Tree of Life/Promise of Eternal Life

Today, reply is on having fear of eternal life.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Matt Damon” (Level 3 with 1,636 points, a member since August 24, 2014) posted the following:

Do any believers in life after death find the concept of an eternal life terrifying at all?

Do any of you even have those worries at all? Has it never occurred to you how much scarier the thought of living forever is over just dieing? Does your faith help temper any such worries?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And the twelve gates were twelve pearls:  every several gate was of one pearl:  and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.  And I saw no temple therein:  for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it:  for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it:  and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day:  for there shall be no night there.  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie:  but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.  (Revelation 21:  21-27, King James Version, KJV)

“Matt Damon”, among Christian believers, uncertainty and fear of the unknown pertain to the flow of human feelings, thoughts, and events, and do not apply to the multiple streams of truth from GOD that are given as revelation to created beings and living creatures.  The fullness of divinity (we say, the GODhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) who has put forth all existence and life is making themselves knowable, known, accessible, and approachable.  There is no fear of change, death, divine judgment, sacred law, life, resurrection, or trusting the sovereign will of GOD that proceeds from divinity.  Sinners are to embrace a full system of sacred knowledge in place of secular knowledge wherein “eternity” and “immortality” are correctly realized as aspects of duration not periods within the finite frameworks of time and space.

Divine utterances (i.e., breath; life essence; proclamation; promises; prophecy; spirit; Word) are the platform for Christian faith, and holy boldness.  The inborn spirit within sinners who are willing to be “born again” must die, be buried, and raised from the dead, so to speak.  Divine seed/DNA is imparted from the makeup of GOD whereby the sinner is born again, becomes a vessel of divine substance, and will exist as a son or daughter of GOD.  Those “born again” must “grow up again” by living, and meeting life challenges on the earth that include bereavement, disappointments, “growing pains,” hardship, and suffering.  Developing believers are to become ripe (mature) for harvest by the Lord at his coming (we also say, Advent, his appearing, the Rapture, the Second Coming).

The teachings on the first and second death, first and second resurrection with a first and second judgment do generate intense and troubling questions that, at first, appear to have no answer from GOD.  Even so, the operations of salvation include such elements as discovery, fellowship within a community of believers, forgiveness, gradual growth, lovingkindness, praise, prayer, regular study of the holy writings, sharing, unselfish service, and spirit-filled worship.  Eternal life means the end of many familiar things we think must exist for human life (e.g., covetousness, enmity, mortality; presumption, exaggerated pride; sorrow).  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Joshua 1:  8-9, King James Version (KJV):  8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:  for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.  9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:  for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

(2.)  Romans 8:  14-18, KJV:  14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

(3.)  Hebrews 9:  24-28, KJV:  24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:  25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;  26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world:  but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.  27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

(4.)  Revelation 20:  6, KJV:  6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:  on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  Revelation 21:  1-8, KJV:  1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:  for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.  4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:  for the former things are passed away.  5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write:  for these words are true and faithful.  6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Points are shared, today, on how the ministry of Jesus is continued upon the earth by operations of a spirit from GOD that would permanently abide among and indwell the Savior’s followers after his resurrection from the dead, and his return to heaven.  All believers in divinity are challenged to acknowledge and discern the active, yet, invisible presence of Deity.  As the divine High Priest within the Temple of heaven, Christ continues the work of atonement for sin, the cleansing of the Sanctuary, and the many preparations for final judgment.  In addition, there are multiple tasks that must be finished including building a holy city (the New Jerusalem), and determining the allotments and distributions for those who will live there when the city descends to the earth.  While the Holy Spirit operates among mankind establishing such features as permanent change, existence, repentance, sacred knowledge and sanctification, workings of the Spirit may be continuous, gradual, progressive, and unseen.  The Islamic prophet from Mecca who unified Arabia as a single religious group (full name, Abu al-Qasim Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashim), does not appear to continue the many works begun and maintained throughout the record we receive as the Holy Bible (as does Jesus).  It is difficult for Christian believers to recognize Muhammad, who appeared more than 550 years later, as a successor to Jesus Christ, for many things attributed to Muhammad as a prophet that are now being shared as hadith (instructions, interpretations, practices and tradition introduced by various caliphs, leaders and rulers who appeared later) do not clearly agree with the Bible, or even with the Qur’an.  The fighter at “Yahoo! 7 Answers” (Australia) using the ID “visano” (Level 1 with 70 points, a member since December 28, 2014) posted the following:

When Jesus Christ announced about the coming of the spirit of truth, was it referring to ”holy spirit” or ‘prophet Mohammad”?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  Of sin, because they believe not on me;  Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;  Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.  I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:  for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:  and he will shew you things to come.  He shall glorify me:  for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.  All things that the Father hath are mine:  therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.  A little while, and ye shall not see me:  and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.  (John 16:  12-16, KJV)

“visano”, here are a few points shared among those having the new spiritual relationship with divinity that is granted to the followers of Jesus:

(1.)  The sacred essence that operated through the Prophet John the Baptist was the same spirit that had appeared earlier in the lives of Abraham, Joseph, Samson, Samuel (called the last of the Judges, the first of the Prophets), the Prophet Moses, Daniel, and King David.  This spirit that Jesus would call the Comforter also has been called the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, and the Spirit of Truth.

(2.)  Proclamations, promises, and utterances from GOD have been made from the time of Adam to encourage faith that divinity would provide a divine ruler (many say, the Messiah) from the offspring of mankind, who also would provide atonement, deliverance, righteous judgment, and salvation from death, sin, and the Devil.  As the One Sent, the Anointed One (we say, Christ, High Priest, King), the Messiah would acknowledge eternal covenants, complete specific sacred works, fulfill divine promises, and establish an eternal kingdom.  The unchanging message further reveals and makes visible the eternal nature, immutability, and exalted purpose of Deity.

(3.)  Mankind was alerted that the agent of divinity would not be recognized on the basis of carnal, material and social features such as good looks, status, and wealth.  The Messiah would be identified through his priestly and regal service characterized by operations of the Holy Spirit that would include cleansing, demonstrations of divine content, exorcism, healing, judgment, liberation, raising the dead, sight to the blind, and other sacred events (we say, miracles).

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The Holy Spirit is imparted to indwell all those within the kingdom of GOD as that permanent aspect of human existence lost by Adam and Eve that must be restored for complete balance, and for the divine order whereby the universe will continue to exist.  The Holy Spirit serves as the chief agent, representative, and spokesperson of Jesus Christ; and does not operate with an independent or personal agenda.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of your faith.

Focus, today, is upon a Scripture that identifies GOD as the creator of “evil.”  Also, there is more on what it means to “come” to Christ.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Speculum” (Level 2 with 946 points, joined January 20, 2010) posted the following:

Why did God create evil?

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.

THE BATTLE AXE:  His Burden Is Light? (09/21/2013)—To come to Christ is to acknowledge the authority, power and sovereignty of GOD; to confess having the needs of all created beings and living creatures that can only be met through the operations of GOD; to humble oneself and voluntarily cooperate as GOD alters and changes their make-up and inner substance; and to respond to life events as a new creation of GOD having awareness of divine operations, sacramental practices, sacred processes, and eternal purposes.  To lay ones burden down and to receive rest is to experience divine release from such material and social entanglements as addiction, anger, anxiety, bereavement, covetousness, disease, desire, fear, guilt, ignorance, loneliness, lust, pride, shame, worry, and uncertainty.  The call and invitation of Christ is to access GOD and to be in intimate relationship to the Almighty through the life, death, shared inheritance, priesthood, unselfish service, and work of Jesus.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Brethren, be not children in understanding:  howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.  In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.  Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not:  but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.  If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?  But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:  And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation.  Let all things be done unto edifying.  If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.  But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.  Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.  If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.  And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.  (1st Corinthians 14:  20-33, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  All Things Possible? (09/17/2013); Can One Escape? (09/18/2013); Blessings, Curses and Woes (10/03/2012); After We Die? (10/04/2012); Sin Without Wrongdoing (08/28/2012); On Religious Items (08/29/2012)

Speculum, here are some important points of understanding mature Christian believers rely upon when responding to Isaiah 45:  7, KJV:

(1.)  In the language of the holy writings, “evil” is not “sin”, and “evil” is not “wickedness”.  When speaking of that which is put forth by GOD, “evil” is to be understood as sudden and widespread change, and therefore may include calamity, catastrophe, disaster, and upheaval.  Unplanned change and change for novelty (we say, merely for the sake of change) are regarded as change that is directly contrary to divine order, and in opposition to sacred purpose (i.e., “chaos” and “confusion”).

(2.)  The revelation of GOD to mankind has been through sacred events as well as divine utterance.  The Word that reveals GOD (the spirit) has appeared as person, praise, prayer, proclamation, promise, and prophecy.  In the same way GOD proclaimed his name to Moses, revealing the divine deeds whereby he is to be known and spoken of, the holy writings provide record of GOD’s proclamation through the Prophet Isaiah.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (3.)  There is great danger of accelerating spiritual confusion and corruption when a reader assumes the Scriptures may be read and understood without the peculiar awareness that comes by the Spirit from GOD.  A single verse out of context can never provide an accurate and complete declaration of the divine nature.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
