Coming to Christ as a Living Sacrifice

Today, reply is to the idea that created beings and living creatures must respond to life challenges, disappointments, frustration, and suffering without always being given payment or rewards from GOD.   Regular practice of giving, offering, and sacrifice (i.e., enduring cost, discomfort, and loss to acknowledge divinity; giving up something valued) further establishes the bond and permanent relationship with a sovereign GOD who has practiced Incarnation, sacrifice, and resurrection for the recovery of Creation from sin.  While eternal life and salvation cannot be gained, paid for, or won on the basis of human effort, obedience to sacred law, will power in the created and their finite works, the living do receive place as companions to immortal, incorruptible divinity through divine prerogative, eternal purpose, and sovereign will.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ men may be commended for balance, commitment, faithfulness, perseverance, sobriety, and stability.  Ownership of the earth, every other sphere of life, and all the fullness of the known universe belong to GOD.  The living are to display the inseparable aspects of spirit content from the makeup of GOD.  In accord with the Creator, it is our acknowledgment, and presentation of active presence and divine substance that determines our benefits, duration, existence, outcomes of judgment, privilege, quality, and value to GOD.  Accountability and duty make it that our lives often center more on demands and things that must be done (like it, don’t like it), rather than works within our comfort zone, our personal preferences, and our favorite things.  Divinity is no less faithful, holy, righteous, and true.  A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Road Trip” (Level 3 with 1,156 points, a member since May 12, 2006) posted the following in the Religion and Spirituality forum:

If few people get into heaven, then why should anyone try? Especially if it is so difficult.?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.  (Luke 12:  32, King James Version, KJV)

“Road Trip”, even though we must face challenges, obstacles, and reversals, mankind is not to despair.  To ensure that this Creation has every possibility of continuing as immortal and incorruptible, eternal divinity has even appeared on the earth using the form of flesh and blood (we say, Incarnation).  While it is true that the Creator is also a God of judgment whose inseparable spirit substance and makeup includes wrath against sin, with him there is also forbearance, forgiveness, longsufferering, lovingkindness, mercy, personhood, restraint, righteousness, and wisdom.

The transgression (violation) of divine law committed by the first pair resulted in mortality (dying and death) becoming a permanent condition for mankind on the earth.  Even so, annihilation and the second death (utter destruction) is held back through the multiple divine operations that provide adoption as the sons and daughters of GOD, discovery, gradual growth, inheritance, obedience, “oneness without sameness,” rebirth, repentance, sacrifice, sanctification, and unselfish service.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Romans 12:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And be not conformed to this world:  but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

(2.)  Micah 6:  7-9, KJV:  7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?  8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?  9 The LORD’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name:  hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

(3.) Ezekiel 18:  4, KJV:  4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine:  the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

(4.)  Ezekiel 18:  20-23, KJV:  20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son:  the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.  21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.  22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him:  in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.  23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD:  and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

(5.)  2nd Peter 1:  2-4, KJV:  2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:  that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (6.)  Romans 15:  4, KJV:  4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Thy Saviour

Today, reply is on the anchors, gifts and tools Christian believers receive for facing the future without fear.  The present process of GOD for salvation continues to be one of engaging divinity in ongoing relationship, openly fulfilling prophecy, and sharing sacred knowledge (we say, revelation) that is to provide comfort, rather than a process for maintaining mystery, secrecy, and hidden truth.  While prophecy and revelation may be thought of as “forward-looking,” their importance is not the foretelling of events or predicting the future so much as directing the awareness of created beings and living creatures to apprehend the character, makeup, and substances who collectively are divine fullness (we say, the GODhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit).  A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum using the ID “Wise Cracker” (Level 7 with 167,572 points, a member since November 12, 2013) posted the following:

Is the only way to keep from fearing the future to not look into the future and stay in the NOW?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:  for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.  (1st Corinthians 15:  51-58, King James Version (KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Secular History, Sacred Revelation? (01/11/2018); No Fear In Love? (05/17/2017); Time and Sacred Events? (03/30/2017); The People You Meet? (08/11/2016); Correct Awe and Respect (02/04/2016); The Endtime and Fear? (01/14/2015); Afraid of Eternal Life? (10/30/2013); Why Bother to Read? (10/31/2013)

“Wise Cracker”, for mature Christian believers “the future” has content, form, presence, quality, and value as the expression of grace, divine prerogative, eternal purpose, and the sovereign will of GOD.  The future pertains more to the existence of divinity, than to the existence of time and space.  Christians all begin as sinners who willingly turn away (we say, repent) from lives of error and wickedness, and turn to GOD to be part of the new creation through Jesus Christ.  Thereby, sinners become joined to GOD as divine offspring and heirs through various operations carried out by the Lord and by the Holy Spirit.  Without knowing all the details, or having predictions of all that will occur, one enters into new relationships established through GOD that all turn a believer to hope, joy, life, and love, not to anger, bitterness, confusion, and darkness.

While still on the earth, “developing believers” are to prepare to exist as eternal, immortal companions of Deity.  Those “born again” must “grow up again” and become mature (ripe for harvest; fit to be gathered up by the Lord when he returns).  The many events of sacred gathering and joining include divine adoption to become sons and daughters of GOD; answering as a partner in divine covenant; becoming confirmed as a full member of the church (the body of Christ); holy matrimony wherein two become “one flesh,” and GOD is the other; rebirth depicted by water baptism (death and burial of ones inborn spirit with its resurrection from the dead having divine DNA, so to speak); and receiving the blood and body of Jesus through the emblems of bread and wine (we say, Communion; the Lord’s Supper).

When challenged by fear, guilt, regret, or shame, many rely on their own authority, their own personal power, and the strength of their own will (willpower) to overcome.  For Christians, the facing of fear is accomplished primarily as we receive and rely on inseparable aspects of spirit substance from the makeup of GOD.  Included are faith, forbearance, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, personhood, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  The operations and workings of fear are blocked out by focusing on sacred knowledge (instead of secular knowledge), on the assurances, proclamations, and promises of GOD as well as by commitment, prophecy, holy boldness (certainty and confidence to enter the presence of divinity for judgment), and discernment (the ability to recognize and respond whenever invisible divinity is present).

Consider the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Jeremiah 29:  11-13, King James Version (KJV):  11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

(2.)  Isaiah 41:  10, KJV:  10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee:  be not dismayed; for I am thy God:  I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

(3.)  James 4:  13-17, KJV:  13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:  14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.  15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.  16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings:  all such rejoicing is evil.  17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

(4.)  Matthew 6:  31-34, KJV:  31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow:  for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  1st John 4:  16-18, KJV:  16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.  17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:  because as he is, so are we in this world.  18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:  because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Glass Trinity

A Depiction of the Three Aspects/Persons of Divine Fullness:
The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit

Today, reply is on the absence of a “Mother” among the three spirit appearances of divine person.  Without re-opening the quarrels against Mary the birth-mother of Jesus being respected with a title (The Mother of GOD), the Trinity comes into view here as a spirit entity that should not be thought of as like any ordinary human individual.  The exalted character, makeup, and possibilities of GOD must be acknowledged as on a higher plane than that of the angels and mortal men.  Many Christian believers are appalled to think that men on the earth still dare describe the sovereign over all Creation by using “weak and beggarly elements” such as gender, ethnicity, nationality, politics, race, or the amount of earthly wealth men accumulate and squander.  A writer in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum using the ID “Bubba” (Level 2 with 652 points, a member since November 24, 2016) posted the following:

Religion: Can someone give some insight to the below statement?

If God is referred to as the Father, then who is the Mother? Serious question.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;  To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;  Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.  (Hebrews 7:  1-3, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Thoughts On Divine Personhood (12/07/2017); GOD Appearing As Christ (12/03/2017); In Order To Understand (12/01/2017); All Divinity in ONE? (11/17/2017); The Mother of GOD? (12/09/2016); The Gender of GOD? (12/29/2015); A Kindness to Mary? (04/21/2013); When GOD Controls? (04/22/2013)

“Bubba”, GOD is a spirit who does not display gender except when using human form (we say, using embodiment; Incarnation).  Spirit substance can not be known relying on finite human tools such as emotion, intellect, secular knowledge, logic, and carnal reason.   Divine spirit is diffuse (i.e., may spread over a boundless expanse without loss of adherence, coherence, and integrity), is invisible to the human eye, and is without dimension (i.e., can not be measured in accordance with patterns from the frameworks of time and space like density, depth, height, and length).  The fullness (entire array) of divine spirit substances are being revealed to created beings and living creatures as the GODhead (the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit), and are not like the many material things we compare to spirit that have particles (e.g., clouds, fog, mist, smoke).  Included are inseparable spirit content from the full makeup of divinity such as faith, forbearance, holiness, humility, longsuffering, lovingkindness, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Because the church is a spiritual body created by divinity and endowed with those spirit gifts, only the church is spoken of as the “bride of Christ.”

Serious answers and responses to your question from Christian believers can take many forms, for the “active presence” (we also say, breath, life essence, spirit, Word) who is GOD indwells sinners who become “born again.”  As among the three persons of the single GODhead, believers will display accord and oneness without sameness.  The inborn spirit must die, be buried, and be raised from the dead; and the sinner must be reborn having divine DNA, so to speak.  Because developing believers have a fresh endowment of spirit substance from the makeup of GOD, Christians may be called the children of GOD, joint heirs with Jesus Christ as well as priests and kings, saints within the kingdom of GOD, and the new creation.  The reproduction of the image of GOD in mankind is a sacred process, rather than a mechanical or natural process such as we see in sexual reproduction.  What some count as the distinct expressions and traits from a mother (e.g., gentleness, obedience, patience, strength, sweetness, the ability to weep unselfishly for and with others) should appear through every member of the body of Christ (the church).  Consider the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  John 4:  23-24, King James Version (KJV):  23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:  for the Father seeketh such to worship him.  24 God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

(2.)  Galatians 4:  4-7, KJV:  4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,  5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

(3.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and made a part of our own spirit makeup.  (For example, (4.)  Revelation 19:  7-11, KJV:  7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him:  for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.  8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white:  for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.  9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.  9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.  10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not:  I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus:  worship God:  for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.  11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

We Are His Little Ones

Today, focus is on language throughout the Bible that describes adult believers in Jesus Christ as children and “little ones.”  Spoken of as adoption by the Spirit, being tried in a refiner’s fire (i.e., judgment), rebirth, purification, and sanctification, there is a profound divine process that a sinner must endure to become ripe (mature), and be harvested from the earth at the coming of the Savior as someone who has been purchased by his living ministry, his dying on the cross, and his rule as Risen Lord.  Salvation is not a discrete episode or “one-time” event; and there must be discovery, gradual growth, acquisition of sacred knowledge, and the performance of godly works through ones lifestyle and routine living.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “2FollowHim” (Level 7 with 122,626 points, a member since January 24, 2010) posted the following:

Christians, could you elaborate?

1 Peter 1:14 As obedient children, do not be shaped by the desires that used to influence you when you were ignorant

And why would he use the terms obedient children?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come:  but woe unto him, through whom they come!  It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.  (Luke 17:  1-2, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Becoming Joined To GOD (10/13/2017); Rebirth, Growth and Transformation (09/29/2017); No Repentance Without Rebirth? (12/14/2016); His Children Are Sanctified (10/12/2016); Heirs of The Cross? (04/01/2016); Offspring of GOD? (12/23/2015); The Seed of the Wicked (10/27/2015)

“2FollowHim”, those who belong to GOD should be recognizable by their humility, obedience, and reverence togodward.  Continuing the ministry of Jesus Christ, the Apostles frequently addressed full-grown adults of the early church as “children” and “little ones.”  Being members joined to the body of Christ, developing believers at first are to be given guidance, instruction, and support as though they are infants, “born again,” and totally dependent.  These “new born babes” who once were sinners must “grow up again,” acquire sacred knowledge and become ripe for harvest while facing challenges, “growing pains,” opposition, and suffering on the earth.  All believers are to undergo multiple permanent changes in their character and makeup through the imparted Holy Spirit.  In water baptism, the inborn spirit of those seeking GOD is carried through a form of death, burial, and resurrection.  More than this, sinners are endowed with spirit content from the makeup of GOD (divine DNA, so to speak), and become heirs, offspring, and the sons and daughters of GOD.  Their transformation to exist as immortal, incorruptible companions of divinity will begin while on the earth, and be completed in the air, “in the twinkling of an eye,” at the Lord’s appearing that many call the Advent, the harvest, the Rapture, and the Second Coming.  With this in view, the great diversity among Christian believers is understood as resulting largely through the differences in their duties, knowledge, levels of maturity, and their specific spiritual gifts.  Consider again the following:

(1.)  John 3:  1-12, King James Version (KJV):  1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:  2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God:  for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.  3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.  4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?  5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.  8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth:  so is every one that is born of the Spirit.  9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?  10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?  11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.  12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

(2.)  1st Peter 2:  1-10, KJV:  1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,  2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,  5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.  6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious:  and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.  7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious:  but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,  8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient:  whereunto also they were appointed.  9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;  10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:  which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

(3.)  Ephesians 2:  1-5, KJV:  1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;  2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:  3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.  4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,  5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Galatians 4:  19-29, KJV:  19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,  20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.  21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?  22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.  23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.  24 Which things are an allegory:  for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.  25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.  26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.  27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not:  for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.  28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.  29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.)  I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, focus is on why life expressing Christian belief is described as ministry, unselfish service, and suffering.  Christians should be thought of as “sinners in transition,” and not as those who are already flawless and perfect.  Believers are to develop obedience, sacred knowledge, and full understanding by meeting life challenges and engaging in sacred experiences while on the earth.  They then emerge as a new creation through divine operations of faith, expectation (we say, hope), promise, and prophecy.  More important than individual achievement, self-promotion, and the things from our material world, are the shared and vicarious experiences of oneness without sameness, and of the spirit content from GOD deposited within the body of believers.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “….” (Level 6 with 17,824 points, a member since December 28, 2007) posted the following:

Why do Christians have all the answers for everyone else but none for themselves when trouble comes?

They suffer as much as anyone else and die like anyone else. If God does nothing for us in this life while we have faith in Him to do so how can we know in the next life if he will or not like in this life?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.  For we are saved by hope:  but hope that is seen is not hope:  for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.  (Romans 8:  22-25, King James Version, KJV)

“….”, for mature Christian believers, the relationship of Creator and created now is on the basis of faith, promise, and things that are to come.  The process that appears as Christian belief is intended to manifest (make known and visible) the active presence who is GOD, and further reveals the fullness of divinity (we say, the GODhead—the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit).  The transformation of sinners to become immortal, incorruptible companions to Deity is not a sudden, one-time event; what is called “salvation” is accomplished through multiple sacred operations.  Included are atonement, death, forgiveness, judgment, priesthood, prophecy, rebirth, regeneration, resurrection, and sanctification.  Followers of Jesus Christ all must become “born again,” “grow up again” and mature as offspring of GOD who contain divine DNA, so to speak.  Inseparable aspects of the spirit makeup of GOD must be received such as faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, oneness without sameness, person, wisdom and wrath against sin.  While believers may now be spoken of as adopted through the Holy Spirit, sons and daughters of GOD, and joint-heirs with Christ, there has not yet been the full endowment of spirit gifts and substance crucial for eternal life.  Believers have been given an earnest or “good-faith payment” by demonstrations of the Spirit within congregations and communities of faith.  While all might not be able to display or perform in specific ways, or show themselves equally capable and mature, the gifts and enabling by GOD often may be clearly seen in the lifestyles, living routines, and service of clergy, ordinary believers, men, women, and children.  Like our Savior, all Christians are to be seen as ministers, servants and agents carrying out the will of the Father.  Consider again the following:

(1.)  2nd Peter 1:  2-4, King James Version (KJV):  2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:  that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

(2.)  Mark 10:  45, KJV:  45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

(3.)  2nd Corinthians 5:  4-10, KJV:  4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened:  not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.  5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.  6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:  7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)  8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.  9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.  10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

(4.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  Romans 8:  14-17, KJV:  14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, thoughts are shared on Christian belief, sacred practice, and human sexuality.  Popular culture now seeks to legitimate and normalize as civil rights many behaviors and patterns of association long thought to be destructive of family and the home as life-giving institutions.  It remains, fruitful and productive relationships that can produce a holy seed acceptable to GOD are characterized by accountability, commitment, fidelity, mutuality, restraint, stability, and trust.  The “holiness” that may describe a marriage union appears only through the presence and working of the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD through Jesus Christ.  For those who come into the world as infants who have no standing as “offspring of GOD,” to become sons and daughters of the Most High and joint heirs with Jesus Christ, they must become born again and receive adoption through the Holy Spirit.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Your thoughts on people who call themselves Christian yet still cohabitate with a lover?

Update: Shouldn’t someone who says they believe in God try to follow what the Bible says instead of purposefully sinning?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.  But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh:  but I spare you.  But this I say, brethren, the time is short:  it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;  And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;  And they that use this world, as not abusing it:  for the fashion of this world passeth away.  But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:  But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.  There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit:  but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.  And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.  (1st Corinthians 7:  27-35, King James Version, KJV)

“?”, we have to be careful attempting to judge others.  Becoming spiritually mature as one “born again” through Jesus Christ may take many years, and requires “growing up again” by acquiring sacred knowledge, continuing sacred practices (we say, sacraments), participating in fellowship with mature believers as well as performing unselfish service to GOD.  Similarly, humans on the earth must become sexually mature, however, more than age and physical development are involved.  All who are born as the offspring of Adam inherit a longing for meaningful companionship and sexual appetite that, like hunger or thirst, operates in terms of carnal reason, sensation (e.g., hearing, feeling hot and cold, seeing, touching), and laws that may regulate only an animal nature or mechanical processes.  Just as one should not drink or eat anything and everything they may see, sexual expression should not be with anybody and everybody, doing anything and everything.  Balance, discernment, discipline, good judgment, and restraint must be acquired to safely engage in healthy sexual activity.  Sexual joining occurs on multiple levels and is—all at the same time—emotional, mental, physical, psychological, and spiritual.  Intimate relationships intended to provide sexual satisfaction always are complex, and must include continuous communication, exchange, and interaction that present subtleties (barely visible differences; hidden shifts in meaning and value).  Genuine mutual trust must be in place instead of betrayal, deceit, and lies that characterize immaturity, infatuation, and “puppy love.”  Fornication is the defilement of ones inborn spirit content from parents, and the spiritual confusion that results by joining oneself to a person physically present and their previous sexual partners who are not physically present.  The primary relationship provided by divinity for freely expressing ones body, mind, and Spirit demonstrates exclusive devotion and fidelity toward GOD—holy matrimony.  Pre-, extra- and multiple-marital relationships (e.g., polyandry and polygamy) do not allow the most godly and lasting expressions of love.  Thus, the counsel from GOD to sinners who choose to follow Jesus Christ include the following:

(1.)  Galatians 5:  16-17, King James Version (KJV):  16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh:  and these are contrary the one to the other:  so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

(2.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

(3.)  Malachi 2:  13-16, KJV:  13 And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.  14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously:  yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.  15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.  16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away:  for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts:  therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  1st Timothy 4:  1-3, KJV:  1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;  2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;  3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, language in the Bible is considered that speaks of Jesus Christ as begotten and firstborn.  Saying that Jesus was “first created” (i.e., the first created thing) would not be correct, because that suggests his existence had a beginning (i.e., that he is not eternal), and his active presence began through the same process as that for all Creation.  Included would be that for beasts, fowl, insects, and physical objects that were either crafted or spoken into being.  Divinity has no beginning or end, however, Christ is associated with the beginning and end of Creation as the First and the Last, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending.  The Son of the Highest (also called, the Word) was revealed and made visible as an aspect of the full GODhead by using various created forms and materials that had been fashioned by divinity, yet, could only exist as mortal and as having temporal duration.  Christ appears through unseen sacred process in order to be known using flesh and blood.  The writer at “Yahoo! What is the meaning of the Bible word “firstborn” in Colossians 1:15 regarding Jesus in light of Jeremiah 31:9?

Are we to understand “firstborn” as literally meaning the person who was the first to be born? And why doesn’t the Bible say Jesus was first created?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.  And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?  And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.  And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.  And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not:  behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.  And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.  And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.  And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.  And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof:  for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;  And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:  and we shall reign on the earth.  (Revelation 5:  1-10, King James Version, KJV)

“Lesley”, the standing and status as firstborn pertains to specific requirements in sacred law and covenant relationship as well as preeminence over all in existence.  Jesus Christ comes to mankind as that aspect of divinity that fulfills all the demands of divine law on behalf of all Creation.  For the mortal to be in relationship with the immortal, there must be several devices (e.g., longevity, promise, family, inheritance, dynasty) to maintain continuity and stability that can not be interrupted by death.  Jesus appears on the earth using flesh and form that have been created, yet, appears through direct, unseen operations of the Holy Spirit (we say, Incarnation).  In the same way, the Lord appears as the image of GOD, he also is destroyed upon the cross as the embodiment of sin.  The Savior lawfully represents every creature that is the first child born to their own mother, for the first child inherits accountability, benefits, duties, and “life conditions” that include being in relationship with Deity as an offering and sacrifice as well as their being servants, priests and kings.  So to speak, Jesus redeems a portion of all that exists and all who lives by himself being the required payment for all liens and fines against the living.  Things from the earth that belong to and are offered to GOD must be “sent” to him using fire upon an altar.  Not placed on the altar, they must be utterly destroyed, or made to be a living sacrifice through redemption.  Reuben was the first child born to Jacob; however, Ephraim, the son of Joseph, came out of Egypt, and was adopted with his older brother by his grandfather Jacob, who blessed and promoted the younger as the firstborn, indicating election by GOD, not simply carnal birth.  Consider again the following:

(1.)  Numbers 18:  15-17, King James Version (KJV):  15 Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine:  nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.  16 And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.  17 But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy:  thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

(2.)  Hosea 11:  1-4, KJV:  1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.  2 As they called them, so they went from them:  they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.  3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.  4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

(3.)  Colossians 1:  17-19, KJV:  17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  18 And he is the head of the body, the church:  who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Galatians 4:  1-7, KJV:  1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;  2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.  3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:  4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,  5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
