spirit, and manifests through elements that, in sum, are ineffable, invisible, and unspeakable using language and utterance of the flesh. Sacred knowledge must address more than merely earthly or spiritual authority, majesty, and splendor; eternal eminence, exaltation, and perfection also must be acknowledged and articulated. In the same way those who entered into covenant with GOD through the appearance of Moses and Aaron as prophet and priest, followers of Jesus Christ are to receive apostles, evangelists, and teachers sent from GOD. A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality, who uses the ID “The Dajjal” (Level 4 with 3,020 points, a member since May 16, 2013), posted the following:

Isnt it strange that god communicated through books and prophets instead of direct communication?

Almost as if he doesnt exist and people serve as his interpreters to control everyone else.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons. Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. (Matthew 21: 33-44, King James Version, KJV)

The Dajjal”, in the same way Donald Trump as President of the United States addresses public statements to all Americans, yet, will not appear personally in the home of every voter, GOD will have rule throughout the universe, and will not appear in a material form to every individual. Communicating with GOD is not the same as communicating with ones next door neighbor. Among Christian believers, it is not strange or unrighteous that divine fullness (we also say, the Creator; the GODhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) uses specific sacred operations (e.g., Incarnation, prophecy, rebirth, resurrection, revelation, visitation), formal structure (division of labor, hierarchy, ranks), sanctified tools (e.g., praise, prayer, worship), and anointed spokespersons for communicating with, and maintaining relationships that are meaningful to created beings and living creatures.

More than simply the feelings, thoughts, and personhood of divinity must be expressed. The living also must apprehend awe (i.e., the awesomeness of GOD; the fear of the Lord); certainty; completeness; grace; immortality; immutability; incorruptibility; integrity; “oneness” without “sameness”; divine prerogative; purity; eternal purpose; and sovereign will. Through operations by the Holy Spirit sinners are enabled to receive a fresh endowment of the life essence (we also say, breath, spirit, word) that was imparted to mankind at Creation from the makeup of GOD. Inseparable aspects of divinity must be internalized within the living. Included are faith, forbearance, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

When GOD proclaimed and spoke the Ten Commandments directly to those who left Egypt with Moses that were seeking the benefits and protection of a covenant relationship with the GOD who had overthrown Pharaoh, the people became awestruck and terrified. Overwhelmed by what they heard with their ears and felt throughout their own bodies—the voice of GOD echoing and vibrating within their own person—they begged that GOD would remain silent; and agreed to accept the covenant where GOD would speak directly only to Moses, or send other prophets. Thus, the process of conveying covenant law now correctly is one that uses human consciousness and self-will along with mankind’s finite tools for communication to display, embody, and transmit the expressed will of GOD. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.) Deuteronomy 4: 10-12, King James Version (KJV): 10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children. 11 And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness. 12 And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

(2,.) Deuteronomy 5: 23-28, KJV: 23 And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders; 24 And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth. 25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die. 26 For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived? 27 Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it. 28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.

(3.) Deuteronomy 18: 15-20, KJV: 15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. 20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) Ephesians 4: 10-15, KJV: 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Apt To Teach

Today, rather than attack the former First Lady, Secretary of State, and recent Candidate for President of the United States as many were doing in the “Yahoo! Answers” Religion and Spirituality forum, my reply is on teaching and volunteering within the church of Jesus Christ.  Within the household of faith, there are four callings to ministry acknowledged among believers:  preaching, teaching, music, and hospitality.  It should not be surprising that many who are activists, elected officials, leaders in their homes and workplaces, and thought leaders of the community-at-large offer themselves to the church through roles as comforters, study guides, and teachers.  Included are the positions as deacons and deaconesses, godparents, and nursing attendants as well as Sunday School supervisors and teachers.  In many church congregations, the work of the Sunday school teacher is that of a moderator who encourages discussion of the major points provided from prepared lesson booklets, or verses and passages recorded in the holy writings.  Developing believers are not to answer the challenge to serve Christ and the people of GOD on the basis of having a shared ethnic or racial background, issues of gender and sexual behavior, or even the depth of affection for their own families, friends, and relatives who are part of the congregation.  The same alertness, vigilance, impartiality and righteousness displayed by GOD in judgment should appear through their service as the children of GOD.  Therefore, these workers rarely boast having greater knowledge and skill than others within the body; and they serve on the basis of their humility, their love for the divine fullness (we also say, the Godhead; the Trinity; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit), their acknowledgment of the needs for salvation among others, their desire to continue sharing what they themselves receive from GOD, their willingness to make meaningful offerings and sacrifices along with their zeal.  One of the fighters who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile data appears) posted the following:

Is Hillary Clinton really a Bible scholar ? Hillary Clinton says she taught Sunday school Could Hillary Clinton be classified as pastor ?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:  That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.  The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.  (Titus 2:  1-5, King James Version, KJV)

“Anonymous”, here are some thoughts I can share that may help as you continue to examine the operations and process within the body of Christ:

(1.)  Academic achievement, degrees, and titles are often acknowledged and respected among Christian believers; however, the primary requirements for pastors and teachers are aspects of divine personhood and Christ-likeness.  Included are faith, forbearance, forgiveness, gratitude, humility, longsuffering, lovingkindness, sincerity, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(2.)  Many who have been professionals in classroom and school settings volunteer to serve in counseling and teaching roles within the church.  They bring secular knowledge, skills, and accounts of experience in the world along with such traits as adultness; skill using language and spoken word; and experience with curriculum development, classroom management, preparing lesson plans, and sharing through lectures and other forms of presentation.  In many assemblies those in these roles receive no money as payment for their work, and it is more in the nature of sharing and exchange than formal instruction.

(3.)  Clergy and leadership in the church family are respected and venerated as elders where they will continually display accountability, approachability, balance, completeness, mature perspective, sobriety, and stability.

(4.)  Commitment to Christ, faith, love of the Scriptures, and a host of other factors explain why a person believes and stands up to offer themselves in ministry.  This is true not only for Bible study classes; there are many roles demanding unselfish service such as praise and prophecy through music (i.e., the choir), church feeding programs, and programs for healing that focus on health, hygiene, and wellness.  Even so, many are called, and few are chosen.  Members do best when they acknowledge the eternal motives of divinity, avoid self-promotion, and continue in the discipline and works of prophecy.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(a.)  John 7:  14-18, King James Version (KJV):  14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.  15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?  16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.  17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.  18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory:  but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

(b.)  1st Corinthians 12:  27-29, KJV:  27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.  28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.  29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?  30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

(c.)  1st Corinthians 14:  26-33, KJV:  26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.  27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.  28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.  29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.  30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.  31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.  32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.  33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (d.)  1st Timothy 6:  3-11, KJV:  3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;  4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,  5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness:  from such withdraw thyself.  6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.  7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.  8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.  9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.  10 For the love of money is the root of all evil:  which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

SermonOfTheBeatitudes_Tissot

The Sermon of the Beatitudes (La sermon des béatitudes) 1886-1896 by James Tissot depicts Jesus teaching the multitude

Today, reply is on comparing sacred and secular knowledge, and the life tools of intellect and logic against spirit content imparted from the makeup of GOD.  Where a reader claiming to know science can not understand and process what I am presenting in this blog, I would not raise a question about their intelligence, however, I might well ask them to consider whether they have received the fresh endowment of divine spirit available from GOD through Jesus Christ.  Correctly understood, dialogue on Christian substance and belief is never one on self-promotion through “me, myself, and I” in place of focus upon GOD, whose character, nature and substance is exalted, immense, and sovereign.  Just as comparing and contrasting Jesus Christ with the other persons comprising divine fullness (i.e., the GODhead; the Father and the Holy Spirit) is foolish and unproductive, seeking to judge, impose hierarchy, and rank the Son of the Highest against other men because they have shared mortality with him is as useless as attempting to compare the greatness of two athletes in the same sport as different as basketball stars Shaquille O’Neal and Stephen Curry.  Their accomplishments, physical endowments, skills, strategies, and opportunities within a game always will be very different.  A fighter in the “Yahoo! THE GOLDEN ARROW:  If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;  He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,  Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness:  from such withdraw thyself.  But godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.  (1st Timothy 6:  3-7, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  His Suffering At Gethsemane (03/12/2018); The Coming(s) of Christ (03/11/2018); The Option of Atheism (02/11/2018); We Begin Within GOD (02/06/2018); Standards For Godly Behavior (02/01/2018); Sin No “One-time” Event (01/03/2018); Idolatry — Exalting Human Devices? (09/21/2017)

STEVAN”, although Christ and Hawking both have displayed authentic humanity recognizable by their endurance and overcoming of suffering (not by their imperfection); and both have served as teachers sharing views of the origins of mankind, the spheres of life, and the process of the universe, many Christian believers will argue that it is inappropriate to compare sacred knowledge against secular knowledge, the operations for achieving temporal goals against those for accomplishing eternal purposes, and the using of finite tools from mathematics, philosophy and science (e.g., analysis, contrast, logic, measurement, synthesis, discursive thought) against the sacred operations and divine substance required to endow mankind with eternal life (e.g.,  faith, holiness, longsuffering, resurrection from the dead, revelation, and sanctification.)

Practicing the circumspection and restraint that appear as godly wisdom among Christians, mature believers would shrink from the task of comparing (judging?) Hawking against Sir Isaac Newton, who has been lauded as “the most original and influential theorist in the history of science.”  (An entire branch within the field of Physics has been named for Sir Isaac.)  Even so, it is more correct to acknowledge the complementary of their distinct contributions, rather than introduce a vain condition (one that lacks spirit matter from the makeup of divinity) insisting on competition and rivalry.  Within the church of Jesus Christ, developing believers often have erred seeking to compare ministries of the Apostles, particularly, Paul and Peter.  Such focus is a distraction grounded in carnal, material and social earthiness.  It is more correct to acknowledge and affirm the appearance of the Holy Spirit within all the apostles, and their works.  Included should be genuine fellowship, love, and oneness without sameness.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Acts 4:  10-14, King James Version (KJV):  10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  12 Neither is there salvation in any other:  for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.  14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

(2.)  Ephesians 4:  4-8, KJV:  4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;  5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,  6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.  8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

(3.)  1st Corinthians 12:  17-27, KJV:  17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?  18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.  19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?  20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.  21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee:  nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.  22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:  23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.  24 For our comely parts have no need:  but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.  25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.  26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.  27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.) 1st Corinthians 3:  2-9, KJV:  2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat:  for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.  3 For ye are yet carnal:  for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?  4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?  5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?  6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.  7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.  8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one:  and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God:  ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, points are shared on denying the spirit nature of Scripture, and suppressing the revealed names of GOD.  In my faith, mankind may never know all the personal names of GOD; and so, division and quarreling on that basis is crude and ungodly.  Ultimately, all Christian believers must accept that the name of GOD is received through revelation and intimate relationship.  Talking about divinity is less meaningful than talking to divinity (we say, prayer).  By GOD appearing upon the earth in the person of Jesus Christ, the process for mankind to acknowledge and address Deity is made incarnate, intrapersonal, interpersonal, and a matter of spiritual resonance.  For mature believers in salvation by GOD through Jesus Christ, efforts to remove mystery and mysticism can not be permitted to defile, pollute, and profane the holy writings.  Consider again the following from the holy writings that settle it for me along with the points shared below:  Revelation 19:  11-16, King James Version (KJV):  11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:  and his name is called The Word of God.  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations:  and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:  and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.  A fighter at “Yahoo Answers” using the ID “Rolando C l” (Level 6 with 19,562 points, a member since April 30, 2008) posted the following:

Why do the majority of the Bible translations try to adulterate the Bible ?

By replacing the sacred name of God Jehovah, Yahweh, or YHWH with simple or common titles like Lord and God. It’s like asking your child what is the name of your school teacher? And he answers “teacher” and you ask him again what teacher there are 100 teachers in your school ? And he answers back all I know that he or she is teacher. Kind of childish to reason that way isn’t it.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.  Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  (Romans 8:  3-10, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Use Holy Names Not Titles? (08/17/2015); About Knowing the Name of GOD (09/21/2014); About Deluding Yourself? (09/22/2014); The Name(?) of GOD (04/09/2014); The “Miniature War”? (04/10/2014); How Was GOD Known Before Jesus? (10/06/2012); Jesus, King of Earth? (10/07/2012)

“Rolando C l”, explaining disbelief that dominates awareness and self-will within others is a tricky business, and so most Christian believers stick to declaring their own faith, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  When considering human process and the revealed names of GOD, here are some points that have helped many avoid error and spiritual confusion:

(1.)  In the same way the ancient Sadducees in the Temple at Jerusalem insisted upon the sanctity of divine law while refusing to teach the existence and operations of spirits (e.g., angels, demons, devils), many modern scholars and students of the holy writings seek to downplay focus upon doctrines on spirit matter, spirit process, and the purposes of GOD who is a spirit.  The High Priests who called for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, persecuted the early church, and suppressed the proclamation of the Savior’s resurrection, were both Sadducees (Caiaphas and Annas).

(2.)  The academic study of Natural Law, Philosophy and Science promote abstract reasoning, discursive thought, and methods that emphasize analysis, exactness, materialism, measurement, and precision.  Because their language is fashioned to describe and manipulate aspects of the environment, such readers of the Scriptures insist that GOD may not be spoken of using personal names, or existing within intimate relationships.  As a language process, personification (using such terms as he, she, they, himself) must be avoided, and should be forbidden.  Given that Spirit does not display measurable dimensions (e.g., breadth, depth, height, length, weight), GOD may not be acknowledged as existing within the environment, or the universe for observation, sampling and testing.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Formal studies of the occult, the paranormal, and the supernatural have generated disinformation that heavily influences readers of the Bible, today.  To counter the multiple confusions through metaphysics, popular psychology, clinical psychiatry and the like, many have sought to establish the ancient holy writings as only a cultural artifact, and documentation of secular history.  In their effort to “clean things up,” and simplify the process of knowing divinity they repeatedly err (throwing out the baby with the bath water, so to speak).  In attacking the spirit nature of the Scripture, they deny the existence for all prophecy, sacred events (we say, miracles), operations of the Holy Spirit (we also say, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth), the living ministry upon the earth of Jesus Christ (his birth, suffering, death, resurrection, and second coming), all the promises of GOD as well as the existence of the full GODhead.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, reply is made to a teenager on being ridiculed at home for having doubts and uncertainty after “growing up” as a Christian.  While our salvation does not depend upon memorizing and quoting verses from the Bible, our ability to communicate, encourage and share with other believers in Christ often does.  Every  believer should be careful to continue hearing the Gospel to further their own and the growth of others.  Even so, many otherwise skilled parents become rooted and refuse to leave their “comfort zone” as followers of the Lord, instead of leaders who are in Christ.  They fail to properly promote the spiritual growth of their children because they behave as though their children will become filled like sponges simply by carrying their children along when they attend church.  In their efforts to become adult, be independent, and to function as full persons who can demonstrate integrity, children often enter into conflict with their parents because they correctly see the flaws and weakness in their first teachers, and feel a deep-seated need for missing spiritual content.  It should come as no surprise that the young will increasingly center their awareness upon expressing anger, arrogance, distrust, and rejection.  Because altered and defiled through premature sexual joining, encouraged by peers and unbelievers who are themselves in confusion, or influenced by popular celebrities, enemies and strangers to their well-being, the efforts of the young to break from parental controls invisibly shift to become denying and forgetting GOD.  Parents are to embrace their children as partners sharing covenant and spiritual truth whom they cultivate and prepare for a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.  Yet, children and parents alike only may endure as believers through sacred operations that can be completed only by GOD.  The things we are being given as Christian believers are indispensable for our salvation through Jesus Christ, and do not come automatically by the mechanical processes and unfolding of stages for emotional, intellectual and physical development as human beings.  Spiritual gifts from divinity are being shared among us upon the earth that can not be created or fashioned by mankind.  The process for developing skill in applying and using the things of power from GOD must unfold as change that is to be permanent, edification (i.e., an aspect of prophecy and revelation), gradual growth, and learning.  A writer at “Yahoo! Should I be ridiculed for my beliefs?

I am 18, and I live in a protestant family. When I was growing up, my parents indoctrinated me and my siblings with Christian teachings; quotes from the bible, proclaiming there is one true God etc. Since I was young, I adopted these things to be true, and I accepted it as fact since my parents taught me they were always right. Recently, I have really begun to question all of it. Does God exist? Why is Christianity dominant over all other religions? Are these miracles of God or are they simply coincidence? When I spoke to my parents and siblings about it, they laughed and ridiculed me. They called me an atheistic mongrel. I am just beginning to question religion in general. Does my family have to right to insult me for my beliefs? Has anyone else come from a religous family and begin to question their faith? Please help me.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.  For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness:  for he is a babe.  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.  (Hebrews 5:  12-14, KJV)

“T. D”, here are some points of sacred knowledge that have helped many young Christian believers face the challenges necessary to accomplishing their own spiritual maturity:

(1.)  Baptism and the many sacred operations performed by GOD are more than social events, public ceremonies and fancy rituals.  In baptism there is the death and burial of ones carnal inborn spirit that responds to appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual cravings), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), emotion/mental functions (e.g., anger, desire, fear, imagination, recall) and sin (a non-material, non-spirit influence that opposes the continued existence of divine law, and may dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures).

(2.)  While baptism results in believers having a new inner source for what will be displayed within all their living relationships, believers are at first no more than infants and newborns.  Those who are born again also must “grow up” again, so to speak, and face the same “growing pains” and life experiences as all others upon the earth.  Thus, believers also may face the disappointments that come when building a career, financial losses, illnesses, problems in marriage and parenting as well as bereavement and the loss of love ones.

(3.)  Because all Christian believers have been recruited to prepare a living harvest for GOD from the earth, all are equipped with fresh endowments of the same spirit content that originally was breathed into Adam, and appeared upon the earth through Jesus Christ.

(4.)  Being a Christian is not about competition, introspection, self-improvement, and self-promotion so much as expressing gratitude, ministering support to others through intercession, unselfish service, and heartfelt worship of GOD.  Believers receive inseparable aspects of divinity such as forbearance, forgiveness, humility, joy, love, longsuffering, wisdom, and wrath against sin that must be built up and nourished through practices such as church attendance, fellowship with experienced believers, praise, prayer, and study of the holy writings.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and properly apprehended.  (For example:  (5.)  Being accountable and responsible for ones own beliefs as an adult also means acknowledging the peculiar duties, expectations and obligations one shares with their own family and church community.  Teens who leave the church, usually do so not having full sacred knowledge from the Scriptures, and not yet having received the imparted spirit of GOD.  As a result, they seek to meet the problems of living as an adult having only the things they were given for their childhood.  Covenant with GOD is through promise and interpersonal exchange (we say, intimacy, sharing).  A person may break their word to GOD, however, this will make them a liar and someone not to be trusted.  While GOD will not give up on the believer, it remains he must acknowledge where the believer has given up on him.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith and spiritual maturity.
